While there is still a teacher here who can never fully see me just due to her nose being stuck…read morethat high up in the air, all the other staff I've dealt with at the elementary school have been wonderful, kind and caring. And while I take no joy in the reason (death) for the business/transportation office changing who's in charge, I weep with joy at the improvements in communication, efficiency, and consideration from that office. I only wonder why it couldn't have been done far sooner. When someone is no longer capable of doing their job, for whatever reason, either let them go, or at least get them some more help. To leave more responsibility on a person than they can handle is NOT kind. Please remember that in future.

We are the family whose children were ousted from CCS after attending since kindergarten. Our…read moreoldest was permitted to graduate last year, but this year our two boys (grades 11 and 8) were forced out -- separated from lifelong friends -- because the leadership needed to appease those angered by a parent movement that only began because leadership refused to listen. There were pride flags in classrooms and teachers responsible for showing borderline pornography in the high school just as a couple examples, which sparked outrage and families kept leaving so parents wanted to stop the exodus. My husband, a beloved CCS teacher for 19 years, was also unceremoniously transferred on the basis of a false allegation from a (now terminated) historically unpopular staff member. Other families, too, have had their memberships revoked and were blocked from the AGM last year. At CCS, parents and staff who speak up will be punished if they do not "kiss the ring". And many know whose ring that is. While some leadership and staff have changed over the 3 years since parents started organizing to pushback as well as vote, nothing meaningful has. These "crumbs" were given only to pacify parents while the progressivism that has infected the school for over a decade continues. Parents, be careful. If you raise a concern, you will be pressured to fall in line -- and your children may be the ones who pay the price. Parents may pay to keep the lights on, but CCS operates as a closed ruling class of whiny progressives, and those who enable them out of pure cowardice. Respect and trust should not be given blindly -- and neither should your tuition money. Save it as well as the confusion in your child's faith and enroll your children in a public school or hope to be very fortunate if your children can be accepted into a SOLID Christian school that actually has a long wait list like our youngest was (thank the Lord). We don't miss this school one bit (I feel relief in fact) but our boys sure miss their friends. That's the ONLY reason we wanted to stay and fight for its soul. If you want traditional BIBLICAL Christian values, transparency and genuine partnership as a paying member, you will not find it here at CCS.

I was relieved to see on the news that this school is being shut down or "relocated" for safety…read morereasons. Not only is the building completely falling apart, dirty and unsafe but it's sure as hell not worth the hundreds of dollars you need to upgrade a high school course here. I ended up having to drop two classes because the teachers here don't give a crap about you. I was taking math (which is not my strength) and ended up dropping it after one class as I asked for assistance and I basically got told to "figure it out" really? I come here because I struggled in high school and now I need to be told to figure it out! What are you even getting paid for? The next semester I decided to try again and I specifically said DO NOT put me with the same teacher, I didn't think it could get any worse than her but it did. I arrived to class on the first day and the guy (I'm not even going to call him a teacher) stood in front of everyone and said that if you were in math 14 or 24 (which I was) you were going to have a hell of a time passing this course. I confronted him about it after class and he abruptly ignored me and started in another conversation when another teacher walked in and said hello. I walked out and went to talk to student services who honestly couldn't be ANY more rude, they told me to switch teachers, so again, I did. The next day of class I headed up to the new room where there was an East Indian woman (and I am not racist at all) but she could barely speak a word of English, I don't understand math when someone who speaks English tries to teach it how am I going to understand if she doesn't even speak it. I ended up staying in the class for about two weeks before I decided me and Chinook Learning needed I go our separate ways. I ended up going to CBE Online school (the ladies in admin are still total cows but atleast if you have an online class you don't need to worry about petty interactions). I have many friends who have gone to chinook and they all have hated it and the same things to say. The teachers don't care, so why pay them any money.
