I came across Beaches Chapel and School being on the list of providers who has a VPK program. Upon calling them to schedule a tour, Jane the front desk receptionist, made it very clear that if you didn't have intentions to enroll your child for further education at their establishment after the VPK program (meaning pay to go there), then they would not accept my child into their VPK program. I am beyond frustrated that they would discriminate against a child just because of a parents financial situation or their intentions to continue school at their establishment. Their name should not even be on the list of approved VPK programs if they are going to pick and choose what children they are willing to work with (or should i say the parents they are willing/not willing to deal with). Because this isn't about us parents, its about the children. And due to this school - my son may not be able to attend a VPK program, which he so desperately needs. I will be contacting the Early Learning Coalition Board to report this school for discrimination. Seems as if they really only care about money! UPDATE: after speaking with the principle, she told me she was a "business woman" and needed to fill her spots with paying students so they can fund their school! Business woman my ass! That's about all she is. Need to get someone in there who cares more about providing an education to their students vs dollar signs! The state is paying her either way for my child to be there with the VPK program. But she said that she doesn't want to have to fill the VPK spots with "non paying students" and then have to worry about filling kindergarten spots the next year. she already wants to have those spots filled from the VPK student so she doesn't have to work twice as hard. WOAH! Is all I have to say. Use your best judgement when choosing this school. And make sure they don't just like you for your MONEY!

Every one seemed average, and just like the rest. When we got to the Red School House, and took a quick tour, we were instantly aware of some, "above and beyond", going on. In the class our little one was going to be in, there were two tables full of very attentive boys and girls doing actual school work! Instantly we knew this was the place. Come to find out we had several friends/ and clients that rave about the school. The entire experience can be summed up into an observation that I made during the Christmas sing along. The staff was very into the whole process. Ambitiously singing in front of several dozen parents and relatives takes a lot of posture, but imagine the dedication it took for them to teach all of those songs to the kids. Our little one has been singing Holiday songs all month long. But the thing that got me was one of the children came late. As he walked up, one of the teachers while in mid song called his name, gave him a quick hug, and said, "I love you", in a very genuine way, then went right back into it. THAT.... is the type of people I want my child around.

The Teachers are great and I haven't met a parent, whose children attend, that doesn't gush and throw accolades their way! If you are looking for a great place to raise your elementary aged children, I would definitely look into the Alimicani neighborhoods.

I found the leadership in the school to be warm and very much engaged with the well-fair of the children. The camp was filled with engaged parents and student volunteers. The children (volunteers) were very well behaved and set a great example. This led us to inquire about enrollment for the school year. I was introduced to the administrator and senior pastor. They were both very nice and invited us to tour classes during session. We have foster children and they were very supportive and went out of their way to provide information on how we can get scholarships for them. They also introduced me to another family that attends the school. If you are looking for a good school, you should visit them. They provide education from VPK through High-school.

It's been 5+ years since I left this school, and I'm graduated from high school, yet I still have…read morerecurring nightmares about being forced to go back here for even one day. One time there were 2 rifles found in a car. No one found about this until 2 years after the incident. One time I received a failing grade for being in the hospital for a week. One time I was told I couldn't use the elevator while on crutches. One time I was kicked out of the library and written up for being disruptive when I was quietly recording a voiceover for a class presentation. One time I was sent to the principals office for being on my phone. I didn't not have a phone. Do not send your children here. It is hell.
