The last few years school was really bad honestly. My kids were always scoring low at other outside academic support facilities but at St. Paul's supposedly they were fine. And truly I thought there were behind comparing to some friends kids from other schools. I'm very positive the New staff will make a change. Also being a private school overall matters are very low specially lunch staff Mrs Heather and Chris are very rude to kids they yell at them all the time and over the years I keep hearing from kids they feel treated disrespectfully. Also my kids and their friends learnt to say a lot slang words at the school that was very bad for a private school. read more

St. Paul's has been such positive school environment for our son. At a time when in-person learning was a challenge in public schools, we started thinking about making a change. We toured a number of private schools, but the moment we stepped onto campus for the tour at St. Paul's we knew it was the perfect fit. We moved our sons here after 6th grade and it has been a wonderful change for us. There are some amazing teachers here that are committed to their faith and they conduct chapel weekly. The sports are also quite good and it's nice that they pray before all games. They have a nice beautiful campus and the new principal has been a great addition. We have had all 3 of our kids in this school since they were at the ECDC, so, for about 17 years now, with just a couple of more years to go. I cannot give it high enough marks. The staff is amazing. Their care and love for all of our kids is so reassuring. Knowing that my kids are learning in a safe, Christian environment is so important to us, and this is just what was delivered by their staff. All of our kids have excelled in their education...and all 3 were very different, and had very different needs. The teachers and staff were able to fulfill all of their needs (and, truthfully, ours!). Our kids were very blessed to be a part of this family at St. Paul's. BEWARE. On the surface, St. Paul's Lutheran School seems pristinely perfect. They are a Blue Ribbon School. They have a huge presence in the community. And there are strong ties to Orange Lutheran High School, also known as a standout school in the area. DON"T BELIEVE THE HYPE. I enrolled my son in the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) before grade school and always found the staff to be attentive and caring. They could be standoffish towards me, I assume because we were not members of the church, but my child was well taken care off and that was my main concern. And when we expressed that we might be too advanced for Pre-K, they posed little opposition to testing him to see if might be ready from Kindergarten. He passed with flying colors and was quickly enrolled in their Transitional Kindergarten class for kids that were a bit younger and might need a bit off assistance. He did overwhelmingly well there and finished the school year off in the normal Kindergarten class, promoted to first grade the next year. That was when the trouble started. The first half of the year was uneventful enough. He continued to excel in his schoolwork, and was lauded by his teacher for his enthusiasm. She suggested him for their advanced reader and advanced math programs. And aside from sporadic talking issues, everything was going well. Entering into the second half of the year, things took a turn. His daily reports remained mostly unblemished, but the teacher would often confront us at pick-up time and tell us that he was having behavioral problems. Nice mixed messaging there for a 1st grader. When she told us that he was talking too much during class time, we suggested that she give him more work. He loves school and loves learning. Just needs to be kept busy. She never followed through on this. Then came the bizarre disciplinary measures. He was relegated to sitting the the back of the room by himself during class. He had to sit separate from all of the other students in his class at pick-up. And he was sent to the principal's office when a plush clock hit another student in the shoulder. No one was hurt. There were no tears. But I could see that my child was being labeled a deviant. In the end, I had to remove him from the school before the end of the school year because it was clear that this treatment was having psychological effects on him. He began biting his nails. He became afraid to tell us things because he teacher had told him not to tell "unless someone was hurt or in danger". And he was starting to become reclusive, clearly because he was constantly being singled-out. When I notified the school of that we were considering removing him, they acted as if this was standard operating procedure. They emailed us a release form and washed their hands of us. I wrote a two page letter to the principal outlining the issues my child faced and the reasons why their actions were neither helpful nor Christian, and received no response. It's clear that they don't care. But trust me, they are great with communication when they are trying to raise money for their new sports center. I got lots of emails about that. I think St. Paul's is s good school, even if the lack of diversity in both staff and student body is a little unsettling. Don't get me wrong there. But I think that the nepotism and ties to the church are a major hindrance. If you are not a member, you are an outsider. Period. And if you don't fit into their one-size-fits-all educational approach, there is little support. Period. I'm sure many people love this school, but for the price you pay, I'm not seeing the return. read more

I do not trust the negative reviews previously written here due to the personal social bias that does not reflect the actual quality of the school. This is a great school with Blue Ribbon status. My son has attended for two years -- part year TK, kindergarten and now first grade. He was STRUGGLING both behaviorally and academically at another private school in the area so my husband and I did some research and moved him to St. Paul's. What a world of difference it made for him. St. Paul's teachers are genuinely helpful, caring and approachable. They focus on positive reinforcement to solve behavior or other classroom issues. Class sizes are small (my son's class has less than 20). I never feel as if he will "fall through the cracks" or not receive the attention he needs -- he has both been recognized and praised for advanced level learning as well received help for areas where he needs a little extra push. Parent involvement and volunteering is HUGE - which is great because it contributes to a community feel and helps parents get more involved in the classroom and with their children's learning. My son also loves St. Paul's -- after having such a traumatic experience being moved from his last school, he now calls St. Paul's his "forever" school. It's a great place for your child's education -- both spiritually and academically. read more

I went to St. Paul's many years ago and had such a positive experience. When it was time to choose a school for my children, my husband and I toured a handful of schools in the area and St. Paul's felt like the perfect fit for our family. I have NEVER regretted this decision. The teachers are excellent...They love Jesus and show care for their students. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My kids are engaged in music class, art class, bible class, weekly trips to the school library and weekly chapel worship services. The student body has a lot of fun with dress up days and pep rallies and it is fun to see my own kids have a sense of pride for their school. The campus is large, which is great for my son who loves sports, and there is even an after school dance program, which my daughter has really enjoyed being apart of. We are so grateful for St. Paul's Lutheran School and highly recommend St. Paul's to anyone who is looking for a Christian school with great academics. read more

Trust your gut. I got a terrible feeling from the moment I walked in. I went to tour the school for my son. I notified them he has a current IEP at a public preschool and that's when I felt completely discriminated against. The director said, "so it sounds like your son has some special needs." and then said, "It looks like you're shopping for a day care." Well I got the impression they didn't want to work with him or take the time to review his IEP. The director needs a lesson in customer service. I can not say enough positive things about St. Paul's Lutheran School. Every single teacher on campus is knowledgeable, friendly, creative, approachable, and creative in ways to make learning fun. The teachers, staff and administrators on campus make you feel like part of the family. I love all the ways that the parents can get involved to be a part of their child's education. I am a teacher at a public school, and St. Paul's goes above and beyond what public schools offer. The curriculum at St. Paul's is far better than other schools and we love that our children are learning a second language, have music and art classes. Those are not offered anymore in schools. Not only that but their extra curricular activities after school are amazing. When you come onto campus you are greeted by everybody and they all know your child's name. It feels so personable and I wouldn't want my children to go anywhere else. read more

All three of my kids have attended St. Paul's, starting with pre-school and the last one will graduate this year. I am not a member of the Church, but do go to a local Orange Community Church and have never felt pressure to change churches. A Christian based education was important to my Husband and I and my children got a wonderful education. Teacher and staff were kind, compassionate and they have sport opportunities. Did my kids ever get in trouble ? .... you bet and the administration had strong communication and offered support regarding these learning experiences. Every school has drama and issues, but my kids have long lasting friendships from their time at St. Paul's and were nurtured on many levels. We put our girls in the ECDC and Kindergarten at the main campus this year. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. From the moment that we spoke with someone on the phone to meeting them in person, we knew it was the right decision. The ECDC and Kinder teachers are amazing. I can't speak for others since I haven't experienced them yet. The girls love going to school, are meeting amazing little friends, learning so much and coming home telling US about God. It's such a great feeling that they are learning life lessons along with Gods Word. I can't imagine them going anywhere but St. Paul's! The after school care (SAC) is great, too. For the parents that have to pick their kids up a little later, this is great! Not to mention you can sign you kid up for dance and don't have to actually take them to a studio somewhere else. Our daughter had a rough start to kindergarten at our local public school. Feeling helpless but determined to make her kindergarten year successful, I walked into St. Paul's without notice. I was greeted by kind people who stopped what they were doing to answer my questions and give me a tour. The admissions and enrollment process were easy and help was just an email away. After starting kindergarten there, our daughter is excited to go to school and had many friends. I have even found her singing worship songs in the backyard. Another pleasant surprise is the genuinely kind interactions I have had with administrators, staff, and other parents. Our family couldn't be happier to be apart of the St. Paul's family.
