Great tasting food and a nice place. Sit by the canal or inside in the sun room. Dutch split pea soup with sausage is great! Fast and friendly service.

Followed a writing about a one day itinerary in Delft and she mentioned this resto. It is very romantically located by the canal. Has a large seating area on main floor and top floor. Had to try Dutch pancake on our trip here. Serving is big and filling. Pancake is light and thin. Tried two savoury pancakes - bacon and apple, bacon, onion and cheese and both were good. Staff was nice to translate the menu for us. Very unique way of putting our order in a credit-size card. Then we bring this card to the cashier to pay. She scans the barcode on the card and our order shows up.

Really cute place with a beautiful view of the canal. Limited vegan options but there are some.

This is a very popular spot in Delft so I figured I should check it out. I had heard that their savory pancakes are legendary so that's what I got. I got the Dutch pancake with mushrooms, cheese and spinach. The pancake is light and cooked perfectly and it was stuffed with the fillings. The side salad was fresh and had mangos which was a very pleasant and sweet surprise to go with my savory pancake. The coffee I ordered was a bit too sweet for me but it was expertly made. If you enjoy caramel and sweet whipped cream this is definitely the coffee for you. The service was friendly and laid back. The whole cafe had a really relaxed atmosphere. There is free WiFi.

    Very clean kitchen!!!

Me and my husband found this place by accident, walking around. So we tried some sweets for teatime. We ordered apple pie and chocolate cake with some tea and coffee. Both of them were pretty good. But what we didn't know was that they have high tea! If we didn't have lunch, we could have done that!!! But by asking the waiter about all of those trophies above the casher and everywhere in the restaurant, we found out that they are the champions of Holland sandwich contest year after year! I wish I was there for lunch time and tasted their organic award winning sandwiches!!! People, go there for your lunch time and try their sandwiches! (cons: They don't bake their bread there but it's coming from local bakery.) Their stuff members are very friendly and the interior is so cute! Bathroom is one of the cutest I've ever seen. It's covered with broken Delft ceramics! I would totally going back to Stads if I have a chance to go to Delft someday again.

This place was great for our family! Right inside the door is a table with children's puzzles and hard cover books that entertained our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter! The table seats around 8. We didn't take the whole table, and another man joined us, but it was no problem. They also offer awesome outdoor seating! The sandwiches were wonderful, and the coffees quite good! It may have been a bit pricey but not overly so! They do accept credit cards!

Aka the shop for all your stroopwafel needs. I honestly never knew they came in so many flavors. So…read moremany. If nothing else, come for all the samples. And if you're able to attend one of their short demonstrations. It'll happen either in the basement with the full theater kitchen or in the back of the shop at a little counter. Either way, they'll give you some of what is made for a taste, and I never realized just how good freshly made, warm stroopwafel was. It is amazing. O.o We were part of a tour group and the demo came as part of the package. If you're on your own, I think it may cost a few euros. Woltje's Backerij, or Woltje's Bakery, consists of a shop (1st floor), bakery (downstairs), and museum (upstairs). They sell chocolates, ice creams, and waffles, but their main focus are stroopwafels. This is a Dutch signature wafer consisting of thinner brown sugar wafers with a caramel filling that was traditionally laid over the top of a steaming cup of tea, hence the circular shape. The founder/original baker was a woman (who I get the feeling was a pillar of her community) who apparently took the original recipe and made it her own into the Volendamse wafel. Nowadays, Woltje's seems to have stuck with the base recipe but have expanded in terms of variety with four base categories (caramel, speculaas/cookie butter, honey, and chocolate-covered). Seriously, there was an APPLE PIE stroopwafel. And I REALLY love the chocolate covered ones. Those are really satisfying bites. Again, we came as part of a tour group. The majority of the group were led down for a presentation in the basement kitchen. Meanwhile, we were in the group of remaining people (who couldn't fit) and were given a much more intimate, close-up presentation at a little counter set up in the back of the store. I think the basement presentation was more of how the bakery makes or used to make stroopwafels in large batches. While I would have liked the see the kitchen myself, but seeing the actual process closely and also a lot of fun. I'd love to try to make some myself. Overall, this was a really fun stop and I loved tasting everything. Most importantly, I thought the short demonstration was great and the discovery that warm stroopwafels are AMAZING. Additionally, the packs and tins they sell make for great souvenirs. For cookies, they're actually pretty sturdy and could actually take a bit of pressure. All of ours got back to the States without any problems.

STROOOOOOOP WAAAAFFFLLLLEEEEE!!!…read more If you don't know what a stroop waffle is, you should. Its a classic Dutch dessert consisting of two very thin crispy waffles with some sweet warm caramel syrup between them...its pure magic. BUT! You need to get it fresh, don't fall for the cold, dry and inferior prepackaged stroop waffles. For a mere €2, one of Woltje's divine Dutch divas will hand craft you a hot, fresh, caramel crispy stroop waffle..a perfect ratio of carb crunch, sweet caramel, and joy exploding in your mouth. Eat this!
