Stopped by here for daily Mass during a recent visit to see family. Location was close and…read moreconvenient to our lodging and the schedule fit our itinerary perfectly. Really enjoyed Father's homily and the ambience of the church was prayerful and peaceful. I was here years ago during a special memorial Mass in honor of St Maximilian Kolbe but didn't remember too many details. Loved how the church is pretty much situated in a housing neighborhood giving the environs a quiet feel. There's lots of parking as I imagine on weekends it must get quite crowded. Added joy was that after Mass, Father brought out the Monstrance containing the Blessed Sacrament of our Lord's sacred Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Stayed for Adoration and confession afterwards. So grateful to Father for offering the sacrament of reconciliation since we missed our usual time during first Saturday due to airline travel. The priest is very young and fervent and we could see he loves Our Lord very much. Hope to stop by in the future if our travels bring us this way again. Mahalo for reading my review.

The congregation was large in those days and yes, it could seem to be a little cold to someone who is just joining the parish. But as the song goes it takes two to tango. I tried a Methodist church in my town (Old Bridge) but felt they were very pushy... Extremely welcoming but too pushy. That's when I decided to come back to St. John's to give it another try. I feel like I've found home again and have been attending for a few months now. I am happy with my decision. It's such a lively congregation and the pastor is right on and throws in some humor! If a person is unable to attend, the priests offer live streaming of the Mass. I have often visited the Church to visit and pray. In this time when many Churches had felt the need to curtail opportunities to visit a holy place, the priests of St.Mark's have endeavored to allow one the haven of a Catholic Church from early in the morning until late in the afternoon. Not a lot of parking, but I only ever visit during weekdays, so I'm not sure how hard it might be to find parking on days when people are in church. Not as big as many other cemeteries I have visited, but it is still gorgeous! The two buildings here are lovely as well. Perfect for photos, taking in the New Jersey history and paying your respects to the dead.

The food sold here is a a bit expensive though very tasteful and very ethnically Greek. The musical acts were nice though could have been a little more varied ....the concession stands were very neat and could have been run more efficient as per checkout. They had a kids corner with four different amusement park type games, possibly next year they can have more to accommodate more kids. The church tour was excellent and was presented every hour...don't miss it next year. It gives a basic history of Greece in a religious context. It is about 20 minutes long and you should not miss seeing the chapel next-door... very pretty. The festival runs three days.
