I am…read morea fan of the Olympics and religious about watching the events on TV and when possible attending an event, so I had to at least see the venue. Parc Olympique was the site of the 1976 summer Olympics. These are the Olympic games that propelled Nadia Comaneci to stardom. The venue is known for it's tower which is set at 45 degrees and affords a view of the Montreal skyline. It is 165 meters high. Presently it is closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Note that when admission is possible it is closed on Mondays. The cost to climb the tower was $15 and if you add the cost of stadium parking $20 people hesitate to visit. Days when traffic is light you will be able to find street parking close by. Besides climbing the tower you can see the the Olympic size swimming pool which is still used by the Olympic diving and swimming team.. The 5 five rings of the Olympics are still up including the medal stand. The Biodome which replicates the four ecosystems found in the United States requires a separate admission cost. The Planetarium is adjacent to dome is worth seeing. Across the street, Maisonneuve Park is home to the Montreal Botanical Garden and Insectarium. Saputo soccer Stadium can be found here as well. The bottom line is that I would not recommend Parc Olympique for everyone but it was interesting to see for me since it is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Montreal and is a unique dome.

Cons : - Hazardous stairs with NO RAMPS. Going down these stairs in winter would be insanely dangerous. A few people slipped and that's simply due to clumsiness or booze. I had free hot dogs with my ticket and you get the most generic steamies with buns that BROKE APART when you opened them!!!? Concession prices beat the Bell Center! SERIOUSLY, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? My friend ordered a poutine and a beer and set him back $28. - I thought the seating for the Bell center was uncomfortable! You literally sit in tiny spaces on a long bench with no leg room. God forbid someone tall wants to sit somewhere comfortable! What if someone slightly overweight sits beside you? It was so uncomfortable and it was all I can think of! My butt still hurts after 24 hours! My back was in pain due to lack of back support. Worse than sitting in economy on a Air Transat flight! - Nothing against the stadium but CFL games are SO LONG. Why are there so many commercial breaks? Does this game really need to be 3+ hours long? You play for 1 hour, why am I here for 2 more? You want people to get bored and hungry and pay the 300% mark-ups I bet. Thankfully the walk down the hill when I left early helped leaving this underwhelming experience. I wonder how safe it is during the winter...

I've only been here post-covid so my experience here is different. Everything is closed and the…read moreonly thing to eat is from the vending machines but they never work and are never restocked when they do work. Same thing for the game machines, almost all are empty or out of service. It's a real shame because everything else is well maintained, the bathrooms and the ice, and the general cleanliness of the arenas. They don't enforce masks so I've noticed a slew of new people just taking theirs off once past the door which is concerning. The only times I'm here are to watch my partner's hockey games and if it wasn't for that, I would gladly never come here.

Adam and I arrived at around 2:30pm to enjoy the festivities and practices before our 6pm game. I got so much free swag it's insane. Shampoo, pop socket, pictures, food, keychain of a tennis ball, a little radio to listen to the audio commentary during my game, and drinks. The only thing I paid for was my lanyard to put my tickets in (it was $10! but I plan on using it next year too). There are so many booths with fun info, games, prized, screens, air conditioning, lounging areas, and so much more. During the afternoon games (1pm) it empties out and there are more seating options and the lines for everything are much shorter which is a plus. Food wise, I got the regular poutine to eat during the match and it was ok. It was a bit expensive but that's to be expected. Water is insanely expensive ($3.50). I didn't realize you could bring an empty water bottle to fill up but you can so keep that in mind. The only water fountains available are near the bathrooms though so I think they could improve on that. Games last pretty long if you stay for doubles. Lots of people leave but I loved seeing the differences in gameplay. Keep in mind if you are late to a game or late coming back from a break, they won't let you in until next break. People coming in and out and sitting down makes a lot of noise. I really loved my time here and I already can't wait for next year!

You can bring your own food, otherwise the food on site gets quite pricey if you go to multiple sessions. However, prices are often better there then the Centre Bell for example. A minor issue is the communication between volunteers. I have noticed that the same question would give a different response depending on the volunteer.

Apparently they cover it with a dome in winter! Can be a little tricky to find the entrance so if it's your first time I recommend you park at the arena parking lot then take the path at the south end of the arena and continue waking south. You'll see the entrance to the stadium after 30secs
