Stag bakeries has a great café in the centre of town. Known for their freshly made baked goods it is the place to go for lunch or a place to meet a friend for coffee. The café is relatively small with roughly 8 tables and is constantly busy no matter what time of day you go in. The provide soft drinks or teas and coffee and a huge range of bakery made that day by their bakers. Their rolls are simply delicious and their sausage rolls are highly recommended. They also do a large range of sandwiches, salads and hot foods. Definitely one of the better cafes in Stornoway. read more

The Saag Bakery cafe in Stornoway is bright and airy. Tables are always clean and the staff friendly. You can pop in to get a sandwich, pies or cakes to take away or sit in at a table for a cup of tes or coffee. I feel the shop floor area is quite claustrophobic, there are too many tables to get round before reaching the counter, and if there are people sitting in it can be difficult to reach their without tripping over bags! I've taken to avoide the baguettes here as quite often they're past their best when being used as a sandwich. Pies are delicious as are the cakes and sandwiches and prices are fair. Worth popping in for the scotch pies alone. read more
