People all over sitting on the floor in the lobby. We've known about rain for weeks so this church should have prepared for it. I think the most disappointing thing is they didn't have the volume up in the lobby so you can hear the seminar inside. Even the bathroom speakers were on low. Inside the chairs were too close together (although very comfortable)... I'd prefer stadium seating with a cup holder. I personally didn't care for the evangelical style of this conference. I won't be attending this anymore.

I've visited Celebration multiple times (to be open-minded and not base it upon one visit). Each time was more unsettling. The obsession these followers have specifically for Joe is crazy. They treat him like he's a celebrity. It's nearly occultic, in my opinion. I am not someone who is unlearned or ignorant to various ministries/worship styles. I've seen it first hand, having attended Steve Munsey's "church" back in Indiana. Steve got up there and put on a show every Sunday. It was theater, entertaining, and "magical". He had as much cosmetic surgery done (and his wife) as Joan Rivers. He would arrive in a limo, with his own personal security team, all dressed in black suits and ties with earpieces and dark sunglasses (in a dark auditorium haha). He lived in a mansion with a security team around the parameters. The ministry team would force you to speak in tongues directly after getting baptized, or had security standing at the doors in the room so you couldn't leave until you showed evidence of speaking in tongues to the ministry staff. Joel Osteen would frequently visit and was a good friend of Steve's. Like the others mentioned above, this church models the same makeup (although not to the extreme as Munsey's "church"). It's all about prosperity gospel, receiving and being "blessed" in all ways, manifesting personal wealth, and giving generously to the "church" (a.k.a. the Pastoral team) financially. It's not about truly serving, each other or the community. It's not about truly connecting with others. I have encountered MANY people who have said (when asked what church they attend): "Oh, I attend Celebration Church, it's the best". Yet, also say when I ask follow up questions: "Oh..no, I'm not involved in any small or fellowship group". "No, I don't really have time to serve. I just like the worship style." "No, they don't have a special needs ministry". "I've been attending for years and I don't feel connected or seen." "Oh, I mean I only attend online and watch the services while doing other things". I've dated a few individuals (and even married one) who claimed to be involved at Celebration only to find out 1) involved meant "I watch online every now and then", or 2) they were actively in the occult (astrology, divination, sorcery, etc.), and/or 3) they didn't even pray to Jesus, or use His name. They were praying to (a) God alright, but their God was money, prosperity, getting everything and anything they wanted (i.e. taking from others or expecting handouts) and it was never stamped with the ONLY seal that gets our requests to God directly - "in Jesus' name!" Celebration is very similar to the other mega churches that preach prosperity and wealth, and use guilt and shame to manipulate you to "give" to their cause. It's not biblical folks. It's the antithesis of what Jesus came to fulfill.

The pastor is truly gifted by the Holy Spirit and delivers spirit filled messages every week. Every Sunday, I leave church with the Holy Spirit, stirred up in me , in a big way , and in a good way. They have online church as well. they do community events and they have life groups for just about every type of situation. They also have a wonderful children's ministry. Thing Two came…read morehere for the first time this summer and participated in the week-long faith-based day camp from June 26th to June 30th, led by Pastor L.J. MuCulloch. This camp is designed for Kinder through 5th graders (who have just graduated 5th grade) and runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Children who participate in this camp play games, read scripture, and parents can purchase Chick-fil-A meals for $12.00 per day for kiddos. Each day, the children learn about various bible passages that align with the theme of the camp. Each summer, the camp theme changes, and this year, it was "Road Trip" (taking a trip to discover Christ). On the last day of camp, parents are invited to camp to hear 'the word' with their children, learn about what has been happening throughout the week, and have a meal with their campers. Aside from the faith-based center of the camp, as a parent, I appreciated the communication that was sent to parents daily via email and on paper as well as the security protocols put in place to drop off and pick up campers safely and effectively. As a bonus, professional photos of campers are taken daily doing various types of activities. Parents can view these photos on a private website and download photos of their camper(s). Thing Two liked this camp so much to the point that she asked to volunteer next year at this location. We weren't expecting much as the others were fairly small but the size of this one can be overwhelming. It was multiple stories tall and had piles of things for sale. Each room had more and more vendors. If you're looking for the crafty sort of gifts this place has everything from wood-carved crosses to jewelry to hair ties. Parking was hard despite the large lots because it was overflowing with people. For mobility impaired folks there's only one elevator which can make it hard to navigate as it's also pretty slow.

And, yes, he delivers the message in a very similar way and mannerisms as did Chuck Smith, the founder of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in the 1970's. Very Traditional Southern Baptist with TONS OF MUSIC! They have…read more *2 Adult Choirs, *an ABLAZE Youth (teenager) choir (That travels) and *even brings the little ones in to sing on occasion. * There is also a Drama Troop that is a lot of fun. *There is an Orchestra and *a Handbell Choir. *They also have music lessons on piano for children. *There is also a Contemporary worship group in the church to boot. Between the ABLAZE choir and the drama troop they even feed the kids dinner. Truly something for everyone. Was incredible blessed to find it. Have made many friends here. They are now part of my church family. There is a lot of love here and yes people are often baptized. I've seen quite a few. Just today an entire family was baptized. Was so beautiful to watch. I was looking for a place to play Cello in an Orchestra for worship and I found it here with plenty to play as well as a wonderful, kind, funny and extremely knowledgable Music Minister, Corey Ash. He most certainly knows exactly what he is doing and has a lovely voice himself. His family also plays harp and sings. The orchestra and choirs and are just such wonderful groups of people. There are also many high school, College kids and Adults that come lend their instrumental skills to the Orchestra as well - even if just for one service. Our Pastor is on point and not afraid to talk about the things that many other pastors shy away from. This world needs a whole LOT more of that. In between the services they have a bible school and many different gatherings for that as well. The campus is large and well appointed. There are many different group of different ages and interests - something for everyone. The demographic tends to skew a bit older, but I love all kinds of people. Older people certainly have their gifts and they preserve the Texas way of life and Gospel that the crazy 2022 world has abandoned, in fact it feels NORMAL here, praise the lord for that! I certainly love traditional family values and am Very happy here. Very grateful to get to play worship music on Cello every week and be Conducted by a Pastor that isn't intimidated by people who can read music. Too many other church worship pastors (victory city) only know chords/play guitar by ear - have no clue what to do with a Cello and string those people along - pun intended. I spent 10 months waiting for an opportunity to play at Christmas only to have them try to mic my Cello (when I have a mic on it and they knew it - but decided to use theirs) and then tell me they can't use me because there aren't enough inputs on their mixing board. Yet they had 4 guitarists and an entire choir of singers individually mic'd. Doesn't seem to be a problem for them when they want to use a someone, then excuses for when they don't. No matter, God - found me a much better place to play at Crestview Baptist in Georgetown. If you want a Traditional Southern Church with amazing music then come on down. If you are also looking to share your musical talents - then contact Corey there to audition (I know they are looking for a Tuba player 12/22 - but open to a lot of other instruments - could sure use more Violins) this can be your wonderful church family too!
