As you walk in you are greeted to freshly made bakery, rolls and bread. They have a hot stand which keeps bacon rolls and many pasties warm. They also have a large range of sandwiches and salads. Usual groceries fresh vegetable, meat, tinned goods, frozen items are found here as well. It can get very busy and at times the queues can be known to go far along the aisles, but they move relatively fast. A very handy shop to have as the supermarkets are located out of the town centre.

The Woodland centre located in the Castle grounds. It's easy to miss the turn off point on the road…read moreout to it as it's hidden away in the trees but once you get down the road you are greeted to a beautiful view of Stornoway surrounded by trees, wildlife and oversized carvings of the Lewis Chess Men. Lunchtimes can be very busy and occasionally tables aren't available. The food is always great with a large selection of soups, sandwiches, salads, teas etc. They also have a small gift shop with crafts from locals. After you eat it's great to go for a walk along the grounds and up to the Castle. The views of Stornoway from up there are beautiful.

The tables are old trestle sewing machines and there is a great selection of art work on the walls ( all for sale ). The staff are very friendly and helpful , so much so , that we returned on our homeward journey . We weren't disappointed .
