    Dr. Hickman is the best eye doctor on the northshore. She was able to diagnose my problem when no one else could. Thank you!

When I checked in, she asked for my ID and insurance card, which I handed over. Had the eye exam. Everything went great. Go to checkout and I'm told that my vision insurance is out of network, so I'll have to pay the full amount of the visit. That they stopped accepting my vision insurance. I asked why at no point was I informed of this and they couldn't give me an answer. I always check in network/out of network for new doctors. But I've previously gone here (and so has my son), so it didn't even cross my mind to make sure they still accepted our insurance. If they're in network for you, great! The docs are awesome! But you never know when you'll suddenly become out of network and not be told until after your exam. The office manager was helpful in providing me the information needed to file an out of network claim with my insurance. However, at no point did a receive an apology or a promise to better train her staff.

I have never in 30 years have gone thru any of this. Dec.2023 made an appt in person with the girl there. 12/20/23 @6:46pm she calls me to tell me she can't find my insurance info online. Mind you I'm paying out of pocket for CONTACTS. She said I had to call my insurance company & could not be seen. Went back in person and Michael scheduled my appt for contacts and told me everything will work out. 1/4/24 went in for contact appt, spent $159.00 and had my Rx for glass from other doctor and decided to get glasses here. After being here 3-4 hours Augusta helped me, found my insurance information right away & said it covers my contacts. I said wow that's good. Placed an order for glasses & contacts. After I told him i wanted to try the contacts first but he said its better I order contacts now because its a good deal and only have to pay tax for contacts. 1/7/24 I called Augusta to tell him I need a different brand trial for contacts because the ones I had to dry. He said the doctor would get back to me on Tuesday 1/9/24. On 1/12/24 I go pick up my glasses & told Augusta the doctor didn't call me. He said something happened and he would call me on Tuesday 1/16/24. I tried my glasses on right away I felt nauseous and that it was strong. Michael and Augusta insisted that I take them and give them a try for 2 weeks and I have 60 days for return or problem. 1/15/24 I get a call my contacts are ready. I spoke with Michael told him my frustration I was feeling of all this back and forth. He heard me out apologize & said he would call me back that afternoon. That afternoon Augusta calls to say he will have my contacts order. 1/17/24 I go in ask why the doctor didn't call me on Tuesday 1/16 and why haven't I receive new trails to try. Michael was there that day and completely ignored me. Augusta was all confused and right there I just returned my glasses of spending $498.44 I asked him can you please call me when my contact trails come in since they already charged my insurance company for them. Well here we are today 1/24/24 no contacts. It's a shame how many chances I gave to make this right. I hope no one else go through this.
