The camp truly is a great respite from the daily pressures of life offering a great place to unwind and draw closer to God. As we were getting our spiritual batteries recharged there was time to indulge in basketball, boating, miniature golf, singing and roasting some hot dogs, marshmallows and s'mores on the campfire. The staff at the camp are not just Awesome, but phenomenally Awesome! We are thankful to God for Bruce, the director of the camp who has always made our stay here a pleasure and ensuring all our needs were met. We especially appreciate Bruce for getting the boats in the water for us and getting the boats and us out of the water, he literally is a one man show at the boating dock. In the past Chef Jose and Lucas made sure we were all well fed. This year a new Chef is in town and his name is Rusty! Don't let the name fool you, they call him Rusty but his culinary skills are far from it. Rusty and his kitchen staff cranks out some delicious meals and our waistlines can account to it. If you have any dietary restrictions they can accommodate you as well. Our congregation has been coming here for well over 12 years and we are always looking forward every year coming here. After I attended a recent yelp workshop about reiki healing, It inspired me to search for a place that focused on natural and holistic living and that's when I discovered Ms. Linda and the lovely wellness in harmony center. Being a busy social worker, auntie, daughter and all my other earthly titles, can get overwhelming, not to mention, I'm considered an "empath" so I'm sensitive to people's energies- yupp I'm weird lol. With all that going on, it can create an inbalance within and take me away from my authentic loving self. Ms. Linda worked with me to balance my energies through meditation, reiki and chakra healing. We discussed the importance of nature, plants, essential oils, bath salts and himalayan salt lamps. Overall I left feeling mentally refreshed with mindfulness and the readiness for a new start. I've seen Liz on and off for several years for shiatsu massage which actually has significantly helped with my asthma. Now that I have begun my nursing career, I find shiatsu to be a great addition to help avoid muscle injury and fatigue. Liz is also a licensed physical therapist and incorporates her training and experience in PT into her shiatsu practice. Liz is down-to-earth and friendly and happy to chat with you during your session or respect your preference for silence. She doesn't use any offensive, scented oils or lotions in her practice and you get to keep your clothes on! She makes sure to check in with you to ask about pain throughout the treatment. Her fee is very reasonable in my opinion - $90 for one hour. You pay Liz directly for scheduling and payment so there is no having to deal with the Becoming Center as a middle-man. The space she uses is warm and relaxing and comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in finding an experienced shiatsu practitioner not connected to a spa.

I showed her an Instagram video of the cut and expressed that my son was getting married in 2 weeks, so this cut was important. I was in the chair maybe 4 minutes, head bent forward, snip, side to side snip and the cut was done. After researching how this cut was usually done, I was beside myself. The Blow-out was spent with her fingers throughout my hair with strands flying everywhere. This blowout was faster than my own. I thought, maybe she'll go over the cut when dry but then unsnapped the black cape and said she was done. I said, "That's it?" and she replied "yep!". I got out of the chair and immediately canceled the next appointment which was the special blowout the day of my son's wedding. I thought, I can do that myself. The cut was pricey and uneven. Sometimes you don't get what you pay for.

The poses transform your body in ways that make you feel amazing. I feel relaxed, and energized at the same time. Yes, it's possible :) Laelia is a fantastic instructor. She taught the poses while letting me have my own experience. I have been in some classes where the instructor having all of the best intentions... sometimes takes you out of the experience with too much directing, talking, or distracting busy movements.
