Parishioners here are friendly and the pastor is very welcoming. The church is very well maintained and beautiful.

Whenever I stayed a weekend at my sister's, this is where I attend Sunday Mass @ 6:15 am. First Mass celebrated in the Parish Hall was on the Christmas of 1959. This parish church has a very active Hispanic and Filipino Communities. A Catholic School was established in 1960 which is under the administration of the Sisters of the Love of God. read more

This is an older church located in an up and coming area of La Puente. The setup of the church is awkward. The altar is located in the center of the church with pews surrounding it on both sides. I do like the icons located throughout the church. The stained glass is a favorite feature of mine as well. I'm sorry about the 3-star review but I'm a lover of basilicas and gothic designs. The priest is great and services are awesome, but the girls at the office are awful. They're cranky and definitely give the impression they don't like their jobs. Since they're representing the church, they should have better attitudes. read more

I called on Thursday 12/06/12 to ask about my first communion certificate. The lady who pick up was so rude I could not believe I was calling a Catholic Church. She did not even want to answer any of my questions. Apparently, if you call the wrong department don't expect common courtesy. For the past few years I have really grown to like this church more with every visit. They have remodeled the place giving it a beautiful touch. Never have i been inside and been alone, the blessed sacrament(eucharist) is there for the most time to ador where most worshipers like myself end my visit. Along the walls are statues of saints and religious replicas from different parts of the globe. I recently been coming to mass, I like how the choir project the lyrics of the songs to sing along. It can get hard to find parking for mass especially in the mornings. I've had the honor to dance on the 12 of December for Our Lady of Guadalupe at this church which has made me connect more when it comes to a place to pray. What I like about it is there is a mixture of cultures that unite in this parish all to attend mass, rosaries, confessions. Me and my family attended the mass every Sunday at St. Martha. Most of the time the officiating priest is father Thomas. I love listening to him. He speaks clearly and lively. Every morning there is one usher who always greeted us at​ the door near the Choir door area. The other usher or minister whom I asked about the​ ​communal wedding told me to go to rectors office. I go to the Rector's office for the requirements and the receptionist is very helpful in answering my question. read more

Was referred to this Padre Franciso Juan from Saint Martha's. It was my moms funeral. This so called Padre shows up late. Has no clue what the Deceased persons name. He was completely unprepared. He was instructed to perform the simple mass in English an Spanish. He screw that up. Then he calls the deceased a different middle name different last name. To top it off His explanation of death made no sense talking about spousal abuse alcoholism. How we forgive and Rejoice. This idiot was on a whole other mind set. Then to top it off. He has no holy water. Then he asks one of the family friends. If they have any water bottle . We were thinking he's was thirsty. This idiot so-called father. Started splashing water from the water bottle all over the deceased face on the coffin,canopy and on the crucifix. I'm talking about every where. Flooding the whole place. Saying this is holy water. Every one was In shock and disbelief of what just happened. Then he gives water bottle back to the family friend. Knowing covid is a major concern. Then says it's holy water. You can keep it.. It was a total freaking mess then. Then comes up to me to tell me. that he can't even go with us to the gravesite to bless it. Where we're about to bury my mom. His excuse because he needs to drop off his girlfriend at work. a total disaster. He completely ruined the funeral. He talks out of his ass. Total imbecile at his finest. do not use this idiot for anything what so ever.Even Rose Hills Cordinator was completely shocked with this so called priest, completely unprofessional. The whole funeral,cemetery, family and friends were in total shock and disbelief. Keep in mind all the information was sent to him 3 days prior so he can be prepared. We even had a big large sum of donation to be given in cash. Well Obviously that didn't happen. Thank God the Rose Hills coordinator was able to step up and help us out, at the burial site , with all the family and friends there.. Even till now the Family and Friends are wondering where in the hell did this moron come from. Never has any body seen such a disrespectful, unprofessional, un organized priest... My wife and I got married on December 22, 2018 at this church. Don't get me wrong the church is very beautiful and set up really well for the season. The father and the deacon were very helpful and gave there helpful input on everything and walked us through the whole process. but the wedding coordinator Shirley was the worst! She is the most unprofessional, rude , impatient, arrogant lady we have ever met. It all started the Thursday before the wedding when we had our rehearsal with everyone. She gave my wife attitude about why we were having our mass in English and not in Spanish as she stated that we were Hispanic and it should be in Spanish. Why does she care. Our family speaks English! She asked about how we were getting there . We replied back saying on a limo. She replied back to us saying "oh good luck getting here they are always late call them right now and tell them to come a half an hour before your original pick up time." Then after when we all arrived to do our rehearsal we all started and she got very upset and started giving me and my wife attitude because my best man was not there due to there being traffic 5pm on Thursday rush hour what was she expecting. We rehearsed one time and she left after without telling us that she was leaving. We were left to rehearse again alone. Then came the wedding day. The wedding started at 3pm. Shirley texted my wife while she was getting ready at 2:30 hounding her that where is everyone. My wife ignored her because she had already so much on her plate. We all showed up on time. Before 3pm and Shirley was asking where my parents were I said I had to get them outside. She told me to call them and stay in the church. I was telling myself who is this lady to tell me what to do. I went outside to grab my parents. The wedding continued as scheduled and everyone arrived as scheduled. We had a good time and the deacon and father were very helpful! I hope the church will catch on about Shirley and do something about it. read more

I'm a Mexican American that's has going there since a kid my were baptized there first communion there and was gonna start going for his confirmation but I was saddened by what happened today at one of there elderly ushers judged me wrong just cause I'm a Hispanic bald and a beard assumed I was probably up to no good. When it was time to receive the communion there was a purse on a bench a he seen me there and asummed and judged unfair what is this world coming to were now even at church and even by there own usher we get judge stereotyping. I felt anger and saddened cause I will personally not go back and advice my whole family of issue as well and advice them not to atend that tell they learn to pick ushers and treat every person equally read more

I called up St. Martha's parish office to get a copy of my baptism certificate. Alejandra, the woman who answered the phone, was friendly, professional, and helpful. She was able to locate my certificate right away (not bad, since I was baptized decades ago). She quickly mailed me the hard copy, and even sent me a scanned copy so I could see it right away. St. Martha's catholic private school, Its a terrible school they don't know what their doing, also that school is always behind. They find ways to make more money like example, you gotta pay in order to see your kids grades. The teachers have NO respect for children. And some teachers don't have a Masters degree to be a teacher. Well, NO wonder they can't do math or spell...I really liked the principal however, she won't protect the kids when the teachers do wrong or they need to be fired! The 8th grade teacher throws pencils or erasers at them. A lot of parents did complain and nothing was done about it. This was happening since my child was going there in the year 2000's. I'm sure there are good private schools out there just not St. Martha's. Shame on them! Forgot to mention my child caught the teacher for correcting papers wrong. If they don't like your child they will make sure they get bad grades. My child wasn't a trouble maker. She is not nice at all...just make sure keep all their homework.
