Free car parking, though it sometimes takes 15 minutes to actually find a free spot that isn't staff reserved parking. Four places to eat and drink for visitors, that I've found - Broccles, Spice Of Life (in the same building on the entrance road), the Friends Centre (near Outpatients) and Cafe Tazza (inside Outpatients). None spectacular, but all offer reasonable food and drink. Outpatient staff were very friendly and helpful, and considerate. Nursing staff very considerate and, with the small experience that we've had of physio, skilled. Good accessibility, as you'd expect. Take care when driving around, as there are quite a few wheelchairs zipping around (well, zipping down the hills and labouring up them).

She and the hospital know they are putting my health at risk by denying me the care to which I am entitled. Sat in the Emergency/Urgent care waiting area for four hours before I was told there is no treatment for my symptoms and just sent home. I told the receptionist I was there because I thought I had the flu. I told the healthcare professional that took my temperature and blood pressure that I was there because I thought I had the flu. Neither of them told me that they don't treat my symptoms. It wasn't until I saw a doctor after four hours of waiting that I was told there is nothing to be done about the flu. The doctor was rude, too. I told him I didn't go to class because I didn't want to get anyone sick. He said, "So you came here to get the doctor sick?" THE DOCTOR IS WHO YOU SEE WHEN YOU ARE SICK. THAT IS YOUR JOB. He asked what I ate that day and the judged what I had to eat that day, "It's pretty odd to be eating that" when I'm feeling this way (Ok, so I'll starve myself. Oh wait, already did that in the waiting room). I left with nothing to help me feel better and humiliated enough to want to kill myself :)

One time I waited until gone 5:30, four and a half hours in a hot sticky waiting room, listening to the nurse talk loudly about every poor patients condition, only to be seen by a doctor that literally had such bad English she called in another nurse to help her understand what I was saying. Forty minutes for a straightforward prescription, not in a busy period I hasten to add. And. All of this after most the time spending 30+ minutes driving around to park in the car park getting stressed you'll miss an appointment, to pay a fortune to park. The only reason it isn't a 1* is because I think the NHS is a great institution.

It was the summer so I would spend my time sitting both in and outside. The surroundings are very modern and generally nice for a hospital. The car park costs 4.00 for the day, however I recommend parking along the main road just past the hospital coming from Barnet as there is free parking along that road. A short walk and you have saved yourself 4.00! There are two places to eat and drink in the hospital - a coffee shop open during the day and the canteen open till late. I found the cafe latte in the coffee shop to be weak and poor value for money. The canteen is cheaper but typical canteen food. The place itself is modern and for someone like me who hates hospitals I found it helped ease my mind.

His name is Dr. Joquau Kravvas from Thesalonica Greece, and he possesses the worst kind of Greek Male Mysogony that exists. I was greeted with "Why are you wearing two jumpers"? It is very cold possible the coldest day of the year I replied. He explained nothing about the treatment I had gathered from the nurse that he was about to remove some red skin that could possible develop into a cancerous growth, in the event it did not. Dr. Brarrack joked with the nurse that he would 'Have To Remove Half Of My Face' due to what he could see. I certainly hoped not. He drilled ferociously for half an hour. It was relentless. I hope I would;d not be scarred for life. The nurse said the scar would bleed for a week or so. It went on to bleed for over six weeks, I had to visit the A&E of UCHL during the Xmas break as it bled soo much throughout the dressing and I woke up to blood on my pillow for six weeks. This was embarrassing as I was staying with relatives for some of the holiday, Three months late the scar is still there. I wrote an honest review of my treatment and mentioned his name. He had it removed. But I doubt that Yelp will allow vanity struck doctors like him to remove an honest review. I like the nurses in the Dermatology dept. and I like the Italian coffee and soup stand that is parked in front of the Whittington, but I never want to set eyes on Joqau Barrack as long as I live. This place might have a nice canteen and a well-stocked shop as other reviewers have mentioned...but the most important thing (for me) is to let poorly folks escape as soon as they can! Anyway...I had to come to Whittington for a chest x-ray and blood tests. I'd never been here before, but there were helpful staff at reception to point me in the right direction. X-ray time: - I had a note from my doctor, so I managed to register in less than 5 minutes. - They gave me a buzzer, so I could take a seat by their huge windows and look down to the shard and London skyline. - The buzzer went off in just a few minutes - Next I had to wait outside the x-ray rooms...this was less than 5 minutes as well... - The staff were friendly, but speedy (and I exited out of a different door after changing out of my robe...so the whole process was really streamlined.) Blood test time: - This time I just had to take a ticket (at 10:30am I was 10th in line.) - They had so many staff in each of the rooms, that even this was less than 15 minutes wait. - The staff here were friendly and chatty too (although they were also speedy stars) This meant I was out of hospital within an hour, even though I didn't have appointments in advance. Amazing. Other than that, they have friendly reception staff *gasps*, friendly and efficient nurses...and the whole place seems new and clean.

The first time, I saw the triage nurse, got sent to a GP on site, only to be referee back to A&E and admitted for a week. The care was excellent over the week from the other nurses, but I was just restless. The second time, I had to wait in A&E for over two hours after waiting for blood samples to be taken. The triage nurse was very rude, however the Dr was lovely, taking an interest in my profession and having a chat about Brexit! If you didn't know it was a hospital, St Helier looks a bit like a prison with its fading white walls and unkept exterior. It's been kind of decorated inside though so it's not all bad!

The ground floor passage in the main building leads through into different floors in other parts, which leads to a little confusion, at first. The care I received was excellent, from Nurses, Doctors and Consultants, and I consider the hospital as the best among the ten+ hospitals that I have been treated in. Every two or three days, my bed and furniture were moved around the ward, so that total cleaning of all floors, walls, and ceilings could take place. This was to prevent MRSA, which was, and is, very common in almost new hospitals, which are probably cleaned a lot less often. The food is pretty good, including in the cafeteria. The late Goon, Harry Secombe was a fan of this hospital and he equipped it with one of the first CAT scans in England.
