If I could leave zero stars I would. I took a majority of course when doing my associates for…read moretransfer. At my original school the courses state UC and USC eligible for transfer. The course description matching the course description at UTPB. However, they will not honor the course because the class is not labeled (numbered) the same as UTPBs. I've had 2 advisors in 1 year and each have given me a different degree plan, and lacked updating it with courses I took at UTPB. The advisor I currently have told me I didn't need a class and then after dropping it came back and said I actually did need the class. I have reached out to the Dean several times and am now being ignored after our meeting 3 weeks ago to find out why my classes aren't transferring and when I could actually graduate. This school is not worth the time and energy. There's a reason it's a cheaper UT school. I would not recommend!

When asked about the tour they said they didn't have enough people to take around so it was cancelled. So my Male counselor then took me into his office to go over a schedule for the semester. He handed me a huge course book and said, "here are the classes we have at UTPB, look through them and tell me which classes you decide on..." then turned away and began to finish his solitaire game on the computer. Didn't ask me my major or what I was going for or anything. Then when done with the book and had chosen what I hoped be right, he then put together a schedule as printed it out for me and said, "Thanks for signing up with us and here is your new schedule, have a great day." This experience sucked and got worse from here. *My next experience had to do with my professor, "Jamie Hughes", and it didn't go over so well because her teachings were ridiculous. I was going for psychology minor and she has completely helped me not to make a sheep decision. The fact that she told me and a classroom of 30 other minds TO JUDGE PEOPLE before you talk to them, just so I may know what to talk about with that person, IS ABSURD! Then I raised my hand to ask why would we do this? She shut me down and completely went around my question. I was appalled and I wouldn't want someone to judge me before they get to know me or ask questions. That is falling into a small minded environment and holds you back from really getting to know any person. I had written the president as well to let her know of the teachings going on in her school but got NO RESPONSE. So NO, I WOULD NO RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYBODY until they have changed their staff and way of teachings for our future generations to come.

Decided to try out this beauty school since midland college beauty school is closed on Saturdays…read more They don't take appointments so just walk in and they'll be happy to take you. Don't do like I did and get there around lunchtime when a lot of people are gone. I got there at 12 and they told me to come back around 12:30 because they were full and everyone else was at lunch. I went to the mall and came back at 12:40. They gave me a wonderful young lady. She was amazing. We talked about our families and since she had never done african american hair before so i gave her some tips to make her life better. My hair turned out great. I got it washed and blow dried and then I come home and flat iron it myself. My total came to $6.50. You can't beat that! Please keep in mind they don't take cards unless your total is over $10 and you must have cash to tip your beautician. I'll be going back every two weeks. My hair looks great!

This school/company is awful! They ve held my hours for the past six months, unwilling to release…read morethe hours my loans covered because they said I owed them for the remaining 499 hours I didn t clock at their school. While I attended, they used and abuse me and the other students. I took almost 6-8 clients every day once I got to the third phase. I stopped learning new skills and hated every day at that school. The supplies I paid for always broke, the school was practically falling apart every day, I got written and sent up for going to lunch instead of taking a client that would ve taken me 4-5 hours to do. I hadn t taken a break all day. Our hours were constantly wrong and adjusted, whenever we needed help or had a question, we could never find an instructor because they were always on break out front smoking a cigarette. I dropped out because I knew I wasn t getting the proper education that I paid for and they never gave me exit counseling and they never told me I owed them money until I tried to sign up for my practical. This is an awful school to attend. All they want is your money. They don t care about the education. The students are just their paychecks. I've seen these students/ instructors destroy customers' hair and not give a crap about it. These people could care less if students get the proper education or even clock their hours. They adjusted our hours so much, we never knew if it was right or wrong! It took the students almost walking out altogether one day for the owner, Jerry Johnson, to come and talk to us. No one would pay attention to our complaints or change anything no matter how much we complained. We stopped learning when we got to phase three and became the slaves of ITS. All we did was wet set after wet set and we stopped getting floor classes or new techniques on how to cut or color hair. This school doesn't care what happens to you. When Jerry Johnson finally came to visit our school to "fix" the problems, he found that the majority of the students' hours were off....way off. There was a girl who had 100 hours worth of school missing. That's almost a whole month unaccounted for. Do your research before signing up for this school. There are better options and they will screw you over.
