We've been to a ton and this ballpark holds its own, even compared to AA and AAA ballparks. The Parkview team does a tremendous job with the friendly entertainment, excellent service, great food and drink options, and an overall enjoyable MiLB venue... From Thirsty Thursdays to Friday and Saturday night games, Parkview Field offers something for everyone. If you're coming through FW, Parkview Field is a must stop.

It's clean, open, next door to two hotels and has a bunch of stuff to do for everyone. Team shop is awesome- spent too much up in there though! 20 different types of hats and jerseys and apparel. Bought a sweet hoodie and hat for about $100. Not a bad view in the entire park; obviously they have some suites and some cabanas along the outfield that are nice and private/ shaded. I imagine when it gets hot out, you just cook like their delicious hot dogs in that sun! (The hot dogs were really good!) They also offer a kids zone that you have to pay for and it's nothing too great. Bunch of blow up things to jump on and slide down. Beer garden is no garden. It's just a building in the outfield dead center that serves beer and backs up to the hotels. Will say, dang good beer selection. Yuengling and some Michigan brews too! It's a very comfy little stadium downtown. So much going on it can be hard to follow the game though. And, their food lines are atrocious! Takes FOREVER to get anything of substance food- wise. Two innings or more for a hotdog. Overall it was enjoyable and I'd make it a point to take in a game if headed that way in the country.

Side note: I will throw in that the only place we have gone and had the Irish soccer ref too. He is amazing, funny and interesting to watch. All teams that play there know him. He is one of our added bonuses. Tip - it is always colder than the temperature says so bring a jacket, blanket or both.

A large paved walking path, soccer fields, tennis court... not one, but TWO cool (and safe) playgrounds for children 2-12, which have modified equipment for disabled children and gathering spaces for all ages to encourage inclusivity. The bathroom facilities are unfortunately closed (I think this may be for the season,) but there was a portable toilet in the parking lot for use. There is also a splash pad that must be hopping in the summertime! Looking forward to seeing it in action. I don't live close by but the trek is worth it as the possibilities are endless for young children and the young at heart at Kreager Park.

I needed a place to take my granddaughter while my wife and daughter shopped for a bit at Jefferson Pointe. This filled that requirement perfectly. The accessibility by car and the parking area were more than adequate. The playground though not elaborate, was nice enough for our needs. The picnic pavilion provided a nice spot to sit in the shade and offered restrooms that were in decent shape at the end of the building. The thing that struck me most about this moderate-sized park was the extensive green space that made it feel even larger than what it was. It just created a refreshed feeling that was very satisfying. It looked like there was a baseball diamond at the far end of the park, though I did not venture down that way. If you're in the area and need a fresh-air respite, a place to let your kids spend some energy, or simply a place to sit outside to enjoy your sandwich or your coffee, this presents a place to satisfy those needs.

Since we came early, we decided to hang out at the beautiful Freimann Square park. It has an absolutely beautiful fountain. It was very relaxing to watch and sit by the fountain on a gorgeous sunny day. The park also has a large statue of General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, who ordered the creation of the original fort on the site that eventually became the City of Fort Wayne. Again, its a beautiful park and if your in the area or are visiting the nearby Arts United Center, you may want to relax at Freimann Square.

I love history and thought it would be fun to see Johnny Appleseed's tombstone since I was in the…read morearea. A fun little side quest turned into a 30 minute hunt through trails and grass and trees for his graveside. The grave is located off of a path and is very hard to get to. My husband and I found the grave and took a picture to remember it because we won't be coming back.

Honestly, the fact that Johnny Appleseed Park sits on Harry Baals Drive is probably one of the more interesting things about it, if you ask me. I never could find the Johnny Appleseed gravestone that the park is supposed to have. I drove all around! No gravestones to be seen. Oh, Johnny, where art thou? I ended up just parking and exploring the playground, dog park and the trails that go along the river. The river is a nice, scenic spot. I saw a boat launch along it, and a few people fishing. I stood on a deck that was located by the river, and just gazed out at the water. Fort Wayne has lots of water running through the city, and it was nice to enjoy some of it here at this little park. Johnny Appleseed Park is the site for the Johnny Appleseed Festival, which happens each year on the third full weekend in September. It's also a campground site, and has 40+ RV/camper sites, if you're into that sort of thing. Mostly, though, this is a nice community park and place to hang out and enjoy a little bit of Fort Wayne.
