I asked for a large round bouquet, of which I showed her many pictures of examples, and my bouquet turned out to be the same size as my bridesmaid's...small. I don't know if she couldn't read her own handwritting or what because she uses a paper form to write down what is needed, and after a few changes it got incredibly hard to read, but I had the wrong flowers in my bouquet. I felt very frustrated and hopeless after meeting with her and discussing how flowers that I previously thought I'd be able to get in Sept. weren't going to be available afterall and had to choose a whole new bouquet. Not only was my bouquet very small and the wrong white flowers, the pink garden roses of which I paid so much for were browning when I got them. The arrangement itself looked thrown together with the colors not evenly blended throughout...a chunk of this kind of flower here, chunk of this kind of flower there. She sent an apology bouquet to my house after my mother-in-law told her how terrible the flowers were and the arrangement sent to my house were also browning and wilting, not quite as bad as my wedding bouquet though.

Score 1,000,000 for my little sister! And for Southern Floral Shop!! The greenery was abundant and of so many textures and dimensions. Red carnations and red roses. Frosted pine cones. Plaid ribbon rimmed in gold. And two beautiful candles in the middle -- at different heights. Whoever composed this amazing beauty should get an award. Plus great directions on keeping the arrangement healthy with wonderful watering directions, including having some element of holding the excess water, so it doesn't leak. Discussed with the florist that we wanted different bouquets for two events for the same person, and that it was important that the flowers not be ones that were poisonous to cats, and named several flowers I knew to avoid. All sounded good, I was promised two beautiful bouquets, and agreed to pay $150. Went to pick them up today on arrival in town, and both bouquets were identical, but more importantly filled with lilies and carnations, two extremely toxic-to-cats flowers I'd specifically asked to avoid. I gave them time to rework the bouquets, and arrived to pick them up. They're fine - still pretty much identical and not as full as they were initially, but fine. I asked [a different staff member was there this time] if they could wrap the bottom of the stems as they had been originally to protect them until I could get them in water. I was told I'd have to pay additional for that. Just not a great experience overall. I expected that notes were taken during my initial call that would translate to whom ever assembled the bouquets, and I also would have expected a little special care after the mistake. I could have done as well at a good supermarket for a lot less, and gotten a plastic sheet for the bouquet there for free.
