Graduating fresh out of CMS in 94. My family was looking for…read morethe best when it came to classes & programs. We thought CHS (Collierville) would be the best choice but we found it offered very little in programs & classes at the time. Me & my family then talked about Houston & I had no objections to it as I wanted to attend originally & I was happy to enroll starting the 2nd semester of my freshman year. With a fresh start to close out the school year. I adjusted to the environment & made friends within the first few months there before the summer break. With a New year & a fresh start I started checking out the sports & other programs offered. I ended up joining the Wrestling & Football which were just developing into the greatness they achieved throughout the 90's. Those are very excellent programs as the coach's are passionate on the field or may in edition to their classroom. The clubs offered at Houston are also excellent like BETA ,DECA , Pride,FCA just to name a few. From Mr. Clayton to Coach Taylor their head & assistant Principals have always been the greatest next to the teaching staff past & present. If I had a kid high school aged & lived in the area presently I would send my kid here. I visited Menagerie Farm with my son on a school trip last month. My review below:…read more - Location: Pretty out there if you live in areas like Bartlett. It's all the way in Collierville so expect to get there in 45min - 1hr. It was also difficult to locate b/c it was a in a residential subdivision/neighborhood. I was luckily behind the school bus and was able to follow them; otherwise, I would have missed it 10x. - Price: Meh...it was like $15.00/kid & $5.00/chaperon through the school; however, when we got there they were also charging $2.00 for parking which was not disclosed (school's fault). Luckily, I had cash; otherwise, not sure what other options I would have had. - Farm: Really there wasn't much other than chickens running around, a few goats to feed, a lake with catfish to feed, and a tractor and train that drove you around for a few minutes. We really didn't get to see any other animals but from far. Overall - go to the Memphis Zoo :)

They have lots adorable and friendly animals that are well cared for. It's well organized and my daughter always has an absolute blast. It's well worth the 2 hours of driving a day to take her to and from during her camp week. Every complaint I've seen have seen about this facility has been in regards to the animals that reside there doing as they please. Please keep in mind that is their home. They live there. It's a FARM. Don't schedule your kids events at a farm if you're not willing to share space with the animals that live there. Isn't that the whole point in going there? It wouldn't be what it is if all of the animals were all locked in cages. I personally love going there and seeing all of these animals running around live their best life and being well loved by the owners.
