We happened to be there on a perfect day when High Desert Falconry visited for an educational program. It was so amazing learning about these beautiful birds. We learned so much from the husband and wife team. Definitely check out their website for any upcoming events. During the summer, they also have a lunch program for the kids from 11:30 to 12:30. This is the last week they are having it. It starts when the kids are out of school and runs to the end of July. That is, if they receive the funding to offer it. It's free to visit the historical landmark recording this engineering feat, where you'll also have a good view of the loop. It's not guaranteed that you'll see a train pass by (I didn't!) but it's still worth seeing. Free admission and free parking at the historical marker.

We completely lucked out in getting to the overlook moments before a long freight train passed by…read more The loop isn't just one big loop, it goes around and around and the train coils around the tracks like a snake. It truly was an engineering feat and it is still in regular use. We also noticed that the plaque recognized the efforts by Chinese laborers from Guangdong for building this loop. They were previously erased from history but I am glad their contributions are now acknowledged after so many years.

Cub Lake is breathtaking and the memorial is set over looking the water. They have a couple benches facing the plaques with the names of our heroes. There is also picnic tables set near by, would be nice for a picnic with friends and family. I am trying to get more information about the memorial as to when they built it and any other important facts I should know. I will update my review then. I hope everybody stops by and visits this beautiful veterans memorial at Cub Lake.

The Memorial is located in Bear Valley Springs, and it overlooks Cub Lake. Brittany C. (our friend and guide) wrote a wonderful review about this the beautiful place that says it all. She gave me lots of brochures about what's going on in our area. Keep in mind not all businesses are members of the Chamber of Commerce so you can do your own research to find more businesses in town. Ida spent a long time with me and was very nice. If you want to know about anything going on in this community I would definitely start here first. Whether it be where to stay, places to eat, camp, they have all that good information.

Yup I've got my Tehachapi Family to visit in my next life! What a different lifestyle than NYC…read more Britt definitely didn't like getting around in the city when she came for vacation. I've watched my Tehachapi Family grow by generations. Along with my Sister in Spirit Britt we have been through the death of loved ones, births and without a doubt lots of heath conditions. I hope Britt doesn't mind me saying that I mentored her in her quest to be Elite. I'm so proud of her and I enjoy seeing her attending events! Yes I used to exchange gifts with Britt years ago. She was the only one. She loved my Yelp Swag so I sent her big boxes. Definitely my Tehachapi grandbaby received a gift. The family grew so huge I had to stop! So I'm posting a couple pictures of my favorite gift from Britt. I've placed it where I can see it on my daughter's entry table. I currently use it for quick cash to give my building employees because at this point in time I need a lot of assistance! Always remember I love you and think of you daily my Tehachapi Fam! PS Do your research on the City and surrounding areas history before you visit. At one time there was a woman's prison located here. There's an old 1950's Black and White Movie about the woman's life imprisoned here. I enjoyed it! If I find it I will post a screenshot.

I came in on a Thursday right before 11am. As soon as I walk in the first thing I notice is a…read moreFilipino lady, Arlene, on her phone. I walked in with an envelope already in my hand. I was attended by a white Caucasian lady, mid conversation Arlene rudely interrupts & with a scolding tone asks where I got the envelope from. What I took from her approach was she assumed I had grabbed the envelope from the card rack without paying for it. I understand some customers are hectic to deal with but if Arlene had not been on her phone when I entered she would have noticed I already had the envelope. To ensure Arlene was not intentionally being rude & only inquiring about the envelope, before leaving I turned back & took out an old envelope I needed to throw away & asked if she had a trash can I could use. Arlene did not look at me or respond to my question rather just pointed at the trash bin behind her desk which was completely out of my reach. The Caucasian lady then reached over & took the old envelope to throw away for me. Arlene then in a snarky voice said she had wanted me to aim & throw as if it were a basketball hoop. I found this whole interaction with Arlene rude. The place is big & clean but for my peace of mind I will not be coming back to this post office.

Once again usps has messed up a delivery of mine. This is probably the 6th time they've either lost…read morea packages or "attempted a delivery". They claimed they attempted an Amazon delivery at 10:30 but no one ever stopped by the house or rang the doorbell or anything. They never left a slip either saying when they would be back. I contacted usps because it stated they needed an access code to my address but I don't even live in a gated area and they promise they would reattempt delivery the next day. Well lo and behold they didn't try to reattempt delivery. I have never had so many problems with a usps office before. If I could request for Amazon to stop trusting them with packages I would.

I have used City Hall only a couple times in the 16 years I have lived here. Just recently our…read morefamily applied for Passports and this is where we went. We printed applications on line and then went to AAA for passport photos. We called City Hall and scheduled appointment for the next week. We went in and paid the fee and we were done. Very easy process and received our passports quickly. The ladies working were very nice and helpful.
