But the right amount in progress & I mentioned this to them via email, phone and texting with the directors and sent them my transcripts. They were aware but still brought me in for the interview and I thought awesome as a lot of schools allow for in progress units. Only to find out when I got there they brought me in for a potential position in the future because they liked my resume and phone interview. I had to sit through an hour interview knowing I wasn't getting the current job. I was NOT told this when asked to come in for an interview. The whole thing was weird energy between the assistant director and director and a waste of a 40 min drive and me taking a day off. The assistant director was incredibly warm and the main director was cold. I can't speak on the education etc.. of this school. But I did not appreciate my time being wasted for a "potential" position months away. As I was looking for and applied for current employment and should have been informed otherwise.

This would be a five star rating if not for the horrible problem of bullying at this school. OLQA…read morehas a strong academic program but the allowed bullying is truly horrific. Especially in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, the massive bullying has caused many smart kids to simply leave. The school's policy on bullying is that the school staff has to actually witness the bully attacking the student before anything can begin to be addressed. And of course the kids aren't stupid - they never bully in front of the staff. There are no anti-bullying programs and the bullies run the school. It particularly sad as it is antithetical to everything a Catholic school should be.

Always greeting children with a smile on their faces and making sure our little ones have the best experience in social, emotional and educational development. They are focused on playology, and Jacqueline has mastered play-based learning. On top of that she is so smart, kind and sincerely loves her students and teaching them. The activities are so fun, like smashing hallow eggs with letter to learn the alphabet or matching rocks to outlined shapes. She goes all out on occasions, once she even brought in snow for the kids! It's a small school than what we were used to and I love it for that. 6th grade is made up of two classes with about 21 kids in each class - I mean, unless you go to private school, what other public school would have classes of this size? The attention children get here is incredible. During 3rd grade back in LAUSD, my daughter was one of 46 kids in her "class" that oddly had two teachers at the helm but it was one class. Not confusing at all, and just imagine when those same 46 kids went online at the start of COVID. Nvm the children, I was getting cross eyed too with 48 little heads on the Zoom. Anyway, Eastbluff is the jam. Intimately sized, and we loved her teachers Mrs. McRae (5th) and will be sad to leave Mr. Lagerlof's class (6th) when she starts middle school in August. Mrs. Beck, the principal, is retiring and though we didn't have her for very long, she was lovely and attentive. Thank you Eastbluff Elementary for two years of great memories, not just for my daughter but for me too.
