The ER doctor, Dr. Bradbury, was uncaring and unknowledgeable with my symptoms. What he recommended upon discharge could have made me very sick, much worse than I already was. I'm thankful I knew enough to check with my regular doctor first. Dr. Bradbury also said a specialist would contact me, it's been over two weeks and I have never received a call. Even though I had two separate infections and swelling he chose to send me home as sick as I was with no medication. If I could give them no stars, I would. I was driving through Twin Falls when I felt a pain in my chest, and right after my arms and legs lost normal mobility. I was having a hard time speaking and understanding people. I told my BF, who was driving that something was seriously wrong with me. He said my face didn't look right. It scared him to death. He took me to an Urgent Care, where I lost consciousness in the lobby. I woke up to nurses asking me questions and complete chaos in the lobby. Because this was an emergency, they had to call an ambulance and take me to St Lukes. When I got to St Lukes, I thought I would be cared for and my symptoms were going to be taken seriously. Turns out when I got there I would be treated in a condescending manner, laughed at, and ridiculed. The doctor and nurse made jokes about my condition "she thinks she is dying!!" while openly laughing at me and blaming my condition on drugs. They barely did any testing. Put something in my IV, and waited for me to come to. Eventually I was able to get my wits about me and explain what I had experienced. They told me nothing was wrong with me and discharged me. I felt like a fool. I cried because I TRULY did think I was dying, and to be laughed at and made to feel like they made me feel was absolutely deplorable. Fast forward 4 days later, I had another episode while on lunch during my normal work day. My left leg gave out and I was not able to walk straight. I call my BF and told him it was happening again. This time I was in Idaho Falls and went to Mountain View. They didn't make me feel like a fool. They didn't laugh at me. They literally did all the testing that SHOULD have been done at St Lukes. During the ultrasound, they found I had a Patent foramen ovale. I hole in the upper chamber of my heart. It was causing small clots to form and make their way to my brain and I was having transient ischemic strokes. NO ONE deserves to be treated the way they treated me. The doctor and the nurse should not be treating patients if they cannot have empathy. They had NONE!! If I had not gone to Mountain View and let the Dr and the nurse at St Lukes convince me that nothing was wrong with me, I could easily have had a serious stroke and have like altering circumstances had I not sought a second opinion. I did file a true complaint with the hospital about the dr and the nurse. I hope they take it seriously. read more

The OB/Gyn office is fantastic. Very attentive doctors and nurses. Labor and Delivery staff are amazing as well. very impressed with their thoroughness. NICU staff are phenomenal. I had to take my 12 year old daughter in to the ER for stomach issues. They got her in fairly quickly, however the RN that was helping her had a horrible bedside manner. My daughter was asking questions and she wouldn't even answer her, then she put the blood pressure cuff on so tight that her arm started turning red from the circulation being cut off. On top of that, the doctor asked us to take in a stool sample for analysis and the incompetent idiots lost her sample, and they just shrugged it off and said they never received it. My daughter could have something she needs antibiotics for and they could care less. read more

I have an Acute virus that they can not diagnosed. They are doctors and nurses that have done ever test possible and just gives me the same answers. "We don't know what it is" then sends me home and I'm back into ER two days later with worse symptoms, same test, and same answers.. then sends me home again and a day later I'm in now getting a spinal tap, now with all the same answers and sends me home. It has been two weeks going on three with know answers still... This hospital scares the hell out of me. If all they wanna do is same shit over and over again and never give you a diagnosis. I was taken by ambulance to St Lukes emergency room. The initial care was good if not for a couple of very rude, disappointing nurses. When you're in an emergent situation there is no reason to be treated rough and with disrespect. Thankfully I had a wonderful Dr. But that nursing staff need some lessons on respect and compassion for their patients. Not all, but enough to not want to ever go back. We don't want to be there in the first place, why make it so unpleasant!! I am glad to hear there is a new ER in Twin Falls, finally! My daughter was hospitalized in January due to swallowing issues.A young adult comes in and all you can tell her is she has allergies.Are you kidding me.A cat scan was to be done and she was to get steroids but neither one was done She literally was their for 6 days and then released.She was told "Well come back if you are not able to swallow.In February she ends up in the ER again for same condition.ER Dr was compassionate but admitting Dr Parkinson was so very rude the worst I have ever seen.I will never go to St Luke's for care for myself or my daughter.She has a wonderful group of Dr's now that are getting to the root of her condition because they care. read more

Went to the ER with kidney stones, was admitted, then had a stint placed next morning. Then St Lukes codes the visit as, non-emergent, which made the VA not pay the bill. Besides the fact that they admitted me for the 9mm stone they found they had a procedure done to prevent me from having my tube blocked by the stone, and yet they deem it "NON-EMERGENT." NOT counting all the pain I was in and the tons of pain meds they gave me while I was in the ER. DO NOT GO TO St Luke's. They really DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!! read more

I had to get some chest x-rays done that my doctor ordered and I went in at about 2 o'clock and was finished by 210! Dennis was my x-ray technician and had me in and out of there quicker than a fast service restaurant! I was in a wheelchair and he even wheeled me to the other side of the hospital so I can get to my car. He's an x-ray technician! He absolutely did not have to do that! Kim Hartrick PA had seen my daughter for a UTI. The intial finding was that there was an infection present, and she refused to treat it until the sample could be cultured because "She wanted to see what would grow" but the first sample was disposed of before cultured, so we had to take her back in to repeat the sample. Still no antibiotics were given at this point, 2 days AFTER the intial appointent where she was diagnosed, per MyChart, and the day after the second sample was given did we get a prescription for her to be treated. UTIs do NOT take 3 days from diagnosis to get antibiotics!!! These can move to kidneys and cause bigger issues by not treating them!! There is a reason we pulled our kids from having a peds dr to a family doctor and this is only adding to them. We won't be going back to this dr for anything and will continue to avoid peds. read more

It took an hour to be seen. Check in was cold. I felt as if I was imposing on them, being labeled as a walk in when reference was made to me at all. Time with doctor was no more than 20 minutes tops. Xray machine was not working properly so it was additionsl wait time while technician attempted to fix this issue. He finally said," We can work around it". After over a two hour ordeal with only a referral to be back in ten days a drug test was enforced on me. This will go down in memory as a new low for ways I have been treated by any medical facility. read more

MY Brother in Law has been in rhe St Lukes Magic Valley for 2 weeks not able to talk or walk and all is needed is a Cat scan. They say he cant get one till February 16th . I have went into the emergency room 3 times in a bit over a week. Within a year and a half I went from having hashimotos, to pots, high blood pressure etc. All things I have never experienced in my life. Recently I have become so off balance that it's hard to make it from the gas pump to the door and with it I am now numb on and off in my face hands and feet. Some of the Dr are decent but for the most part they don't truly listen , some pretty nice nurses . I have went in multiple times only for them to make me feel dumb like I don't know my body and haven't been me for 36 years, I am now setting home with dizzyness and numbness/ tingling that hasn't subsided for 5 days now and have been dismissed everytime I go in as anxiety. read more

Sitting in check-in with a 105F fever for my kid and we can't get even a damp cloth for her fever until I'm using my mask to dab water from the fountain on her brow as she's shaking and sweating. Finally get in and it is over 4 hours of testing, waiting and getting badgered towards more expensive testing. When we declined, out the door we go with no meds, prescriptions or advice of any sort, other than to come back if it gets worse. Take mom's old home remedies. She's now doing better. read more

My Dad was left in the surgery waiting room for 4 hours after they told him they would let him know when my room would be ready. He was the only one left and everything was locked up. He was waiting to hear what room number I was in. He finally went to the front entrance and asked where I was and they told him what room I was in! He sat in the waiting room 8 hours!!! read more

st. Luke's is moving their MRI services from cancer center to medical Plaza 2. I have been going around and around for over two weeks to try to get an appointment set up for an MRI for my wife. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The system is totally screwed up. she had gotten these scans before but now they had to have an RN's OK from our provider so we sent that to connect scheduling and they sent it back to the cancer center. so the cancer center gave us the fax number for connect scheduling and then they said you can't fax over a copy. You have to fill it out online. Nothing is went smooth. What a mess. read more

I was admitted overnight on March 17 2022, and my care team was the best. My only complaint is the Billing side of St Luke. Not even 3 weeks of being released I am getting calls from the financial dept because I have no insurance. I feel like I'm being harassed and all they care really is money for the services rendered. I already know and realize my obligations to pay my bill. Crap I haven't received a bill for me to look at. Now financial advocate is calling and being reminded almost daily. Come on folks. Imagine if there was only one chain of Hotels,one choice for a restaurant, one supplier of groceries etc. If you have found yourself in need of Emergent or inpatient care in Magic Valley, the town has one choice. I'm sure they are doing their best... however a monopoly doesn't need to strive to do better then their competitors. You get my point. Maybe the ER staff dressed in burgundy with Mutton chops and forearm tats means they're out on parole, or a work release pass. I honestly thought this character meandered in to see if he could maybe take the car to valet parking, still no idea who he was or his role...other then validating our anxieties. I frequent this place usually 3-4x a week. I have a heart condition which is requiring surgery within the month. I am constantly in the er here and have also been admitted a few times. Now let me explain why I rated st Luke's at 2 stars. First the negatives -quite a few arrogant doctors (god complex) -staff seems to be more focused on chatting in the hallways then paying attention to their patients. -some (not all) doctors don't listen to your concerns and needs. - alot of the nurses tend to have trouble with something as simple as an IV. -FREEZING all the time - front desk attendant is rude and seems uninterested Now for the positives -low wait times -a few of the doctors are amazing. To name a few - Dr. Ellsworth and DR Roberts are my absolute favorites. They are attentive, they genuinely listen to your concerns and and they do everything in their power to not only make you comfortable but to also alleviate whatever is medically wrong with you. -the cafeteria food is surprisingly good (especially for a hospital) -starbucks located inside -ample and convenient parking All in all this hospital is not the the best. Most of the doctors could stand to work on their attitude and so could a few nurses. (Again this doesn't include all of them....theres just some bad apples). Solid 2 stars read more

If you are in need of serious medical attention Saint Luke's of Magic Valley wouldn't even be in my top 100 medical centers. They will give you the epitome of watered down 'care'. The staff is incompetent. The lady at the front desk couldn't figure out you need to scan the order so it can be put in the system. I waited a good while to been seen. My results are supposed to take an hour it's been over three and I haven't received anything and we called them twice. read more

I had my DOT physical here for three years they have my HSA account the correct numbers. And my health savings account never works there. They tell me it's not their fault it's always the fault of the card. My card works everywhere else Family Health Services my chiropractor but not at the occupational services. The card company tells me they never tried to run the card. They don't take cash. So I sat there for almost an hour and a half. Waiting to see the doctor a half an hour after my appointment. People coming in after me they said they had an appointment so did I. Also the PA that did my physical once proof of My A-1 C so he's holding my card. My primary physician told me that the person doing the DOT physical does not need that documentation. I tell him what it was and that's it he is not my primary physician. read more

It sucks that we don't have another provider for major health care in Twin Falls Idaho. Is saint lukes has definitely dropped the ball. While the nurses and doctors Flirt with each other and have casual conversations there are people that are violently throwing up in their lobby in the emergency room. I can't stress enough how evil of a corporation that saint Luke's is. It feels like for a corporation this big it's OK to treat your clients like trash because you're too big to fail and you'll always get bailed out but one big thing about saint Luke's that I've learned is that they genuinely don't care about the patients they care for. It's all a big money operation. While going to the Emergency room Today there was less than 3 groups of people. We went to the emergency room because our 7 month year old was having very shallow and raspy breathing and we were very worried. But what worried us even more was the ER nurses and doctors just chatting and having casual conversations and having fun. We were waiting for 7 hours until we finally got admitted and the first thing they wanted to do was an x-ray. It just sucks because it feels Like the staff that works there is there only for their paycheck and they don't take any of the situations seriously or even give the empathy of an actual patient in pain. We waited 7 hours while there were 3 to seven groups there altogether throughout those 7 hours. I get that there is a shortage on medical staff and doctors need lunch breaks that last hours on end but there's actual emergencies that need to be attend it doesn't feel like this hospital takes anything seriously. It just sucks that we don't have another option for healthcare in this town. If we had another option we definitely wouldn't go to saint Luke's and that's what makes them a monopoly. They have control over the entire healthcare market of twin pause and that's what sucks. People that have emergencies have only one option and the option won't take him seriously. Lunch breaks are prioritized over patient care and leisure is put before human pain. This corporation is inherently evil and every complain that I see just keeps amounting against them. I know this review won't do anything and they will continue to not care and to just do whatever they want because hey it's profitable for business. But I say this in hopes they'll open the eyes of some people who also see this. We've come to an age we're going to quick care is almost way more effective than going to an actual hospital because the hospital doesn't care. I hope that laws change in that corporations that are this big can actually be held accountable for their actions because let me tell you something saint Luke's doesn't give anything about your well-being, They only care about the $8000 that they'll charge you in the end. read more

My skin was burning on my arms I was working in an industrial area that had mold in the building and I think I was being exposed to other chemicals blowing out of fans next to my building my doctor was Garrett a Bentley I went to my appointment went through the screening I asked him about the burning in my arms if he could do something for me she told me no today we were only going to deal with what about saving a blood test sent me out of his office with my arm still burning when I got the results of my blood test from a phone call they told me nothing was wrong with me St Luke's did nothing to help me didn't even give me some cream for my arms at least a prescription to the tune of $539 they sent me out the door and pain I would not recommend this hospital to anybody read more

This hospital sucks really bad. It smells like your dead already when you go in there. They treat the people like shit. They make them sit in the waiting room for hours. They don't care for you if you are poor. The doctors don't do shit when you are there. The nurses do most of it. read more

The facility itself is 5 stars for appearance. It's what happens after you get inside that is the problem. 1. They do not work with all of the Doctors in the community. It's either their way or the highway from what I hear. Seems to have been proven when my mother in law had a blood clot in her leg. There wasn't anyone on staff that could help so they ended up flying her to Boise. 2. They send a lot of people to Boise for tests that a hospital should be able to do. Example they would not do an MRA of the neck. Which Pinnacle imaging did in town. 3. Communications are terrible. When the hospital could not perform above said test there was no call to the patient. This proceedure was scheduled to be done on December 23rd. The proceedure was ordered by a DR for the UofU. Had to drive to SLC before the EOY to get the test done before deductible reset. 4. They fly people to Boise when they should be flying them to SLC. They do not even present that as an option to patients. at $25,000 per trip. 5. They are not up to date on patients payment options. Especially when it comes to medicaid and medicare. Also the patient indigent fund. Overall the Magic Valley has a problem with only one hospital provider and zero competitiion. They built a pretty facility but they are corporate medicine at it's worst. Putting dollars above care. Trying to keep people in network when they should be looking for the best treatment options. If they suggest flying you to Boise ask to be transferred to the University of Utah or Primary Children's. U of U is a level 5 truama center and Primary is the best when it comes to children. Overall I would reccomend trying to find alternative treatment solutions for yourself or your family. In my humble opinion. read more

My primary care provider, Dr. Helms, has been a marvelous provider to me for a number of years, both while I was working overseas for the USAF (I'd have visits with him while I was home on leave), and since my return from Japan. He would have made an excellent Air Force provider. He has been patient and genuine in listening to my issues; he has made good suggestions for self-care and has responded to my inquiries and concerns via St. Luke's MyChart. I've been very fortunate to have him as my primary-care provider. read more

Infuriating! Dr Cox is an imbecile. 5th hospitalization in 6 months for the same thing--sepsis. Always claims its a UTI ecoli but the final lab results are strep. Spouse can never catch him because he rounds at different times. They claim hospital is overrun by covid patients so they're using day surgery center for "overflow". No privacy, full glass window ceiling to floor with only a curtain for privacy and no outside windows, you can hear everyone else's business, the CNA took my blood pressure from the same arm that was infusing antibiotics at the time which was extremely painful then proceeded to try to make me feel stupid when I called her on it. My husband investigated the other hospital floors and all the doors to the rooms were open with a few nurses milling around. That doesn't seem like an influx of covid patients to me. Don't bother with your cell phone no signal in or out so you have to use their phones. Slept maybe 4 hours over the 3 days there and had to get earplugs to get that! A lady down the hall kept screaming all night, " help! Somebody help me"! Really felt like I was in an insane assylum! I don't know what to do now if I have another sepsis episode because I now have ZERO trust in this monopoly hospital. read more

The competency associated with St Luke's is below average for the medical field, Their main concern is generating more business for themselves and others associated with St. Luke's. They try to bully and belittle the patient to do what will benefit St. Luke's with no regard to what is best for the patient. Their finance program might work if the employees where knowledgeable on it. I called several times looking for answers and help, talking with several employees in the department, never getting the same answer. My family will no longer not to do business with any provider associated with St. Luke's, being referred out of the area is the only option in the Magic Valley. read more

My mom was brought in by ambulance yesterday after a bicycle accident to the Magic Valley St Luke's. The care she was given is FAR from acceptable. The basic care should have been to clean her wounds, which would help prevent infection. They did not. They simply put a bandaid over mud and gravel, but only so it wouldn't get blood on the wrist brace they put on her. She has road rash all over her body and they only cleaned ONE of the areas and only because she had asked! They discharged her and sent her on her way without even taking the IV out. She walked out of the hospital with the IV in place and tubing taped to her arm. In what world is this ok? Her message updating us said "They left the IV in. Wanted me out of here I guess." Regardless of the paramedics being the ones who placed the IV this should have been checked and removed prior to discharge. My mom had a head injury. This should not be on the patient to check. St Luke's did 3 staples on the back of her head and she had a large contusion on the front of her face. Standard practice of care was not given to her. The ER is often rushed, I get that. But major things were overlooked and missed, and that is not ok. She walked herself back into the ER and told the triage staff that they did not remove the IV. No xrays were taken to get for orbital fractures. No wound care. No fucks given to my mom. I cleaned her wounds once she was home. I drove 2 hours to be here to look after my mom. I was the one who picked the gravel and dirt from her wounds and actually bandaged her up. I absolutely do not recommend St Luke's. Thankful my mom is alive and things could have been much, much worse. But St Luke's failed her when she needed help. 0 stars. read more

Whilst I cannot praise the excellent care from doctors & staff at St Luke's Magic Valley, highly enough, the charges are ridiculously high. If not for Medicare I couldn't afford to take advantage of this otherwise excellent hospital. I cannot give less than five stars as both my husband and I had procedures last year and received the best care possible. I do not understand why there have been such negative feedback from others. For several years we have attended St Luke's both here and Boise and have never had a bad experience. Without any doubt I fully recommend the hospital. Thanks to all who work there. read more

I had had a death close to me so when the person checking me in for labs didn't do it right and I waited for an hour before the mistake was realized I posted a review in anger and grief. However, my grandmother has been on the surgical floor with a broken hip and pelvis and the staff has been amazing!
