Her presence is still with me though through memories, our two boys and three grandkids. Our oldest passed away last month due to diabetes. Father Smith was the priest that day. Besides the ceremony itself, there was a happening at that time that my wife would never let me forget. She coming down the aisle father in hand and me and the best man (older brother) coming from the side. Almost halfway to where Father Smith stood I tripped and my brother caught me. She said she had one very hard time to keep from busting out laughing. Her dad saw it too and was probably thinking, "I'm going to turn my little girl back and go the other way".

I was extremely disturbed and disappointed at the way mass turned out. Father Emmanuel was hyper-fixated on people's attire, and wasted no time to constantly shame our guest about it. He brought up attire on multiple occasions even through everyone was covered up and I didn't see anyone that stood out dressed "inappropriately" for mass. It really put a cloud over my daughter's celebration. We walked out of mass confused, and extremely disturbed. He lost the essence of a quinceañera celebration by constantly talking about "women's breast" and shaming them to receive the body of Christ from the other helper instead of him. It was all around a terrible experience.

I just left a meeting with pastor Glen to plan my grandparents funeral.. I originally chose this church because my mom attended here for the last 20 years.. she left due to discrepancies in teachings & discriminatory remarks made against criminals, the lgbtq community, amongst many other things.. during the meeting he proceeded to ask me for my beliefs, if I attend church, etc. I explained to him that I recently moved to the IE & have yet to find a church to attend. He then asked my partner who is a female, and she told him she was raised as a Mormon and is here to support me & my family. He diverted from planning my grandparents funeral to an immediate response of "You know you're going to hell right?" Told her that she's a heathen, that she should consider removing her tattoos because those are a sin as well but that in itself won't eradicate her sin of being a Mormon.. said that because of her belief she clearly doesn't believe in God & that if she doesn't convert to Christianity when she dies God is going to tell her he doesn't know her & she will have to deal with those consequences. Even had the audacity to ask her when she gets to the gates and God asks her why she thinks she should be let in, what she would say.. & with a respectful response she replied saying she would tell Him she is a Child of God.. he immediately cut her off & told her that she is not a Child of God & whatever she's been taught she believes in whatever God they made up.. After about 10 minutes of the most uncomfortable conversation, she kept her composure & stayed silent.. he smirked once he finished talking and sarcastically said "Oh I made her mad didn't I?" At the end of the day God doesn't teach us to judge one another, regardless of who you are or what religion you believe in. Matthew 7:1! He teaches love & understanding, & in the 30 minutes that we had to endure with this man.. I have never felt so belittled in my life, for a man like this to be guiding people to God is crazy!!! HE ISN'T BEING USED AS GODS INSTRUMENT & NO ONE SHOULD FOLLOW OR LISTEN TO HIM! I WILL NEVER COME BACK!

Needless to say, I expected it to be a bit crowded, and possibly a bit chaotic. But it was incredibly organized. As many people there were accompanying them many beautiful babies, the whole thing went (almost unbelievably) smoothly. Its location is a bit unusual given it is right in the middle of two streets. Parking is across at the opposite corner which got packed rather quickly. It's a beautiful church, though. I'd probably return should an occasion like this come up again.
