For my entire life,…read moremy dad has had a little St. Christopher (patron saint of travelers) statuette in his vehicle. When i finally got my first car a few years ago, he bought one for me (can't buy one for yourself! - not in my superstitious mind, anyways). Before I flew for the very first time (huge fear of flying), I got a tiny St. C to put in my purse. I ALSO have one of those prayer cards with St. C. on the front and the motorist's prayer on the back for my wallet! So, over the years, Universal Church Supplies is where I have gone to purchase all my St. Christopher related items. I got my husband one for his car and wallet as well. Like I said, I'm not religious and I don't attend church, but this is a pretty cool store. It seems like they have quite a large selection of books, as well as cards, movies, candles, statuettes, jewellery, journals, those priest robes and lots of little knick knacks. As the name suggests, they also seem to have a lot of actual church supplies - pamphlets and the like - but I couldn't tell you what these items are called. I even got a little book there today called Worry Therapy, which is more spiritual than of a specific religion. The store is large, bright and quiet, and the staff are calm and helpful. It's kind of interesting to look around this shop, religious or not.

Some of the items featured include canvas art, figurines, jewelry, scarves, and porcelain dolls. I was pretty impressed they had a nice selection of Ty beanie babies as well which are harder to find now that the craze for those has calmed down. Some of the collectibles were of fairly high quality from brand names I recognized like Bearington Bears and others seemed more like made in China type things but everything regardless of where it comes from is fairly nice and none of the prices seemed budget breaking. If you or someone you need to buy a gift for is interested in collectibles or inspirational themed gifts this seems like a safe bet to find what you are looking for.

There doesn't really seem like there is too much in that mall, but this store makes up for everything. Come To The Garden is a very cute little place where you can find some decorative items. If you are religious then there's some of stuff for you, including angel figurines, books and CD's on religious themes. Even if you're not religious but like inspirational sayings on coasters, canvas ($20) or wood boards ($8) then this is the place to pick some up. They had some really great pieces for the home; you could put them up somewhere in your house and have a kind of motto for your family or home. They had some unique pieces of jewelry made from stone and glass. Oh, I found some really great photos that they had. They were these beautiful pictures of these big strong trees and they were kind of faded in color to make it antique looking; they came in these really nice simple wooden frames. These photos where not too big (I don't know the dimensions) but they were about $16 each. The people who worked there, I don't know if they were the owners or not, but they were really nice. The store was filled to the rim with things, so you can take your time and look around. I would advice you to be careful and try not to knock anything down; the store is a tight fit if you have a big bag like I do.

I purchased a Santevia water filter tank listed as "on sale." It was only after I paid that the…read moreinvoice noted the item was "cracked" and "damaged". This is a major safety risk for a water filtration system, yet my original receipt made no mention of this damage. When I immediately contacted the owner, Wanda, to cancel, she refused. She claimed the order had "already shipped" and could not be stopped. She tried to justify selling broken safety equipment by claiming the damage was disclosed, but that text was buried far down the page, well below the "Add to Cart" button where it was intentionally difficult to see. Wanda eventually agreed to refund the item but refused to refund the shipping cost ($28.35), claiming it was too late because the item had shipped. This was a lie. The tracking number confirmed the package never left their facility; the status remained "Label Created" for a week. Most egregiously, Wanda admitted in a later email that she did void the label and received a full refund from Canada Post. She explicitly stated she was retaining my shipping funds to cover "the time it took" to process the order. She essentially admitted to pocketing money for a service (Freight) she never rendered and for which she was fully reimbursed. To make matters worse, they have already re-listed the cracked, unsafe tank on their website, likely hoping the next buyer won't notice. Do not trust this business.

I found that they could have shut down during Covid but they stayed open to help and support the community. Right on, this is a business i love to support.

I like to support local where I can so I decided to check it out. Despite the address being on 122 St, it's actually located in a ground floor suite right on 121 St right across from the Brewery District, close-ish to 104 Ave. There is angled parking out front. It's a cute and quaint little boutique filled with treasures beautifully displayed. My favourite was a selection of jewelry tucked in between pages of an antique novel by the door (when you see it, you'll understand). There was inspirational home decor, some cool stuff like concrete diamonds, some baby and kid's clothing (including these adorable baby headbands), lots of unique jewelry, cool razors, little succulents.. It's a bit like shopping at a local market but with everything in one pretty place. There is even a little coffee corner at the back. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend popping if you're looking for some unique gifts.
