Not that I don't like my priests but he's just THAT awesome and I hope the town of Rochester, MN knows just what a special gem they have in him. In fact, people who aren't even Episcopalians would love his humor and down to earth personality. I attended the Sunday Rite Two service as well as convinced my non-church going mother to come to the Monday healing service. We are here for her health so what does she have to lose, plus, I need God's healing to help me stay strong for her. Fr. Nick and everyone I met were very nice and welcoming. If you're in the area and want a little peace for your soul, go here!

What happened to Autumn Ridge? A half decade ago they must have ranked right up there with the most…read moreinfluential groups in Rochester. Every time we turned around it seemed we would run into some really great people volunteering in one of Autumn Ridge's different volunteer programs. They must have had hundreds of programs at the time. When we drove past their campus back then, the parking lot was FULL... every night of the week. Sundays were so big they required Rochester Police Department officers to manage the traffic flow entering and exiting their campus... every week. Even had a garden just off the entrance to the church that distributed more than a ton of food to the Channel One food bank we read about once and would see the volunteers out there all summer working in that garden. Recently, we attended a half full Sunday and now we understand... not a great experience.

After attending two services I'm left with nothing more than this is a 'feel good' church with…read morelittle to no biblical teaching. Lots of technology, little substance. Todays sermon was a podcast based production on leadership. I thought we were taught to be followers of Christ. Instead, the service was surprisingly egocentric and nothing was taught of the nature of God and following Christ. If you are looking for a church that excels at eye-catching graphics and pop worship music, this would be a good feed. If you are looking for a reason to open your Bible and dig a little deeper, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I attended my first service here this morning and it was wonderful! You never know what to expect…read morewhen trying out a new church, so my daughter and I had no expectations! The music was amazing, the pastor's message was direct and relatable. The amount of time in each area of the service was perfect and not drug out. There was no pressure from anyone and they made you feel welcome. Everyone seemed genuine. I even ran into my aunt and cousin who first ever brought me to God, which I am forever grateful for! His timing always! Will definitely return!

My husband, Dave, and I come from very different backgrounds. We were both brought up in different…read morefaiths, with divergent emphasis on creed and dogma. We found it very difficult to agree on a church. After finding the First Unitarian Universalist Church we found a place to call home. The congregation is full of character and eager to help. This church is a very active in community events in and around Rochester, Minnesota. Even though I am wheelchair-bound after surgery to remove a brain tumor, I am welcome in various committees. My opinion and needs are valued. I feel empowered here. I am able to utilize my strengths to help others. To me, that is what spirituality is. I urge anyone looking for a place to feel whole, necessary, and loved to join us for a service. You will not be disappointed!
