According the the SP Free Walking Tours, Sana Tereza is the oldest bakery in São Paulo. Of course,…read morethis was our lunch stop during the downtown tour. Usually, food stops during tours are "touristy" (for a lack of a better word) BUT Santa Terza proves that wrong.
If there is one thing you have to order, it's their coxinhas. Usually, bakeries take shredded chicken and mold it into the shape of a drumstick, cover it in dough and either back or fry it. At Santa Tereza, they use an actual chicken drumstick! My friends and I still regret not buying a bag to go, as it was impossible finding another bakery in town and Rio that makes their coxinhas like Santa Tereza.
Of course they do sell the shredded chicken coxinha at Santa Tereza. They sell many types of baked goods but I highly recommend sampling their pao de queijo.
