I found a trail at this park on AllTrails and it looked nice so we decided to check it out…read more The beginning of the trail was really nice. It goes through a wooded area and down to the river. Then the trail suddenly becomes a disc golf course. Now the disc golf course seemed really nice, but I wouldn't recommend hiking a disc golf course. You're just in the way if people are playing. There's a nice lake later in the course. Overall, I'd recommend it for disc golf or maybe just to hang out at, but I wouldn't recommend walking through the disc golf course like AllTrails recommends.

On our park tour of the city we landed at Idlewild Road Park. This park is amazing. We only visited…read morethe playground area but loved it. The playground equipment is so cool. They have a bunch of really nice pieces I have never seen before. The playground is also huge. There is so many different areas to choose from. The only bad part is one piece of equipment isn't safe. My nephew decided to play incorrectly on the 4 person see saw piece and his foot got scraped up pretty bad. Make sure that your kids don't try to ride/sit/stand on the middle piece of the see saw. There were two groups grilling out at two different shelters close to the playground. They both surrounded the playground. The one thing that impressed me the most was how clean the restroom was. The restroom is super close to the playground too which is very convenient. This park is kinda far from me but I will definitely make the trip out here for the nibblings. Beautiful serene park…read more Nice little pond on this side Can take a walk back onto woods and it's a bit swampy after hard rain. Very shaded. Would not walk back there alone just to be careful. Cross country high schools use this park . Fishing Some people leave trash which is disappointing

McAlpine Creek Park has long been one of my favorite places to bring my small dog and meet up with…read morefriends who also have small dogs. The park itself is beautiful, and the small dog area has been a valuable resource for the community. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have raised serious concerns about safety and irresponsible pet owners. On multiple occasions, people have brought large dogs into the small dog area despite the posted size limits and have refused to leave when concerns were raised. There have also been situations where dogs were clearly out of control, frightening other dogs and upsetting both pets and their owners, while the owners did little or nothing to intervene. What is especially frustrating is that these situations are often met with hostility. Rather than acknowledging that their dog may be too large for the area or behaving inappropriately, some owners become argumentative and confrontational. Today, when I arrived, there was already tension from an earlier incident that I did not witness, with people yelling at each other. One of the more bizarre and disturbing experiences involved a grown woman standing outside the entrance shouting obscenities, barking, and yelling at the dogs through the fence before entering the park. Her behavior was so erratic that another visitor stepped in because she said she was concerned the woman might kick one of the dogs. It is bizarre and difficult to believe that these kinds of incidents continue to happen at a dog park. Most people are there simply to enjoy time with their pets, and if visitors behaved respectfully and managed their animals appropriately, many of these conflicts could be avoided. The vast majority of visitors just want a safe and enjoyable place for their dogs to play. However, the lack of enforcement and responsible ownership has become a serious issue, and after several negative experiences in a short period of time, I no longer feel as safe here as I once did. I hope greater attention is given to enforcing the rules and keeping the small dog area welcoming for everyone.
