Never Again! I am going to write about the worst experience I have even had at the hands of a Doctor in a Hospital. The Whittington Hospital to be precise. His name is Dr. Joquau Kravvas from Thesalonica Greece, and he possesses the worst kind of Greek Male Mysogony that exists. I was greeted with "Why are you wearing two jumpers"? It is very cold possible the coldest day of the year I replied. He explained nothing about the treatment I had gathered from the nurse that he was about to remove some red skin that could possible develop into a cancerous growth, in the event it did not. Dr. Brarrack joked with the nurse that he would 'Have To Remove Half Of My Face' due to what he could see. I certainly hoped not. He drilled ferociously for half an hour. It was relentless. I hope I would;d not be scarred for life. The nurse said the scar would bleed for a week or so. It went on to bleed for over six weeks, I had to visit the A&E of UCHL during the Xmas break as it bled soo much throughout the dressing and I woke up to blood on my pillow for six weeks. This was embarrassing as I was staying with relatives for some of the holiday, Three months late the scar is still there. I wrote an honest review of my treatment and mentioned his name. He had it removed. But I doubt that Yelp will allow vanity struck doctors like him to remove an honest review. I like the nurses in the Dermatology dept. and I like the Italian coffee and soup stand that is parked in front of the Whittington, but I never want to set eyes on Joqau Barrack as long as I live. And I would not wish him to cut a biopsy into anyone\s cheek. Not even in Harley Street which he arrogantly brags about. Over the last month I have spent a fair bit of time in and out of various hospitals in London. I am thinking of doing a series. So let's start with the one closest to home. Whilst this isn't the first hospital I have ever been in, in London, it was the first to offer me overnight hospitality and they keep asking me to come back for more. I get the feeling the staff like having me around, or my health issue is more serious than it feels. The staff here are great. Really friendly and welcoming. When I checked in to A&E I was glad to have a friend with me to kill the time but I was seen by triage within 20 minutes and then only had to wait a few hours (it wasn't obviously serious) before being seen by a doctor. The A&E doctor was a nice guy, though I didn't particularly approve of the way he stuck needles into me, it hurt quite a lot (it was in the hand) and since I hate needles anyway (even writing this is making me feel faint) I was throwing up quite a lot. The anti-sickness drugs took effect swiftly and when the blood test results came back I was given a room in major injuries within 5 minutes and a private room on a ward within a couple of hours. Everyone from the porters to the nurses and phlebotomists were amazing, always willing to chat and make you feel included in their lives. My friends tell me the ward doctor was very attractive. I was a little busy being ill to really judge but I can vouch for my friends good tastes. I was impressed with the range of tests they gave me and very grateful that with the NHS I didn't have to pay for any of this. The food on the ward was, average at best however the canteen area was filled with choices and all of which looked delicious. I can recommend this hospital, especially because there is a therapy dog who comes to visit every day and there are lots of local groups who visit the elderly and palliative care patients to ensure that everyone has a visitor during the visiting hours. Whilst there wasn't a tv or a phone in my room the time was passed pleasantly. Ambulatory care is also a very welcoming place to visit as well as just a wonderful phrase to repeat. The staff take good care of you here. If you get truly bored you can always count the pictures of cats scattered around the hospital. read more

This was a pleasant surprise! When I'm feeling poorly, I want to get in and out of hospital as fast as possible. This place might have a nice canteen and a well-stocked shop as other reviewers have mentioned...but the most important thing (for me) is to let poorly folks escape as soon as they can! Anyway...I had to come to Whittington for a chest x-ray and blood tests. I'd never been here before, but there were helpful staff at reception to point me in the right direction. X-ray time: - I had a note from my doctor, so I managed to register in less than 5 minutes. - They gave me a buzzer, so I could take a seat by their huge windows and look down to the shard and London skyline. - The buzzer went off in just a few minutes - Next I had to wait outside the x-ray rooms...this was less than 5 minutes as well... - The staff were friendly, but speedy (and I exited out of a different door after changing out of my robe...so the whole process was really streamlined.) Blood test time: - This time I just had to take a ticket (at 10:30am I was 10th in line.) - They had so many staff in each of the rooms, that even this was less than 15 minutes wait. - The staff here were friendly and chatty too (although they were also speedy stars) This meant I was out of hospital within an hour, even though I didn't have appointments in advance. Amazing. Other than that, they have friendly reception staff *gasps*, friendly and efficient nurses...and the whole place seems new and clean. read more

Most impressed by the staff and hospital grounds. They have volunteer guides to help get around. The sitting areas were not cramped. Apart from the good natured doctors and staff, I find most impressive was in fact their food hall, providing fairly priced and great food. No wonder the hall's always full! read more

My eleven month old child went to A&E because of high fever. A UTI test was done at arrival and no information on the result of the rapid test was provided to me while the test was actually positive. Once they obtained the full result from the lab, they failed to contact my GP regarding the positive result. We received the result two month later. Very irresponsible doctors who put the life of a baby in danger. read more

Today was my first visit to Whittington hospital, and I was so impressed. Without exception, all the staff that dealt with me (and those I observed dealing with other patients) were all so courteous, friendly and helpful. There was just something about the atmosphere, that made it noticeably different from other hospitals I've been to. I couldn't quite put my finger on what made it so different from other hospitals - was it the staff?, or the knowledgeable surgeon who examined me? I really can't say, but what I do know is that I will be asking my GP to refer me to this hospital in the future. read more

This is a great modern hospital, especially after it was refurbished and a new entrance was put in. It looks more flashy and also looks more hygienic. There are lifts, Escalators, glass walls, new concierge, New seating areas and new everything. There are shops, Food halls and the hospital is soo easy to get around. The staff around the hospital are so friendly and are always willing to help you . read more

this hospital has changed for the better,its alot cleaner and nicer. staff are friendly and helpful,since the new block has been added it is much easier to find your way around and also has a canteen where u an enjoy lovely food. theres a shop on the grounds also where u can buy things for patients. read more
