The grounds of this place are beutiful and the church itself is very classic looking. There is also a private SDA school on the grounds. I haven't been to the church yet so I can't really review their services. I will say however that their website is a bit challenging to navigate to find service times and how to start attending. As far as being SDA goes, I don't think it is for everyone but, if you are SDA and you move to Raleigh or Cary, this seems like a beautiful church to take your family to. If you are not SDA and you are ever interested in learning more, this church seems very friendly and welcoming and their services are always packed. The SDA church is very community oriented.

Over the course of a couple years, I visited various churches hoping to find one where I felt truly welcome, where the people were real and authentic, and where the message resonated in a meaningful, modern way. After attending several services, I often left feeling disheartened. Too often, the messaging felt either exclusive or outdated, and I started to lose hope that a "unicorn" church even existed. I wanted a place that felt right, where the teachings of Jesus were brought into the present day and applied to the issues we're actually facing in the world. Then, in January 2025, I visited Crosspoint for the first time and knew immediately that I had found that place. What initially drew me in were the values listed on their website. What's kept me coming back week after week is the warmth, the community, and the incredibly thoughtful, inclusive messaging. Ironically, it was some of the negative reviews that intrigued me enough to check it out. You could feel the close-mindedness in many of those one-star comments, which only made me more curious to see for myself. I've since brought my daughters, and they've loved being a part of the youth groups, making new friends, and growing comfortable with Christianity in a way I never experienced growing up. They're learning life lessons about kindness, inclusivity, standing up for what's right, and embracing curiosity--things I deeply value as a parent. I'm beyond grateful to have found this church that I searched for for so long. It truly feels like home

We are a multicultural, spiritual family. In the beginning, everything seemed wonderful. People seemed welcoming and open and kind. I think they try really hard to be "welcoming to everyone", but unfortunately, there is definitely a distinct liberal or progressive undercurrent. We were looking for a church, that truly was a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of political views or religious background. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of Catholic churches, in which I was raised, because of the undercurrent of disdain for "sinners". Unfortunately, I feel this church falls into the same trap and is guilty of the same judgment just in the opposing sense. There are frequent and consistent snipes or comments or jabs, at the stupidity of certain demographics and individuals with certain political leanings during sermons. During the most recent sermon, Jeff, a pastor who doesn't even live in North Carolina, vowed to "get political". He stated " know a lot of you are getting uncomfortable and squirming your seats right now". He lamented about gun school violence, and how troubling it was that a woman was denied what he termed "reproductive healthcare"; which seems to be an attempt to use language to normalize abortion procedures. Jeff made further euphemisms towards the Republican candidates up for election in the state of North Carolina, and termed this presidential election, the most consequential in the history of our nation, parroting the echo chamber of leftist and mainstream media that has been pounding this drum for the last four years or more.

For years, I felt it would not be fair to review this church because I had left with a sour taste in my mouth about 7 years ago, but after returning today, I felt better prepared and less biased to be able to write a review. The pros: Pastor Mike preaches the truth and does it at a level every layman can understand. He may preach some very unpopular things, but the reality is, his preaching (that which I have heard) is Biblically sound. Diversity - everyone is welcome here (as opposed to some of the other local Baptist Churches). Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, Divorced, Married, Single, young, middle aged, older - it doesn't matter Unpretentious - come as you are and the church works with what they have. Grace is preached here - salvation by grace and faith, not some farce about "If you do good enough and work hard enough at it, you might get to heaven" The cons: it's a Baptist church that errs on the side of legalism. Legalism is rules. While the "Baptist" church preaches grace, it still seems to require a number of rules to be followed. When I first attended here roughly 9 years ago, in appearance, this was a non-denominational church, and my bride and I were looking specifically for non-denominational. We did not find out PLCC was Baptist until we attended the membership class several months later. That started to raise a number of questions for us at that time. I see PLCC now advertises themselves as Baptist. Upon arriving today, I was greeted at the door by a couple of folks, but the greeting seemed a bit frosty - almost as though I should turn around and go somewhere else. I guess I don't blame some folks for feeling that way toward me after I left the way I did 7 years back. I do have a few friends here, and they understood my leaving when and how I did, but some of the others, like I said, it seemed like a rather frosty reception when I walked in the door. With all of that said, it's a decent place to worship if one is looking for a Baptist Church with a congregation and pastor that care about the community and each other. I cannot say I am a four star fan or that it's five star as good as it gets for me, but I certainly think it's an okay place to worship and learn the truth about God.

I told my bride not to fret, I'd grown up in a Baptist church so it couldn't be that bad and this church was touted to having one of the best pre-school programs in the area - so much so they could get away with charging people just to get on a waiting list. Typically I'll give a place a handful of visits before making a final decision on whether or not it's going to be my home church. Not this time. Our experience at this particular church is/was very limited - with maybe two or three exceptions this is one of those churches where the congregation were so unfriendly and so seemed to have their noses in the air and so did not seem genuine that we could not, in good conscience, go back. I had to ask myself if the congregation was really having that bad of a day. It would literally take the Lord picking me up off the ground against my will and shoving me through the door and holding me down in the pew for me to attend here on any given Sunday. The unfriendly atmosphere itself was such that I couldn't tell you what was preached from the pulpit. Lastly, if there was any diversity in the congregation, it went unnoticed. I grew up in the north where the Baptist church was very different than it is here in the bible belt and I hope this particular congregation does not personify the entire Southern Baptist Convention. Please, it's just my honest opinion, so no need to send rioters with pitchforks to my house.
