Really enjoyed my visit, and checking out all the sticks in their large walk-in humidor. They have a large smoking lounge room, 2 large TVs there. I went to another cigar shop just at the Historical Plaza; no go for me. Instead I will for sure go back to the Stag! read more

Stag Tobacconists: This place has a great selection of good cigars and I think at a reasonable price. Here's the (my) real deal about this place... Before leaving the state I stopped in at Stag. I bought 4 pretty good cigars (rated 94) in a variety pack. Two were absolutely wonderful and merit the rating. Sadly two were dry. Three weeks later when I returned to Santa Fe and needed some cigars I went to Stag. I let one of the tobacconist know about my experience. Amazingly, I thought, and without any hesitation, told me to pick two comprable cigars. Are you kidding me... a business where customers are important and respected. Basically: good people, good product, good place. read more

Updating my review of four years ago. Stag is still the best in town and now has a very well furnished smokers lounge with easy chairs. There's also a nice chess board with comfortable chairs. Plenty of large ashtrays and convenient cigar lighters scattered about. There are two giant screen TV's as well and a coffee pot. Wednesday afternoons, starting at about 4:00, there's an informal group of pipe smokers. Plenty of lively chatter and an easy way to meet other pipe smokers from theses parts. There are always a few cigar smokers on hand. Overall, a relaxing escape from whatever you might've been doing. Check it out. read more

Swung into the Santa Fe Stag Tobacconist. They had a better knowledge of their pipe tobacco's then the last time I was here. They expanded their smoking lounge which was very nice. Expanded their meerschaum pipe selection but don't have any restored estates pipes. Overall nice improvement. read more

This is a great shop with friendly and welcoming owners. They have a great selection that my husband likes and have other goods for sale as well if you feel like browsing around a bit. I got to see their lounge transformation, which they are doing a wonderful job(I heard it's not complete yet, so cool to see what the full outcome is) My husband is very particular about things, so the fact that he's a return customer is a good sign haha read more

There is a decent selection here, but it doesn't make up for the lousy customer service. If you catch the owner, be prepared for the usual condescending treatment from a good ol' boy type of guy. The rest are cool, but the owner is usually around, making this a place to skip. I recommend Primo or Santa Fe Cigar Shop over this place. They are both classier all around. read more

Stag used to be my exclusive store for Raw cigarette filters...and the occasional cigar or ryo pack of American Spirit. I had recently purchased a can of American Spirit which had fermented and wanted to ask his opinion about other brands of additive-free tobacco. He admonished me for buying tobacco somewhere else and said "why should I tell you about other brands if you're just going to buy it somewhere else?" I have probably spent over $500 with this business, and even brought fudge to them several Christmases....and this is how they treat a loyal customer. I told him I was purchasing my cigarette filters from him because I believe in doing business locally, even though it costs me more. He didn't seem to care. If I were rich enough to pay an extra $15 per can for tobacco, perhaps I would.....but it wouldn't be here. I just purchased 10 packs of filters online at a savings of $1.32 per package....and I didn't even get yelled at! read more

Would not go back. I spent over $300 on a vaporizer and it did work and they did nothing for me when I returned it less than 20 hours later. They checked it out and agreed that it did not work but would not replace it, exchange it or anything else for me. The big man smoking a stinky cigar was sorta rude. read more
