The church was built in the early 1960s by the parishoners themselves. Contrary to another review, it was not built in the 1950s. St Patrick's had a grade school which closed in 1969, unfortunately. I remember when we students & the nuns went over to the church to pray for Pres. Kennedy the day he was shot. I have many good memories, and of course, the sad day of the Kennedy Assasination. Both my parents had their funerals at St Patrick's, as well. The design was based on the style of the Hebrew tabernacle which held "THe Holy of Holies/Ark of the Covenant when they wandered in the desert!

Might as well see what all the fuss was about. When you first walk up to the building, there are people there to open the doors/greet you. (Let me just say, any place that serves free food already gets a thumbs up in my book.) Walk into the auditorium to live music with colored lights and big screens (Hello, Sunday morning concert). There are people also in the auditorium to help you find a seat. The service itself wasn't bad. The day I went, there was a guest speaker from a church in LA. His "sermon" (if you can even call it that. It sure didn't feel like the typical sermon) was well-spoken with relevant points for the religious and non-religious. Now imagine a beautiful restaurant with ambient warm lighting, a table laid out with fine linens, warm candles flickering, and fine ornate dishes; servers dressed impeccably who are respectful and serve with love, food is delivered with utmost care and respect, prepared by a chef who cares deeply about providing wholesome, healthy ingredients and seasoned perfectly; all while beautiful music is orchestrated in the background. St. Monica's is that fine restaurant tending to every aspect of respect, love, and truth in the quest to bring parishioners closer to salvation and peace in our Lord, closer to a life worthy of the greatest sacrifice of all time, our dearest Lord Jesus Christ. The teaching is very scripturally sound and the pastoral team has a heart for the community. The church is linked to The Bridge in Mustang and the new Bridge OKC, so there are all of the programs and ministry opportunities of a large church in a more intimate, developing setting. As a new church, they meet at the Intermediate school, but plans are underway to build a new facility. We visited six or seven churches when we moved here and this is definitely the place for our family!
