As soon as you arrive, multiple members come to greet you, shake your hand, ask where you're visiting from, generally make you feel welcome. It's a gorgeous wooden building with lots of stained glass in the sanctuary, beautiful landscaping with lots of succulents and trees. If you've never been to an episcopal church, it's a bit different in terms of having a lot of high liturgy, call and response portions, often sung. It's helpful you get a program that has music and recitations printed out for you. Anyway, it's quite the interactive experience. It was the day to bless pets so several congregants brought their dogs with them. I could've brought our cat had I known...there's always a coffee/tea snack time in the courtyard after the service for people to socialize. We didn't stay today as we had brunch plans but it's always super friendly and welcoming as well. The church has a thriving thrift shop on campus which is open on weekdays.

I liked the atmosphere and then fact that is so walking distance to the sea, you feel in communion with nature. The vitrals are very colorful and delicate and found interesting to see origami pending from the ceiling. They also have a no less interesting Saint Peter statue made of wood that looks like a totem. Peaceful place.

The services are held outside in a peaceful grove and the music's nothing less than amazing. It feels so good to finally find a group of like-minded people in this big fast-paced city of ours.

It seems to largely fit what we are looking for. As new parents, our desire to make the world a better place, even in small ways, has grown... We are also in search of additional positive influences to help guide our son as he grows. Outlets for community outreach is also something we want to do, and there seem to be many opportunities for that at UUFSD. The notion of being given a topic (sermon) to reflect on, even act on, is something we are attracted to as well. Learning more about the UU at the orientation was a real highlight for us. To be honest, we are still a little uneasy with some of the characteristics of a traditional sermon (words like faith and religion, prayers, and hymns -though from a musical standpoint we were impressed with the talented musicians and vocalists). But, both my hubby and I found the entire experience to be positive, the people welcoming. Our son also enjoyed the child care from what we could tell. After, he was chatty and smiley... Even with missing his nap. As an ICU nurse, unfortunately, my husband has only one Sunday off in the next 9 weeks. So, another visit might be some time from now. But, I thought it was well worth writing this review. I don't think many people our age know about this type of organization... This type of "church." This agnostic was drawn in by the principles and FAQs outlined on UUFSD's webpage. And now the experience today has us looking toward the future and how the UUFSD might fit into our lives (and hopefully our awkward schedule).

We've never felt more welcomed or as part of a church community than we do here. Restoration Church is truly a Jesus-centered church for all people--no matter who you are or where you are on your journey, whether you're new to faith or have been in church your whole life. The church (as the mission statement says) genuinely empowers all people to love and follow Jesus. The pastors and leadership are not only passionate about their mission, but they also deeply care about the growth of the people. They are focused on building up the individuals within the church, not just growing the church. If you are looking for a different kind of church - one that encourages personal growth and transformation not through pressure or rules, but through the natural result of loving and following Jesus, Restoration Church is it! If you are searching for a new church or have even given up on church altogether, we encourage you to give Restoration a try. As yet another plus of Restoration Church, the worship team is AMAZING!!

The pastor said do not draw attention to yourself since 2023 when I had my revelation I started wearing tee shirts with scriptures on it . I just want the world to know Jesus that is my intention and I do my prayer walk wearing these tee shirts . Mitch Glaser In 2024 when he visited Shuvah Ysreal that's their congregation in Irvine. He asked us to wear their tee shirts with Isaiah 53 since the Talmud remove that chapter of Isaiah that one of the scriptures that speaks of the coming of the messiah. I understand you all are doing " the way" But it's okay if it is something you all approved but not okay if you have a revelation and do something I am thinking well that's just not me . I truly do not belong there nor do i fit in. I truly thank Teresa she actually blessed me . I went on their summer hikes in 2023 wearing one of my tee shirts and nobody talked to me . It's so weird I hiked and nobody they were just into themselves . I don't have to try to fit in because I am already accepted and loved immensely by my Lord and savior . Imagine in February of 2024 . My Pastor Tim Delina, He is the senior pastor at Times Square Church was standing on the pulpit of Maranatha Chapel preaching and so was the whole group . That's how much the Lord loves me and every year they come out here now for a week and I am invited. We have a song we sing at TSC " Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom " nearly every service we sing it . I thank Jesus for technology because I can watch their service . It's tow and half hours long. It starts with prayer then worship is one hour and preaching is an hour and I just love it . I truly love my Jesus and truly love my church . I would remember where I used to stand and sit , i love the worship so vibrant and alive with impromtu prayer while singing and varied races singing together . It must be what heaven looks like . Today we are starting our three days of prayer and fasting and we will be praying for Isreal with Solu Isreal doing worship . Last year Solu Isreal did a night or worship and 34 countries tuned in and the you tube debuted at 14K vies presently it's over 26K . I personally did more then 100 views . It was amazing .They have home groups and baptism online. It's great They stand for the widows, orphans, oppressed and immigrant. Christianity for me is them . it's the whole package, love, acceptance, family and wherever you go you can tune in worship my neighbors hear me singing and worshipping with them joyfully. I leave you all with this quote from Roy T Bennett. " Shine with the Light of your own flame, and the world will glow differently" I know, when I wear my scripture based Tee shirts I get a lot of thumbs up and many young adults come up to me with a smile. I know it spoke to them and encourage them . A lady shopping in Walmart spent an hour chatting with me on the scripture while I was doing my shopping . it's my way of being so thankful for my salvation . The Lord saved me and brought me to this country to learn of Him . He saved me from being a Brahma Kumaris from the Brahma Kumaris world Spiritual University. A peace organization affiliated with the UN. I was born into a Hindu home but became a Brahmin with them at age 18 . Due to my knowledge of their scriptures . I have loved God and served Him my entire life and I am so happy to finally know the One, True Living God. His name is Jesus . He is Lord of all lords . King of all kings and God of all gods. Amen! and I know Him and He loves me dearly as the late Pastor William Carol always used to say the church is Jesus bride but no pastor or any congregant didn't die on the cross for you but Jesus did. I am so blessed and so loved that Jesus sent Pastor Tim Delina all the way from NY and plant him at Maranatha Chapel stage . Yep Jesus would leave the 99 to save the one and they treated me to a very nice dinner. I am good and okay . Accepted, Loved and Cherished and belong to The Lord's forever family Amen! It's all good no hard feelings, Please enjoy the pink lemon tree when it started bearing . It's from the Lord so say thank you for having me over at your home at the home group.
