The congregation is as expansive in backgrounds and cultures as is all of America. It is a microcosm of society. Hardly is it a cult since the definition of a cult is: "A relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister." With a seating capacity of the main auditorium exceeding 7,500 and the Spanish auditorium exceeding 5,000 not including the other properties, extension/satellite ministries and chapels throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, this is far from a "small group." Strange? Yes, in this day in age, being righteous, i.e. following the commandments and faith taught throughout the Bible is a very strange thing indeed. That's why this whole world is going to hell in a handbasket so to speak. So yes, we are a peculiar people as is stated in the scriptures (Deuteronomy 14:2, Deuteronomy 26:18, Titus 2:14, 1Peter 2:9.) Sinister? Hardly. Unless of course you find helping people improve their relationship with God and eachother sinister. And while there is a "dress code" for the staff and most of the volunteers, it is not a requisite for attending or joining the church. The genuine change that is preferred is for a person to allow the Gospel of Christ to change them from within and then they themselves can change that of the outward appearance when they deem fit. "You don't get better to get Saved, you get Saved to get better." is a common expression used in this regard. I have been attending since August 2003 and participated in volunteering and outreach efforts throughout the years, I can assure you that First Baptist Church is for showing people they are loved and the way to Christ.

That agreement was mutually revised in 2014 to reflect the production's continued use of my music. Royalty payments stopped in 2018. Over the years I've tried every private avenue I could think of, including invoices, emails, certified letters, documentation, and legal counsel. Earlier this year I was told leadership was reviewing the matter, but after providing everything they requested, communication once again stopped. I'm posting this only after exhausting every private and professional effort to resolve it. I remain hopeful that Family Christian Center's leadership will choose to address this in a manner consistent with the values it teaches.

They have such a love for serving their community and are extremely welcoming to any newcomers. We always joke around that we are a "melting pot" because we are not just one race, we are many! They opened a park to the public, so they say. I took some kids to the park, and the security guard glared at us, causing one 5 year old little girl to cry, this after being refused access to their bathroom. I saw the pastor a few days later, he told me that the bathroom was cleaned already for Sunday and they didn't appreciate my asking kids to use it because it would have messed up the bathroom. Guess the pastor isn't familiar with the story of Mary and Martha. He then told me to make arrangements with their session next time I want to take kids to the park which sign says is open for all, seemingly forgetting about Jesus saying "bring the children to me." Terrible church that seemingly doesn't follow the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

However, this pastor calls me (that was fine, it's normal) but after I told him I already have a church, he ignored and continued his pitch. Usually when they call and you say you already have a church, they generally ask which one then say that you're always invited here. Not this guy, though, I say I have a church, and he continues. I say what he's saying is nice and all, but I already have a church and am an Elder. He continues his pitch. We finally hang up, and I thought that was that, but no; he calls again trying to talk me into going there. I try to be polite because he's a pastor, but he wouldn't give up. We hang up, and I hoped that was that. Nope, this guy actually had the audacity to come to my house, UNINVITED, to try to convince me to come back. He also harassed me through Facebook to come back to his church. Needlessly to say, I never did, and neither should anybody else. Also, ask him about his style and he does it by insulting other churches saying they are too much like a library, being too quite. I like a church having a library-esqe way about them; it's more solemn that way.

Found this little Catholic Church out in Hammond Indiana one day and stayed for Mass. They have a 4…read morepm Saturday Mass which a lot of people like because it gives you a nice early start on your weekend activities. The church is located directly across the street from the Hammond public library. The church is very nice...old but kept up well. No air conditioners so they provide lots of fans. So expect warm in the summer and drafty cool in the winter...but it remains home to many. The staff we met were warm and welcoming. One thing about a Catholic Church (and many others I am sure) is when you walk in you pretty know exactly what you are going to get - that is a nice comforting feeling. We were not disappointed here. This church has been here for decades and has experienced all the changes one sees as neighborhoods age and younger people don't follow in their parents footsteps. But even with the smaller size All Saints is a vibrant faith community. We have been here many times and will continue to visit...try it yourself on day.

The preaching is from the King James Version of the Bible. The congregants are kind and visitors are made to feel welcome and given the opportunity to learn about salvation and fully understand. The women's group is very active and there is fellowship in and outside of church. There are opportunities for service. The Sunday evening and Wednesday night services are held at the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Transportation is provided to anyone in need of a ride to church. There is a nursery for very small children, however the church is family integrated which I like. This church is not part of the new IFB movement (this is just FYI). Young people are encouraged to attend Bible college. Visit and I believe you will be blessed.
