I understand teenagers make mistakes, but the way this school handles situations is extremely frustrating. I constantly receive calls, emails, TalkingPoints messages, and notifications for every little thing my daughter supposedly does -- not looking forward in class, she can't look down, she's put in a group for a group project but can't talk or use her computer for references, being late, being on her phone, etc. One teacher allows music, but then my daughter gets in trouble for being on her phone at the same time. The communication is inconsistent and overwhelming. What's even more frustrating is the attendance issues. I receive notifications about tardies and absences, and when I call to clarify or correct them, the office acts like it's a simple attendance correction. Later I find out there were even more absences or tardies I was never notified about in the first place. The school is very quick to point out every flaw or mistake students make, but never acknowledges anything positive they do or explains what THEY are doing to help students improve. I made sure to hear both sides from the teachers and from my daughter and honestly, the teachers never admitted what they may have done wrong. My daughter was more honest about the situation than the adults were. Once I started holding staff accountable and speaking up as a parent, attitudes suddenly changed and they started treating her differently. The administration has also been disappointing. I spoke directly with the principal looking for support, and instead of helping, I was told he had "more important priorities" and would call me back. He never did. That says a lot about how concerns from parents and students are handled. I could go on and on. This environment is not supportive. Students need accountability, but they also need support, fairness, and communication from adults who are supposed to help them succeed. Even though this is a newer school, I had much higher hopes for my daughter's freshman year experience. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but stressful and disappointing. Before enrolling your child into this school, I strongly recommend reading reviews and speaking with other parents first. Communication from staff feels more focused on punishment and constant criticism rather than support or helping students succeed. Parents deserve honesty, follow-through, and staff who are willing to work with families instead of making them feel ignored.

Ms. Yasmeen is the assistant director, always at the site. She is so sweet and helpful. She loves the kids, always getting them little trinkets for special occasions and helping out in all areas. Moore's curriculum is very organized with themes changing each month like space, sea animals, cooking, and so on. The art is actually made by the students themselves to encourage creativity. By the end, my girl was drawing her whole family on many of the art projects she brought back. Quite a bit of focus on handwriting as well, which I appreciated. The kiddos get an abundance of playtime outside with all the cool obstacles and activities they have out there. At previous schools we'd get…read morenonstop phone calls about him not staying on his mat during nap, not handling transitions well, not interacting with kids the same way other kids do, playing with the dirt or bark too much while outside, etc. The teachers at Moore have done a beautiful job meeting him where he's at and providing an environment that lets him be himself while still learning how to be in a class environment. From day 1 with Moore we noticed a big difference. He's much more regulated, he actually naps (!!!), he's made friends and he genuinely enjoys going to school each day. The app allows for direct communication with his teacher if needed and we get updates all day on what he's up to. The teachers are friendly but still firm with the kids when needed which is great. They do a ton of activities including learning numbers, letters, their names, doing sensory activities, practicing fine and gross motor skills, etc. Moore isn't going to be your standard daycare center with pristine rooms and strict schedules. They're a daycare center with a home daycare feel. My son often comes home covered in dirt with shoes full of sand and we LOVE it. We like that you can tell the kids have played all day because it means they got to be kids.

Once old enough they facilitate a preschool program, my two year old can hold a pencil correctly and does his worksheets daily. The early introduction to these skills continue on to help prepare for kindergarten. We decided to keep our kids at Harvest House until they started kindergarten, and credit the curriculum and dedication they set in place of reading, sight words, and math to setting them up for success. My 8 and 5 yr old progressed at different paces but both felt more confidence going into kindergarten. In the eight years we have been with them they haven't been closed outside the Holidays and Vacation days outlined at the beginning of the year, providing us working parents with the reliability and stability needed. If I could give this "private school" zero stars, I absolutely would. As a parent, it became painfully clear that this school's leadership, especially the principal is far more focused on money, donations, and maintaining appearances than on students' actual well-being or education. Tuition is already extremely high, yet families are constantly pressured for additional donations and fundraising. Unfortunately, there is little evidence that this money goes toward improving the quality of education or addressing serious issues within the school community. The principal frequently speaks about "virtues" and moral values, but those words are not reflected in student behavior either on campus or outside of school. There is a major disconnect between what is preached and what is practiced. Students are not held accountable, and disrespectful behavior toward peers and the community is largely ignored. For a school that claims to be values-based, this hypocrisy is incredibly disappointing. The middle school education is especially awful. Teaching is disorganized, expectations are unclear, and students are not properly supported academically or emotionally. Instead of being challenged and encouraged, my child became frustrated, overwhelmed, and unmotivated. Watching my child lose confidence in what should have been a supportive learning environment was heartbreaking. The overall environment is extremely toxic, not just among students but among parents as well. The parent community is rude and unwelcoming, especially toward new families. Both new students and their parents are made to feel like outsiders, making it incredibly difficult for children to adjust socially and academically. Ultimately, the situation became so unacceptable that I had to pull my child out of the school. No parent should ever feel forced into that decision after investing so much time, money, and trust. Families would honestly be better off choosing a stronger Catholic school or even a public school, both of which offer the same, or far better education without the unfriendliness and constant financial pressure, if the current administration and principal could change this awful environment, academics, greedy attitude. I would happily consider this school a five stars but sadly this school seems like it will never change. Just to start this review by saying I would never recommend this school, let's just start off by saying. HORRIBLE administration, principal is super irresponsible and clearly her main goal is money. She never cares and shows any support for the students. Which is why the middle school kids act super disrespectful towards teachers, they cuss, say slurs, bully kids with special needs and leave other kids out, being really immature. They do all these "service projects" or church projects" or even "virtues", to prioritize catholic faith but they never show it in their actions, making it really complicated to tell if it's a "private school". Whats worse is the middle school education is AWFUL, they are so unorganized and so behind in academics especially the math teacher. She'll always assign a new topic every week and expect every kid to understand it and then get upset if they get a problem wrong, she claims she's "helping them" learn and succeed in math but just made them even more stressed out, confused and frustrated. Also the teachers gossip around each other which is super obvious because they are always whispering to each other, they even bullied out a staff member to QUIT their job, worse part is most "teachers" teaching your child at that school are uncredentialed, basically hiring anybody to teach your kid. And the only time the teacher respects you is if you send gifts or donating money to them. The only "good" thing I can say about this school is the church every Friday's but really doesn't matter if the students just go back to cussing, saying slurs and bullying each other, especially if the school is revolved around "virtues" but I guess it doesn't matter unless you shove money in the principals pockets. So in conclusion do not enroll your child here. Super irresponsible administrations, kids are not very welcoming, teachers with no credentials teaching your child, also gossiping about other students or staff members, no right or wrongs about what kids say in the class, very disorganized education and lack of education but have to pay a bunch of money for the tuition. In my opinion just send them to a better catholic school or even a Public school, just save your money. read more

We ultimately decided to withdraw from this school because the overall environment did not feel conducive to children's well‑being. Many of the mothers formed exclusive cliques, where gossip and judgment were common. This behavior was mirrored among the students, creating an atmosphere in which kids were often unkind or exclusionary, clearly reflecting the attitudes modeled by their parents. While there were several dedicated teachers, certain staff members contributed to the concerns. Mrs. Thomas frequently scolded children harshly and demonstrated noticeable favoritism toward her own daughter. She appeared to also favor quiet students who never spoke or questioned, making me feel she doesn't really enjoy teaching. Leadership did not intervene, which suggested a broader pattern of preferential treatment for certain kids and families, particularly those employed by the school or heavily involved as volunteers. When we withdrew, the principal, Mrs. Greene, did not inquire about our reasons or express any concern. Her brief smile as we exited the office felt dismissive after years of enrollment and gave the impression that she didn't care to know our names and that families and kids were easily replaceable. For a school that identifies as faith‑based, the environment did not reflect the values of kindness or genuine community. We hoped for a more supportive and positive setting for our children, and unfortunately, this school did not meet those expectations. This is our honest experience while at this school. read more

I am writing a follow up review from the one by ilikepancakes regarding other things that I experienced at this school. The teachers there were not good, especially the 7th grade math teacher who was terrible and was always rude to kids. The class was pretty bad too. They would make fun of me and my friend group and other kids who acted differently or might have special needs. The teachers also don't handle bullying very well. There was a kid in 6th grade who would get made fun of laughed at by my 7th grade class because he acted differently. The teachers also seemed to stress him out because he would start crying and shouting when around them. The 8th grade teacher was good though. If your child has a disorder or disability then I don't think you should come because the teachers don't really help. Even if they don't you still shouldn't send your kids here because this school sucks. Alright so I made a review about the school a couple months ago but they kept getting mass reported by seas glazers or whatever so imma write it again as best I can. Basically from what I remember the teachers were really rude and picked favorites, some students in my class (I know some of yall are reading this) was always making fun of kids like me and my friends and other kids. It got so bad I think like 8 kids left or something cuz of bullying (they had 36 when I came). And I know they still are talking about me but they never said it to my face. The principal sucks and also picks favorites, and again the teachers don't do nothing. Specially the 7th grade math teacher Mrs McDonalds or whatever was always picking on me. The only thing the school really did for me was help me build my faith in Christianity (not Catholicism). I am speaking on behalf of my other alumni brothers and sisters. This is the motherfucking worst place to put your kids. They taught us absolutely nothing and I was not prepared for high school at all. There are only 2-3 good teachers there. All the rest are absolute shit and are only there to get paid and don't like what they are doing. They do not care about the children, and do not resolve escalating problems. A teacher there (thank the lord she's leaving) would not teach us anything from the text book, or teach us anything about writing essays or grammar but to top it off she made us read STUPID shitty books that we weren't supposed to read until 12th grade. Instead of teaching us the stuff we needed to know for next year she taught us nothin. They are also quite feminist. They taught us nothing valuable and it will stick with me for the rest of my life. So I got bullied my whole time here and the staff did nothing about it didn't even care, Everytime I told the teacher something they said 'tell the yard-duty' and I told the yard duty about it and they didn't even do anything, the students are so rude, they talked bad about me and my friends and we confronted staff and they did nothing. One time in 4th grade, this girl had a headache and the teacher let her go to the nurses office and one time I was really sick... runny nose, sour throat and fever and the teacher asked if I could stay until the end of the day like what the hell is wrong with you? And the food absolutely sucks also, we had moldy apples and one time we had expired milk from 3 MONTHS AGO. And the vice principal makes up weird rules, one time me and my friends were eating our snacks by the bench and he was like 'you have to eat by the snack area' and the snack area was FLOODED with people and we weren't even littering or anything we were just eating. And I remember in 2nd grade and 4th grade my teachers yelled at me and it scared the hell out of me. And one time I heard that the PE teacher punched a kid in the shoulder. But yea if you kids or whatever do not send them to this school it's ass

Although she may present herself as friendly, my child experienced repeated condescending, inappropriate, and troubling behavior. My child was bullied by other students on multiple occasions, and I personally witnessed some of these incidents. Instead of intervening appropriately, Ms. Choi dismissed my child's reports, denied that incidents occurred, and labeled her a liar.She made inappropriate comments about my child's appearance, including remarks about her skin color, and spoke negatively about me as a parent directly to my child. My child also reported being physically touched in a way that made her uncomfortable. In addition, she described instances where Ms. Choi would whisper comments in her ear so that others could not hear, which caused her to feel isolated and distressed.When I brought these concerns to school administration, I did not see meaningful action taken. After contacting the district multiple times over several months, I was finally able to have my child transferred due to limited availability.I encourage parents to remain vigilant, listen carefully to their children, document concerns, and advocate firmly when necessary. Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and protected in their classroom.
