Don't send your kids here!…read more this is coming from someone who used to work for them, but the amount of stuff that got swept under the rug and were left a secret to parents was horrible. I worked there for under half a year, and had to make calls to CPS against the orders of my managers and directors, because they didn't want to lose customers. There are a lot of teachers that are incredible and good at their jobs, but there are some who are protected and given many opportunities to continue their abuse in children. Some would refuse to change diapers if a baby cried too much, or if they weren't feeling like it. or would withhold food to specific kids if they weren't feeling not listening. Also many of the teachers didn't respect dietary restrictions. the work environment is disgusting, most of the toys never got cleaned. staff and kids are always sick, as well as the kitchens are filled with mouse poop and mold. Let along the staff treatment, don't work here, you're lucky if you can get a day off. you quite literally have to be hospitalized before they consider it, let along give you a day.

I am concerned about the messaging to parents, following the 80% increased meal fees, that if…read moreparents were to go to the media regarding this, their child would be at risk of losing their spot in the daycare. The powers that be are completely within their rights to raise prices as they see fit, but to threaten parents in this manner is unconscionable. It is particularly disturbing as they are in the business of child care. I don't personally have a child in this daycare, but would not consider this particular organization due to this recent practice. It is unprofessional and certainly does not do anything to foster relationships between current and prospective families.

She witnessed my son standing alone crying. She then witnessed my son being dragged by his arm to a mat and having a blanket thrown over his whole body. My wife could not even see his hair. The worker admitted to the incident. Instead of firing the negligent worker Kids and Co decided to move the worker to a different location. We were offered one month free which we obviously declined because we don't feel like having our child in a negligent environment. I feel daycare workers should take care of your child like they were their own and I would never treat my child like that. My wife is a pediatric nurse and and she knows that if she treated her patients like that she could be fired or sued.

Ultimately, Kidsco did nothing about it, other than tell us they would try to separate the children within the same classroom. We watched on the camera, and on multiple occasions, witnessed our child in physical contact with the child that injured her. We don't blame the caregivers in the room, as Kidsco was not willing to dedicate any additional human resource to the effort. They state they are following policy, which I guess CYA is what we should have expected out of a large corporation. What we had hoped from our childcare providers we have entrusted the safety and well-being of our children with was basic human decency and compassion, but I suppose that is too much to ask for. Communication from them is also poor, border lining on rude and inconsiderate - they don't return phone calls, and when they do, leave messages on our phone at 11:45pm.

I am not sure why this centre is labeled as one of the best ones in Calgary. I had high…read moreexpectations (west 85) as the curriculum sounded very interesting but was ultimately very disappointed with the overall experience. My son was in a toddler class for 6 months and made little progress. Every time I walked into the classroom they were just playing "super simple songs" for the kids. I was never given or shown 1 craft made by my son. In 6 months he never really adjusted to the daycare as they are constantly rotating the kids of classroom and teachers, which also causes them to be sick often as it seems hard to contain a virus when all kids are constantly moving around from one classroom to another. They staff also always seemed to be sick and complained of being overworked. The website advertises a large play area but this isn't true. They have plans to build an outdoor space next year but this isn't available yet. The food did not seem very enticing and most days they were being served some sort of soup. In the time my son was there the administrative staff changed often and the last supervisor that was hired seem very sloppy and disorganized. On my sons last day half of the items he brought to school were missing and no one knew where they were. They said they would call me if they ever found them, but they never did.

Our daughter spent 2 years at Montessori Alberta with Ms. Celine, Ms. Sophia, and Ms. Angela. Our…read moredaughter learned so much at this school and it has really given her a lot of confidence in Grade 1. I am quite surprised to see some of the previous reviews but I'll comment with specifics to help any parents considering sending their children here. - Focus - My first experience with Montessori Alberta was in 2019 when we had a school tour. I was amazed to see 15 kids sitting on the mat all listening to Ms. Celine read to them. Ms. Celine has a way with children that really keeps them focused. -Adaptable - 2020-2022 was a hard time for schooling for all families but Ms. Celine was able to keep the school safe, keep the parents informed, and keep the kids learning every single day. When our daughter had to miss school for a few weeks, they made efforts to include her via Google Meet which was a wonderful way for my daughter to stay included. -Nurturing - Each of the teacher's here have such a wonderful way of knowing what a child needs. They really gave my daughter the push she needed but also gave her the space to grow. At each of our parent teacher interviews, we got specific and concrete feedback on how our daughter could improve and areas where she was already strong. -Community - The community of parents that bring their kids here is just wonderful and this speaks to the strength of the school and how it fosters that network. Even though our daughter is in grade 1 and all of her previous classmates are now in different schools, the parents still meet up and the kids still play together! In summary, I have nothing but great things to say about Montessori Alberta. My son is not quite old enough to go but the moment that he is, I am sending him there! Russ

Words cannot express my gratitude for this Montessori school. We have been with the school since…read more2013, however the owner/directress changed with the 2016/2017 school year. Every change (both big and small) that she has implemented has been for the better. Beginning with the 2017/2018 school year they had a full day kindergarten program. Additionally they offer complimentary speech assessments for all the students and should your child need extra help they will arrange for he/she to work with a speech language pathologist during school time. My daughter is very shy (very independent but very shy) and this Montessori has developed and fostered her confidence and has allowed her to be more social. They strive to have students be self-directed and to be accountable for their decisions and actions. My daughter (and my older son under the old owner) both loved literacy and mathematics when they "graduated" from this school. I have two avid readers in my household (they are only 5 and 8 years old) and this is largely a reflection of all the literacy/phonetic work done at Montessori at a young age. This Montessori has instilled the love of learning in my children which made the transition to elementary school so easy. Our love for this school, has resulted in us changing the location of some other child care for our third child so he too can attend this school for the next three years. I would whole heartedly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a program that will truly allow your young child to shine as an individual and to be exposed to a wonderful introduction to the world of learning.
