They pay competitive wages and have several benefit packages. The owners even chose to be corporate partners with the TEXAS T.E.A.C.H Scholarship program, which allows all staff to take early education college courses including at the university level at zero cost to the staff. Plus the owners give financial incentives for completing courses. The O'Connor's care about the education and careers of their staff, often promoting leadership from within and providing an opportunity for personal and professional growth for every teacher. I highly recommend this work place.

The teachers work really hard and are not compensated considering how high the tuition is. There were frequently issues that parents weren't informed of that as a parent I would want to know but it was an administrative decision. From a parent perspective it is great. But because I worked there to afford the tuition; I could not ignore how the staff was being treated many women were too scared to say anything for fear of being written up. I truly hope things have improved ,but I ethically cannot support a business that doesnt pay their excepcional teachers a living wage.

Fifteen minutes later, I still heard them crying and went to look for the child to see if anyone was helping them. I saw one toddler left outside in the cold, crying by where the door to this facility was. I ran around to the front and knocked on the door and a male came out and saw the child. He quickly ran inside to let her in through the door she was standing near. He claimed that the other children were playing on the other side of the building, which was a blatant lie because I had already run around the entire building to get to the front door, and this two year old was very obviously left unattended and very upset. No adult or other child was anywhere outside. This was obviously a situation where she was either forgotten or purposefully left outside. I called SAPD to document this, and they were sending an officer to check on the child. I'll post this review on every forum I can to warn parents about this. Imagine if someone with bad intentions had discovered her first, instead of a mother.

He will be nice to you when you are first enrolling your child because he wants the business. After that....forget it!! When there are things they need none of the staff knows how to talk. You feel more like a reprimanded child instead of the parent. I feel talked down to often. Each day when I walk in to drop off my child, I walk in anxious to deal with these people. I really feel like looking into a new day care. I have one of my in-laws who takes their child there too. Playhouse did not know that we know eachother. On more than one occasion, I heard them badmouthing the parent and the child. Horrible! This place makes me a bit uneasy. I would not recommend this place for anyone with kids under 5. At least after age 5... that way they can talk and let you know what really goes on there. I encourage other parents or anyone who knows about this place to post a review. Parents should be informed. Mr. Lopez is off, no compassion, very rude. Aida is the only decent employee there.

Multiple parents and myself witnessed teachers being aggressive with the smaller children and we did bring up concerns to "leadership". They are focused on opening up a charter elementary school more than correcting the issues in the daycare/preschool. We offered a lot of grace to this school as we wanted it to work out and liked the idea of Christian foundation for our child. They also do not have cameras in the classrooms to validate/review any issues- so you really need to trust your gut and advocate for your child. The only light of hope at this school is Ms. Sharon; she is wonderful and is the main reason we did not speak up sooner.

They make you feel right at home from the second you walk through the door. Their communication with parents is superb. They'll call me to let me know of incidents that may happen and what they've done to take care of your child. Every day we go home with a report card that has your child's behavior, eating habits, how long they slept during nap, etc. Throughout the summer they have splash day every Wednesday where the children play outside in the water. Every week they have a different theme they focus on and fun activities to celebrate. During the holidays they put on a fantastic Christmas program that every classroom participates in. We absolutely love Trinity!!!

I will say, I have had to bring certain things to admin's attention like needing more frequent diaper changes to prevent diaper rash and although I wasn't pleased I had to say this I was extremely happy to see that my complaint and solutions were accepted with smiles and the situation was resolved quickly and I haven't had issues since. I can say Admin and teachers truly want your baby to be happy here and are willing to not only listen to your concerns and feedback but take action to correct things on their end. Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I could take back all the time, patience and effort I put in to try and make it a good experience for her. This place not only has high turnover, high student to teacher ratio, it seems like it also sells you this false belief of superior education from the Montessori brand. So maybe you think that justifies a large monthly fee (nevermind their holidays and staff days), and well it's the best of the best it must be worth it. Wrong. Surely the staff must go through more than your typical cpr/first aid 24 hour training? No. Nothing special here. It's all branding. I tried being patient and understanding, but ultimately my reasons for pulling my child was her safety and well being. They don't have their furniture anchored on walls and so they have bookshelves in the middle of class. Well, you probably assumed some kid got hurt. Yep. Another kiddo pushed the bookcase on to my child, falling over on her fingers. Even after that they didn't want to prevent that from happening again because they technically didn't have to, is what they said, but it wasn't enough seeing a kid actually get hurt to make them think otherwise. I had to really complain to make them do something. Another incident was a child attacking my child outside and not responding to teachers telling them to stop. Did my kid's teacher see this incident? No. Another teacher did. They had the parents pick that kid up. Another time, I go to pick up my kid and once I buckle her in the car I notice she had a busted lip, and they didn't have me sign the usual incident report. Teacher didn't see it or even notice it. (You'll see this as a pattern.). The culmination was the same kid attacking my kid again, this time on her face, and did her teacher see it? No. Another teacher did. Let me mention that this incident would not have happened had they followed their own policy, (which is not having more than one classroom outside at a time) and had competent staff (there were 4 kids to 2 teachers in her class that day and it took a teacher from a different class to see it and stop it.) They had the parents come and cut the other kids nails but didn't separate them from my kid. All this goes without mentioning my kid constantly being sick and them doing a poor job cleaning and changing her diaper. I had spoken to the director and staff about my daughter's health condition, which requires frequent diaper changes or she is at risk of an infection that can affect her kidneys. One time I pick her up and she has a diaper full of poop. I complain. Within the same week, after picking her up, I get home to change her and notice particles of poop because they didn't clean her well. I send an email to all involved about it, but then my daughter had to be hospitalized because, you guessed it, she got an infection. Maybe you can take this knowledge and go to a daycare that's more affordable and will probably give you the same experience. At least your wallet will thank you. All I can say is now my daughter is thriving at home because she isn't getting hurt or sick. She is developing better because I actually interact with her, unlike a time when I saw on camera her teacher completely ignore her when an activity was set up, and no effort was made to bring my daughter over to learn. Do yourself, your sanity, and your wallet a favor and don't go here. Don't buy into all the influencer romanticizing Montessori aesthetics. All they do is say their script,"oh we apologize...we understand...", but there is no change. There is no striving to be better, to stay on the ball. Their words are empty of proactive action, or any action at all. The previous posts and pictures are dated, and those people aren't there anymore. So anything that was said before being nice is no longer applicable.

I wanted to take a moment to share an updated perspective on Great Hearts Live Oak. Over time, I've…read morecome to appreciate just how dedicated the staff is. They continue to be supportive, professional, and always willing to communicate with parents. Whether it's through phone calls, emails, or text messages, they make an effort to keep families informed, which is something I really value. The curriculum remains challenging and encourages students to think critically. While there are still some concerns about the lack of specific cultural observances, I do see that the school focuses on deeper discussions about historical events rather than just surface-level recognition. I can respect that approach, even if it's different from what some might expect. One issue that still comes up a lot is the car line. The construction in the area has settled down a bit, but now there's a new challenge--sharing the road with other businesses. It definitely adds another layer of congestion, but I think it's important to acknowledge that a lot of the frustration comes from how we, as parents, handle the process. There are still too many instances of people not paying attention, blocking driveways, or leaving huge gaps in the line, which just makes things worse. If everyone followed the guidelines, it would probably run a lot smoother. The school is still a charter, which means funding is always a challenge. It runs largely on donations and tuition, but not every family contributes equally, which puts extra strain on resources. At the same time, the staff is stretched thin, and I know that makes classroom management tough. It's understandable that some behavior issues might be handled more strictly just because teachers have so much on their plates. One thing I've been thinking about lately is how easy it is for us as parents to rate and critique a school, but I wonder how the school would rate us. A child's education isn't a one-way street where only the school has to be accountable--parents play just as big of a role in making sure their child succeeds. Whether it's supporting teachers, reinforcing expectations at home, or just being mindful of how we contribute to the school community, it's something to consider. Overall, my experience with Great Hearts Live Oak has been positive, even with the challenges. No school is perfect, but I do see the effort they put in, and that matters. I just hope that as a community, we can all recognize that education is a shared responsibility, not just something for the school to carry on its own.

Despite having an IEP in place, the school consistently failed to follow it or provide the accommodations he needed to succeed. The lack of communication and accountability from certain teachers was alarming. Instead of feeling encouraged, my son became increasingly discouraged and dreaded going to school -- something no child should ever feel. There was little to no positive feedback or emotional support offered, and the overall attitude toward his well-being seemed indifferent at best. As a parent, it was heartbreaking to watch his confidence decline in an environment that is supposed to nurture learning and growth. Thankfully, we were able to move him to a school that values kindness, inclusion, and support -- and the difference has been night and day. I sincerely hope Great Hearts leadership takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful changes to ensure no other child has to go through a similar experience.
