Home of the arch bishop and many priests and members of the Catholic Church organization. This beautiful classic style cathedral is massive and has an impressive campus. Walking in they have seat back chairs rang attach and make a semi circle around the stage and massive columns. The roof painted like the night sky of Bethlehem in the tale of Jesus birth is a nice elegant touch. I have visited this cathedral for a mass a handful a times from my nephews awards ceremonies and confirmations and recently to my own daughters confirmation. Overall a very lovely place to take in a mass and hold a special sacramental event such as confirmations or weddings. Being downtown you will have to street park or pay to garage park. I usually Park the adjoining 4th street live parking garage and it provides a close and easy place to park and get in and out.

Although having undergone several disasters and near disasters over the course of its history, Saint Martin's is alive and well today, comprising families from both sides of the Ohio River. Due to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel, the church is open 24/7 and there is always a security guard on duty. Saint Martin's is known for its commitment to beautiful music and liturgy, and features a semiprofessional choir at the 10:30 AM English Mass and 12:15 PM Latin Mass. The historic pipe organ, the 1894 Farrand & Votey (Detroit, MI) is also visually and acoustically magnificent.

And in more than one way, I might add…read more I happened across this ministry sometime after hearing the Iron Bell "band" lead worship for a retreat for my church back here in CO (Flatirons Christian Church), the fall of 2017. So when I took my family to KY the following summer for a visit, I made it a point to try to check them out for their Wednesday Morning Prayer. Apparently every Wednesday morning they hold prayer and worship, between 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. Luckily we arrived the night before to Louisville, so I was able to make this time slot. Needless to say, it is a great space and the property has plenty of area to walk around and reflect, while indoors you can be immersed in the live worship, which you can focus on that and/or spend personal devotional time in the Word. Either outdoors or in the small foyer is more conducive for conversating, though generally speaking the talking is kept minimal and low in dB's. I also thankfully read the note on their website to leave anyone under 12 y/o at home. Since I was visiting, my wife agreed to stay at the hotel back in Louisville with out three little ones (who at the time we all under 9 y/o). Though it was a brief visit to the "ranch", it was a very peaceful experience. I would probably have a "deeper" experience today than when I visited, just knowing where I as in my faith journey at that time and where I am today. I would happily make my way back here again and am excited to share this place to others. And if you plan ahead, there's an ability to schedule prayer appointment with someone from the ministry. From what I understand the space is limited, so plan ahead. In fact, their website says: "...due to demand we can only accommodate prayer appointments for each person once per year." Also, it would be cool to try to attend one of their events. We'll see if we can arrange it next time we're out in KY. Regarding how to get there. the prayer space is actually a little bit down a private drive on the south-side of Aiken Road, and it is my understanding that the entrance can be easily missed. Don't use Forest Pointe Lane to get here (as might be the temptation when looking at Google maps), as the entrance is further East-Southeast of Forest Pointe Lane, as you are driving eastbound on Aiken Road (which is likely where most visitors are coming from, if coming from Louisville). That's all I got for now. I am sure more will be able to add to the experience, I am just looking forward to being able to visit again, if that is in the 'books'. Blessings!

The members here are legit Christians. You walk in here and you are attacked by people greeting you and welcoming you. My first time here I was greeted by at least 2 dozen people. Crazy because the congregation here is small, around 90. I was Baptize here and I'm glad I was. A lot of churches these days are anything but a place of God and teachings of Jesus. This church is actually a church. At times I wish I never left. I met a lot of wonderful people here. If you are looking for a place to worship, you won't find many churches better in Louisville than this one.
