If you are feeling stressed or depressed, go spend an hour or so in this inspirational place with it's lofted ceilings, its beautiful altar and its newly added and awesome spire. If you are lucky, you'll hear the organist practicing, or a choir. During Christmas and Easter there are various musical events which are always sold out, because the acoustics in the cathedral are so good. I have always supported the Cathedral with donations whenever I visit. It is a place of sanctuary for me, where I can sit and talk to my God.

The 40m high Church tower was completed in the 1460's and St Mary's is the largest church in Suffolk at almost 60m long and 20m wide. Within you will find the altar tomb of Henry Barton, Lord Mayor of London in 1416 and 1428. While his tomb is located here, he is actually buried in St Paul's Cathedral. There's much to explore both within the church and around the grounds. Definitely worthy of a stop while visiting Mildenhall.

In addition to the formal displays, there is also a great playground and riverside area which is a favourite of young families feeding the ducks. Of course there is also the old ruined Abbey which is fascinating to take a look around.
