It's been 5+ years since I left this school, and I'm graduated from high school, yet I still have recurring nightmares about being forced to go back here for even one day. One time there were 2 rifles found in a car. No one found about this until 2 years after the incident. One time I received a failing grade for being in the hospital for a week. One time I was told I couldn't use the elevator while on crutches. One time I was kicked out of the library and written up for being disruptive when I was quietly recording a voiceover for a class presentation. One time I was sent to the principals office for being on my phone. I didn't not have a phone. Do not send your children here. It is hell. read more

I've heard a lot of great things about the school and have personal friends that went there and never had any of the complaints. I see in these yelp accounts. I'm not sure why people would be upset that their kids get a lot of homework. That's how you prepare a kid for life schools are so backwards and worry about feelings more than they worry about science Math and English school is a banner school and I really enjoy it! read more

Went here for 10 years, I was pretty miserable. A lot of bullying goes on within the walls, the students are nasty to each other. Very little diversity amongst the student body or administration. It appears that the school administration cares about pandering to the rich white grandparents whom they receive a lot of funding from rather than the students who actually attend. Not very tolerant of the LGBT community at all and don't acknowledge that quite a bit students are actually apart of the community. In general the school is just a very close minded environment. Yes, there are some parts of the school to appreciate, but overrall I can't say I would recommend going here. read more

Came here to see a show the Drama department put on called Little Women. Sat in the student section where presumably the students from Providence sat. It the crew that we sat with are any indication of the type of students that Providence produces then God help us all. Rude and loud, talked and giggled through the first half and made insulting remarks about Filipinos (guess what ethnicity I am). My daughter was upset having never been exposed to in your face and very personal racism. It's ironic that she's been raised in the urban core and attended public schools only to have her first taste of ethnic bullying in a Christian school in suburbia. Didn't stay for the 2nd half. The play was fine, there were some talented singers and the live orchestral music was lovely. Unfortunately, after that introduction to the people in this area, we definitely felt unwelcome. Being one of two non white families who came to the play, only compounded our negative first impression. It was clear the drama department worked hard on this musical, it's too bad that part of the audience played a minor note that left our evening feeling flat. read more

This school sucks. It's difficult to do. Difficult to learn, the teachers are good the friends are good. Heck, that's the only thing good about the school. I want to be homeschooled it's that bad. Just don't go here please. Plus, they don't even let you say "frick" not even when you're at home. My friends and I hate it. THEY SWITCHED TO STEM! STEM! OF ALL THINGS, STEM! That's all. Don't go. Providence is great! The administration really cares about the kids, as do the teachers. The instruction is thoughtful and interesting. There are many organizations and sports groups to get involved with for the students. I highly recommend it. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. They call it a "college prep" school as they give their students an enormous amount of workload each night. Our children are not robots. My son plays a sport after school and my daughter has a job that causes her on multiple nights a week to work from directly after school to 10pm at night. VERY SMART students that truly give their all into this school have GPAs that are so low because of the hard tests and quizzes. I know many teens who are at this "college prep" school that can't even get into a decent college because of their low grades. Might as well save your 12k a year and send your child to public school. Not to mention the administration of this school is supposed to represent Christianity and what my children have witnessed has been FAR from it. The people at this school are two faced, fake, and rude. The "Dean of Women" Mrs. Brooks lays so many harsh rules on the girls as if they aren't even human beings... Just a "distraction" to boys. Not to mention personally victimizing certain girls. This school is far worse and more strict than the Catholic school my children attended and we will be leaving after this year. read more
