They use the same power laser and it is literally torture (if you are AFAB I'm sure it didn't hurt at all). I had two sessions, cried after both, and thought I would have to give up on this. The pain was so intense I can't overstate it. I do have coarse hair (and a lot of it) so maybe if you don't have much facial hair, but still. They are clearly tuned to the finer hair of AFAB, which is fine, but I had no idea this level of pain isn't normal. Go to a place that *has* electrolysis, but don't actually get electrolysis to start (one I switched to is Sunswirl in darmouth) they are much more medical and actually understand different hair types. Not only was the prep work more throughout (making sure it's shaved close enough, cleaned, etc) but the pain was actually tolerable. They will actually respond to how painful it is for you, and adjust. Oh ya, the price is also insane. The other place I'm at is *less* *without* any discount (less than dermaenvy's 50% discount for gender care) and they do also have some discount for gender care on packages of 3+

I've visited this place several times over the years, but my experience has consistently been…read moredisappointing. The cleanliness was lacking, the service felt rushed, and my manicure chipped after just two days. During my last visit, I noticed the owner wore only one glove throughout the entire appointment and never changed it. He touched everything--money, multiple clients, tools--without once changing that glove. On two separate occasions, I happened to be there when someone, possibly a tax auditor, was questioning the owner about their paperwork. Strangely, the debit machine was down every time I visited, and I was told to pay in cash, with the owner suggesting I withdraw money from the Scotiabank next door. The eyebrow wax was decent, probably the only service I'd consider getting here again in a pinch.
