As a young man of faith, and as husband and Dad, his Christ-like example and maturity is extraordinary. Pastor Scott is well versed in his knowledge of Scripture. His prior experiences as pastor and shepherding us these past 5 years has seasoned him in being able to relate and understand both the younger and older attendees. Pastor's preaching is often serious, comprehensible, and even humorous at times. He not only can preach and teach but sings and plays both guitar and piano (He can hit three pointers as well!). I would highly recommend visiting First Baptist Church of Newton and give us an opportunity to help you grow in Christ, in His Word and in fellowship with like-minded believers. To tell you the truth I don't know what that review is talking about, never once have I heard talk of favoring one political party over the other. I heard both parties being prayed for. As for the security almost every church has security or is on bored to getting security these days . Sadly it's a sign of the times . I think having security is a positive step . This is a non-dominational church. To end this review I cant say enough great things about this church or the church body. I was going to 8am mass in the morning when my Protestant friend suggested that I go to Saturday evening mass at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church down the road. My friend said that Protestants only have one Sunday service to go to, so she was stuck... LOL! I borrowed my friend's car and drove because I didn't want to walk for 20 minutes in 46°F weather. The exterior and interior of the church are beautiful! The singer played piano and was excellent! Father Michael Lee was efficient and informative. He even told a St. Patrick's Day joke: Jesus was Irish because: he lived at home until he was 30; his buddies drank with him; and his mom thought he was God... hahaha! Mass observations: For communion, the back of the church goes up first. There were two lines. The baskets are passed across the pews during offertory... and passed backwards in the sections. There were four altar servers - some were female! Father invited everyone to the Fatima/Spain Pilgrimage from October 17 to 26, 2025!

As you can see in the photo the church is very open, spacious, wide and not to mention very well maintained and clean. They have this huge floor-to-ceiling windows with the skies and trees as the background. It was very pleasing and relaxing to look at and it help give the Church an even more solemn feel. The service was beautiful that day too. I didnt know the name of the person who sang during the funeral mass but he had such a beautiful voice. And thats really an understatement. If you had known or heard him sing, you would have been in awe! Wish I had taken a short video clip.
