Sure, everyone is nice and friendly and welcoming just like any other church, after all, "put on Sundays best right?!" Problem is, what did Jesus say? Mat 23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. And another reminder of what Jesus instructed: Jhn 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. To say God does not create evil is not truth. On another note, the presence of the Holy Spirit was not there. A lack of love, it's more of a facade. Be careful people. Looks can be deceiving. My wife ended up becoming real close to her colleague which informed her about Heritage Fellowship she attended frequently on Sundays which suggested my wife and I should attend to see if we would like it. So one Sunday my wife and I woke up and decided that we would give this church a shot. YC (Yelp Community) we both were 100% satisfied with the church and the pastor (Rev. Dr. N. A. Tate). We were in such awe on the sermon he delivered. I mean he delivered the word in a way that it was easy for any person to understand. I mean you can tell that he had a lot of experience because he knew how to change and control the mood of the room with just speech. Something which I feel is very hard for a pastor to do. His sermon was so well prepared and delivered that I was hooked on his every word until the end of service. That is hard for pastor to accomplish especially with the younger generation. But Rev. Tate is very experience and is very good at executing his sermons. Since that first sermon my wife and I have been attending this church for over a year now. We get a little disappointed when he doesn't preach but the other pastors filling in for him do a good job as well but for me not as good but that's just my opinion. So if you don't have any plans Sunday and you are in the area then give Heritage a visit I know you'd enjoy it especially if pastor Tate is preaching.

I used to attend this church regularly and serve on several ministry groups. Separate church and State. It's a mistake to mix the two. Also, the quality of the church went downhill through the torrent of pastors and settled on one who doesn't fit the area or my needs. By my standards, he's a stale, pale, male, and his preaching was exclusionary. His answer would be (I've heard it) to "don't ask him, ask God; read your Bible." I have. I'm glad not to have the leadership of souls in my hands, it's true. However, when I arrived at this church, I was so impressed with the teaching and the ability to remain silent where the Bible remains silent on topics. I specifically remember Lon saying, "Where the Bible is silent, we can have opinions, but we must remain silent as leaders and counsel prayer." It's clear that Lon has opinions. He's made them clear and public now, but not when I attended MBC. When that ended, so did my attendance at this church.

A lot of people think that church is boring and honestly don't truly enjoy going...but if you come to New Life, they will change your mind on that. The pastors are knowledgeable and funny. Her memorial service was held at her local church last Sunday. Sitting at her service, with her art on the walls, listening to her friends and family talk about her spiritual life, her artistic life, her job life, I realized how little I knew about this diminutive redhead -- because she was always much more fascinated with everyone else -- instead of telling her own story. As one Global Nomad said, "I know I am a Global Nomad because Norma told me I am." Norma created a global family, a tribe, an identity for "Third Culture Kids," "military brats," "diplo brats," "corporate brats" and "global mutts." Norma would definitely tell you that the next president of the U.S. is a Global Nomad. He too would have been welcome.
