I wish they would show the Stations of the Cross frescoes created by artist Jean Charlot that decorate the ceiling.

Aloha, I have to agree with Kalani. I would not recommend this church. Very cliquish. Pastor John…read morehas passed. Now Pastor Shannon is there. Do not try and confide in her. Same old lip service. They think they are better! If your goal is to find a hypocrite then go here and just listen. Lip service and very condescending. Mark 7:6-7 sums it up best: He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain, their teachings are merely human rules.' Look at Romans 12:9 "Love must be sincere." If you want to hang with hypocrites stop in or ask a local for a real place of worship. This church is a prime example of why people have turned away from the church.

I have visited Kauai 10 times now over 16 years and I always come to this church because it was where I felt God lead me. We like it very much. The welcoming atmosphere is fantastic. Music sounds great, singers are outstanding. Spirit Filled (which means you may hear praying, praising and singing in an unknown language, tongues so if you're not familiar with that it will be a new experience for me it's awesome You can feel their earnest love for God I've seen a few of these negative comments and I can tell you that there's good and bad and every single church I've ever been to. You have to ask God to lead you and give you discernment whether you should be listening to people. Bless you in your search. Hope this helps .

The road dead ends near an overlook with tight parking, but you can see out and down to the ocean and the walls are covered with birds of all types. A gate stops you from entering the grounds of the reserve and lighthouse. If you go to recreation.gov you can make reservations to visit, there is usually a fee, but we came on a free day. Past the gate, you drive down a steep drive to a parking area with government buildings. You then walk out to the ranger station, gift shop and lighthouse area. This is a historical location which should be explored. It is also a reserve for animals and you will mostly see the birds and learn about them. You can get your national park stamp and visit the gift shop. Lots to see, and I would add this as a must see on Kauai! You will have to plan ahead to get your reservation.

Nowadays, although outdated and no longer in service, this lighthouse still serves as a popular beacon for tourists visiting one of the most frequently visited attractions on the island. Situated within the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, you'll have to pay admissions in order to enter. We serendipitously showed up on one of the admission-free day without even realizing it, so was only subject to the $1 reservation fee. There are several parking lots after you pay, all of which fill up fast. However, the ranger will direct you where to find available spots. The walk to the lighthouse will treat you to some breathtaking views of the cliffs and water below. And if you're lucky, some nice variety of marine life in addition to the plethora of birds flying around. We happened to see a swimming sea turtle at one point at the cliffs below thanks to the crystal-clear Hawaii waters. And although you can walk right up to the lighthouse to take pictures, entrance into the lighthouse itself is barred as they have suspended tours inside.
