I come here nearly every weekend. I've only been on Saturday and Sunday so I can't comment about…read morethe weekdays, but if you're looking for an easy place to park without a lot of traffic I suggest visiting on Sunday. Just be careful in the parking lot, it's small and no one really seems to pay close attention to their surroundings-I've had a few near misses. Also be aware that on the weekends there's typically one or two homeless people out front. They've never been a problem but if you're uncomfortable about that sort of thing consider this your warning. The main branch is where I typically go. I usually request a few books to pick up and then browse while I'm there. I've never had a problem checking out or waiting in line etc. The staff is friendly enough, not very outgoing in my experience, but friendly and knowledgeable whenever I've interacted with the staff.

Every interaction we've had has been positive. Everyone is so friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. As a mom, I appreciate having a place where my family feels welcome. We spend a lot of time at the library, and this branch has become one of our favorite places to visit. The selection is great, the building is lovely, and the staff consistently go above and beyond. No unemployed dirty panhandlers like at the downtown branch, and no mothers with 4 kids screaming while they are on the computer. Maybe a tad smaller then some of the other branches, but the decor is like I am in someones private book collection. Very user friendly. And is is in such a private, almost secret location, over in the corner by the gas pumps by the Meijers store on Cleveland. Be nice to yourself. Read a book everyday. Help America be smart!

I'm one of the parents who enjoys visiting the library on any campus. For me the most significant thing about the library is the name. Hesburgh was the driving force that led the way in making Notre Dame a coeducational institution. Thank you Father Hesburgh! Five Stars it is.

This library is clean and spacious.
