They have two services in the morning where I attended the earliest service which seemed non-existent. There was only one person playing a guitar and even though the church was very small there must of been maybe 30 people attending. From the moment we entered the room we were made to feel welcome. Every person made it their business to greet us warmly. Each time I've visited I've been impressed with the pastors and the congregation. Pastor Peter presents the gospel in a way that reaches out to people rather than closing them off. He teaches the fundamentals of living this Christian life and how to show love "in action". Pastor Maria, who has an infectious smile is right by his side, sometimes dedicating children, pumping up the congregation in preparation for an event and other times teaching a junior church class. Each Sunday we have the opportunity to meet someone new as we greet each other when the children are released to their classes. Pastor Peter's sermons are relevant and topical and each week I walk out feeling I've been gifted a nugget of truth that I can meditate on and share with my "neighbor. They are unapologetically an informal contemporary fellowship of believers and I am so glad they are! Pamela

This church shares a minister with the United Methodist Church in Garrison, N.Y., and the congregation to which she ministers - the pastor was a woman, although I don't know if she is still serving either congregation - is very small, and definitely older. When I arrived, everyone was singing hymns as one, and the minister was leading them very vocally in song. She seemed nice and cheerful, and the congregants, who probably numbered around 20 or so, appeared to like her. The layout of this church was a little confusing for me. The church looks grand and imposing from the outside, but when you walk into the vestibule, you immediately realize that the sanctuary is not straight ahead, as one would assume, but upstairs. That's right - you have to take the stairs. If you walk straight ahead, you end up in the community room, also known as the place where Cold Springers vote on any election day. Choose either the sweeping wooden staircase to the left or to the right and make your way to the upstairs hallway, where you can walk through one of the doors and enter the sanctuary. I found the sanctuary a tad small given the apparent size of the church, and it is dominated by a massive pipe organ that was really belting it out when I arrived. The organ is at the front of the church, and three sections of pews (note: there is no center aisle here) face it. The windows are plain stained glass, which lets in a great deal of sunshine, and the only ornamentation that I could see was a framed picture of Christ in the Garden on one wall. That's it. It's a Protestant church, after all - the lack of ornamentation is, I am sure, standard. As I was leaving, one of the older congregants approached me, said hello and made it known that I was welcome back any time. He was very nice. It certainly seems like a nice country church. For those who would like to grace the doors of Cold Spring United Methodist, the sole Sunday service starts at 9 or 10 a.m., I believe, so get there in plenty of time to hear the service (unlike me). Note: Prior to attending the (end) of a service here, I drove past once and saw a wedding party gathered on the steps for pictures. So for anyone looking for a church in which to celebrate their wedding, they might be worth a look, although I am not sure if you have to be a member in order to use the building.

It's a beautiful church, with the organ upstairs. The floors were a bit slippery, like it was just waxed. It's not overly decorated but has a warm, welcome feeling. I'm not sure if this church shares with another denomination, but I think we attended an abbreviated Catholic mass. My cousin didn't receive communion, nor did the congregation. We did get the 2 readings but not a complete wedding mass. The only downside is there was not a lot of parking onsite, perhaps 4 spots. I am guessing the congregation are locals who walk to church? I found parking across the street, which was about a minute walk across a not so busy intersection.

The sanctuary holds a lot of people and with such a small parking lot parking is a complete nightmare; cars are parked in no particular pattern. When we entered it wasn't obvious where the main sanctuary was at so if you are a first timer you may want to get there when others are also entering the building, otherwise you will wonder about aimlessly. They begin with "hymns" which I'm not a fan of but after the quick hymn they do sing charismatic christian songs, however I didn't find the church to be charismatic in the strictest sense of the word. On my visit they had a guest speaker who was decent at best and certainly didn't provide for an overall awesome experience; just a good one. If you are into a mid-sized church, a few hymns mixed with a few contemporary christian songs then this may be the church for you. They do provide children services for the youth during service and if you have a toddler they even provide a neat buzzer, like you get at a restaurant, in case your toddler needs your immediate attention while you are at the main service. This I thought was a really neat feature for the children.

It was very strange that I received the card with daily prayers that I can give in remembrance. My friend in Kentucky a month or so ago asked me to pray and send cards to her son that was fighting colon cancer. I started writing to him and he enjoyed cards from me. Yesterday at 9:38am he passed away in Louisville where he lived. I heard from his mother on Saturday he didn't have much time. But I certainly was shocked that yesterday I found the remembrance card in my mailbox. It will be perfect acknowledgment for my friend (his mother). He was a young man and just married in 2022. It's also very strange I just reviewed Ford Motor Company. When I wrote the Ford review I didn't know this young man worked at Ford. He also asked all of us to write to Senator Mitch McConnell regarding funding for clinical trials. His medical team had to find alternative treatment when he could no longer participate in the clinical trials. Funding is necessary for friars missions and doctors medial! Naturally I have supported the Franciscans. St. Francis was always my favorite Saint. If you get to Garrison you may want to visit the center. I'll continue to support financially as I can. They sure are spiritually connected with me. The card was timely.

It comes with rice, it's quite filling; combine it with an ice cold beer; and you've got a winning combination to enjoy, under the tent, listening to Greek music. There seem to be more vendors, now, with a wider variety of goods. Plenty of seating under the tent. Parking is a bit of a problem.

I visited for the second time, and the first and last time I went was in June 2019. The layout consists of a big tent with many tables to eat and vendors selling various products. They also host events, such as a band and even dances, hosted by the church. The menu is extensive and offers many choices. The gyro is the highlight, with beef, lamb, or chicken options. Another big item is the French fries and Greek fries (which are very good). They also provide desserts and drinks, including alcohol. Check the menu for even more items. I was impressed with the gyro chicken, which was very tasty and messy (as all of them are), and the Greek fries. Also, be aware of some prices, as they've increased. Parking can be a nightmare, so be prepared to have patience, as I did at early dinner time. It was fun, busy, and lively.
