I was raised in a church with a choir, stained glass, and hymns. Life Church has a band, a darkened…read more"sanctuary" with huge TV monitors, and contemporary music projected on the screens. It would not be my first choice of church if I were choosing only for myself. However, as the mother of a teenage daughter who has had some struggles and is interested in a lively, vibrant youth community? I couldn't ask for more. There is a huge youth community in this church, and there are young leaders who make them all feel welcome and as if they are a part of something powerful-- which the faithful would agree they are. Youth get opportunities to eat dinners together at youth group every Wednesday night, participate in services that are quite lively and interactive on Sunday mornings, and take part in many different community events that exist to improve the church itself or the community surrounding it. It took very little time for my daughter to feel at home here, which made it an "easy sell" for me. As a community member and educator, I see the difference attending Life Church has made in the lives of other local teens and, again, I couldn't have more positive things to say: there are young people who have totally turned things around for themselves-- but, even more importantly, there are teens who have had challenges figuring out where they "fit" who now have a place where they feel welcome and confident to be themselves. Of course, the adults are also caring and active members of the community. However, my greatest kudos to Life Church is for the difference they're making in the lives of children, youth, teens, and young adults in this little town.

A very large, vibrant Catholic Church located in downtown Oak Harbor, WA. I lived in this town for…read morea few years and would often attend Mass and other religious functions here when I was prevented from traveling to my regular parish. Many different ministries and activities for everyone. Very family friendly as well. Oak Harbor is home to NAS Whidbey Island so the parish is comprised of many military and civil service families.
