I recently visited St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and had a wonderful experience…read more I had called the church's number listed on Assembly of Canonical Bishops on the Friday before I visited, and the priest, Fr Bohdan, answered. I had asked him if they offered any weekday services here, and he said only on Sundays, which is understandable. He told me to come visit and pray with them that following Sunday. From the moment I arrived, Fr. Bohdan was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home as a visitor. St Andrew's itself has a strong Ukrainian heritage and many members are immigrants or have close ties to Ukraine, which gave the community a very authentic and vibrant feel. The church building is absolutely beautiful. The iconography, architecture, and reverent atmosphere immediately draw your attention toward worship. The Divine Liturgy was both solemn and uplifting, with beautiful chanting throughout the service. One thing I especially appreciated as an English-speaking visitor was Fr. Bohdan's effort to make the service accessible. While much of the liturgy was prayed in Ukrainian, he also served significant portions in English, including many of the prayers led by the clergy, the Scripture readings, and even the sermon. He preached the homily in both Ukrainian and English so that everyone present could follow along, which was a thoughtful gesture that made me feel truly welcomed, especially on the Sunday of the Paralytic, which is when I had attended. If you are curious about Orthodox Christianity, don't be intimidated by the fact that this is a Ukrainian parish. The community was warm and hospitable, and there was a genuine effort to include visitors. Whether you are a baptized Orthodox Christian, an inquirer into the faith, or simply interested in experiencing a traditional Christian service, St. Andrew's is well worth a visit.

I am desperately trying to find my "home" church. I was drawn to CCC after attending their fall festival a year ago. My family had a wonderful time and our interactions with church members was kind, polite and welcoming. Today we were greeted with the same genoristy. We parked in the guest parking spot which is right at the main entrance. We were immediately welcomed, with open arms, and guided to the welcome desk. I can't begin to put onto words how welcomed we felt. The kindness, hospitality and eagerness to make us feel comfortable was unbelievable. Our kiddos transitioned nicely into their respective classrooms. The rooms are nicely organized and spacious. We also appreciated the diligence in adhering to our youngest sons food allergies. The music during the service was moving. The service itself answered so many personal questions I had about trying this new church. The service was about 90+ minutes long. From what I gathered from the bulletin there are small groups, prayer nights and plenty of activities for children. I'm looking forward to visiting again.
