James was kind enough to guide us in the right direction to fight them (which we didn't know we could) and after almost 2 years, we had our settlement. James (owner), Nick (project manager) and both crews (roofing and painting) were outstanding to do business with. Everything was explained up front; crews were here on time every day and cleaned up so well that you would never have known they were here - except for the beautiful new roof! Caesar and his painting crew were top-notch. Our 1966 ranch house had a LOT of places to caulk - and let me tell you they went through so many cases of caulking! Found 1st choice roofing and hired to fix sections of my roof less than a year ago (June 2024). In…read moreaddition to the repair cost, they charged $700 for it being a 3 story home and another $600 for the pitch angle. At the time when the repair was being done, the speed at which they were working was a little concerning. This was due to the fact that I was sold on replacing all vents on the roof as well but witness the technicians leave without doing so. They came back soon after me contacting the project manager that I only only saw them go up with a bundle of shingles before and proceeded to complete the vent replacements. Once they completed the repairs, I contacted the project manager again and asked for drone footage of the repairs so I could compare them to the initial inspection photos. He then got offensive stating that his technicians were risking their lives in order to repair my roof and kept saying they stand by their workmanship and provide a 1 year warranty. I started to suspect the project manager did not fully explain to the technicians on what to repair and only repaired the obvious damage and not the improperly installed shingles the project manager sold me on to repair. Fast forward to today (April 2025), sections of my roof have shingles blowing off again which are photographed in the initial inspection last year. I contacted 1st choice to start a warranty claim and was soon told they can warranty shingles they replaced but the ones that were missed a few feet away is considered new damage and had to be treated at such. I told them ok, please get me an estimate on the repair and we can proceed with the warrantied areas. After receiving the estimate, they again charged the 3 story fee and pitch angle fee even though they will be going up to repair the warrantied areas anyways because it is "to be treated as new damage" while also stating on the estimate that they no longer can warranty any repairs because of the build material. I would not have found out my roof was damaged if I didn't switch insurance company and they send an inspector out to look at my roof. Missed agreed upon repairs and damaged repairs they are hesitant to fix. If they are currently working on your home, make sure you have footage of the completed agreed repairs after. If you're considering, make sure you have everything documented to cover yourself cause they are for sure covering themselves.

I had 4 roof repair companies come out to give me an estimate. It turned out, I had a leak around one pipe jack. Most gave me the option to seal around or replace the whole pipe jack and seal. The prices varied, but a coupe wanted to charge me double the others for pipe jack replacement. Finally, I got one last quote from José at Legendary Roofing. He gave me such a detailed explanation of the repair and my options. He charged me the same as the lower end quotes I received for the pipe jack replacement, but he also replaced all the pipe jacks on my house and did roof maintenance for that price. He also noticed some broken shingles from a tree rubbing against my house and replaced that too, all for a great price. I felt like he cared and took his time. And he showed me detailed pictures of everything done. Now, in 2020, he was the only one I called when I had a leak in a new area. He provided great detail, showed pictures of what was happening and showed me in my attic as well where a potential new leak could happen. He even gave me the option to seal the problem children for free versus replacing the plywood and shingles. I went with his recommendation to replace the plywood and shingles, and he also included some vents to my attic/roof for the cost. The repair was complete two days later.

He fixed numerous issues that the old roof had. He added proper ventilation, a really nice looking z-ridge on the peaks, did it the right way. The service is outstanding, from beginning to end. He takes pride in his work. He explained everything along the way. He was out working with the crew. He inspected everything and fixed a few things himself that he wanted done a little more precisely. He also came out after his crews had cleaned to take a second pass at cleaning. Literally picking up small pieces of plastic and wanting to find those few extra nails that were hiding.
