Definitely one of my favorite pizza spots in general. Whenever I visit Rio, I always find myself stopping in for a calandras slice. The best part is that the cafe is 24/7 and is always open. The pizza slices are pretty big and the crust is filled with melted cheese. Prices are also very reasonable. There's usually quite a bit of people here during the late night, but waits still are not too long and I've always gotten my meal within 10-15 mins.

Located in Copacabana, and offering a wide variety of traditional Brazilian plates as well as Desserts, Café e Bar Stalos remains open 24/7 and can frequently be found quite busy with a good mix of locals as well as tourists. An inhabitant of Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana for several years, modern décor and televisions tuned to futebol creating a welcoming environment around red furniture and Formica, it is on large overhead displays that Stalos' savories are featured prominently, a smaller paper menu left to describe items lining Pastry cases near the register. Serving its role with friendly service and fair prices, a lack of Portuguese fluency overcome through visual inspection and descriptive explanations, it was with five items boxed to-go that the bill was paid in Cash, a refrigerator keeping things cool overnight and everything holding up well until Breakfast the next day at GIG while awaiting a plane to São Paulo. Unable to reheat Savories, and thus focusing only on Café e Bar Stalos' sweet side, it was in an attempt to proceed from light to heavy that Breakfast began with traditional Lime Cake, the soft Sponge surrounded by subtle Citrus further muted by Chantilly while Romeu e Julieta Cheesecake fared far better thanks to creamy Mousse and a thick layer of Guava Jelly. Unable to resist Dulce de Leche, two additional Cakes finding Vanilla and Chocolate Sponges stuffed with caramelized Condensed Milk, it was largely the presence of Nuts that saw the second fare better, though would be hard to suggest Cocoa was not also involved considering the creamy consistency of Stalos' housemade Brigadeiro.

this is my favorite place ever in Brazil every time I come to Brazil and stay at my mother in laws place I need to go to this restaurant, this is right at the corner of my mother in laws apt so this is definitely a must. this restaurant has always been pretty busy at all times of the day and night, this is a 24 hour operation and a yummy one at that. there is no parking lot so street parking is your best bet when coming here. they have some cute restrooms too! I though to mention hehehehe anyways, they have table service and to go service whatever floats your boat. at the table service this time I had a slice of the chicken and catupiry pizza and my husband had the sirloin meal. let me talk about them - CHICKEN AND CATUPIRY PIZZA- let me tell you how amazing this pizza is. cheesy and meaty at the same time, this pizza is among one of the best pizzas I have ever had, they also have some great catupiry stuffed crust on this pizza and that was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect it. -SIRLOIN PLATTER - comes with rice, farofa, molly a campanha and fries, sadly does not come with beans and that is a true shame. usually the meat comes medium well which is fine for most of us. and the meat was very amazing tasting. overall this place has some AMAZING serving sizes and their coffee is American style. their prices are pretty great specially for the Copacabana location that this place is. the weekends here are great and so is the food, this is one of my favorite places here in Brazil.

Wow! Super convenient spot open 24/7 near Copacabana beach. I loved that they had a to-go option specially for freshly made juices. I had one of their breakfast sandwiches before a tour and it held me down for hours! Upon entrance they have a display of fresh pastries & baked goods. I would recommend based on my experience. They have plenty of tables to seat for a meal and their staff was friendly.

This place is 24 hours! For a 24 hour joint - it is pretty nice. We went here for an early breakfast after watching the sunrise at Copacabana Beach. It wasn't that busy so we were seated immediately. Instead of my usual coffee I ordered a Pineapple Mint Juice. Then I ordered the Acai with Granola. They both came in milkshake glasses. They bring the bill to your table. All in all - they have a pretty good variety when it comes to their menu - I will most likely go one more time before I leave Brazil.

Lots of Good tasting food at reasonable prices. The tables are very close to one another, makes it for a very intimate and crowded eating. It's also very noisy in here, but it's right on the corner of a very busy intersection and there's always something going on outside the window. He kind of reminds me of a sports bar without the TVs. If you're hungry and you want good food comfort food, desserts or stand at the counter and the food to go type foods, this is a good place. If you want to sit at the table and talk to your date without saying what what because of the ambient noise in here, then this is the wrong place. One other thing I like about this place is there a button on every table so if you want the waiter, you just hit the button and the waiter comes to you

One of the few places in rio that you can go or order late at night, so this place took 3 stars! The food is average, ok.

Big Bi - Tuna Fish sandwich

I have traveled to many places and have found this place to make a great tuna fish sandwich. You…read moremay ask why I ate a tuna fish here and I'll tell you exactly this, I couldn't read a thing on the menu. Plus, as a pescatarian, you can't go wrong with it. Also, they make amazing fruit juice drinks that are fresh and sold daily. The staff is friendly and help as they can be without knowing very little English. I've been here twice on my stay. I'd come back. Restrooms are tolerable.

This is one of the many corner juice bars that you will find in Rio. This one in particular I liked…read morebecause of the large variety of fresh juices, delicious burgers, and selection of pastries. The service was really fast, so it's perfect for on-the-go meals. You should really try a different fruit juice every time you go to Big Bi! They have many of the local fruits, like the maracuja (relative to passion fruit). On the negative side, burgers do not come with fries. Very few juice bars will have fries for the same price or will offer fries for this price and charge less with no fries. I would walk around and compare. SOME ADVICE (for Big Bi and other juice bars in Rio): [ ] Read the menu that I posted in the pictures BEFORE traveling to Rio. I did not do this and it was frustrating to order and most of the time it was a guess. Pastry names would be ideal. Employees at Big Bi and other juice bars spoke little Spanish or English and knowing what you are ordering before traveling to Rio will make your like and their life a whole lot easier! [ ] Use credit card. Most USA banks have a 3% foreign fee per transaction. So you only loose 3 cents per dollar vs. the average 20 cents that are lost when exchanging money. I used my credit card wherever offered (~50% of businesses accepted Visa) and saved a lot compared to my friends. [ ] Based on the prices at Big Bi, budget how much you will spend on outside food. Keep in mind that corner juice bars are probably the most affordable meals in Rio so this is a minimum. That's it! Hope you like this place as much as we did!

In the morning they had little breads called pao de queijo which is savory Brazilian cheesebread made from cassava/tapioca flour. I also loved getting fresh acai, and sucos (juices). The sucos I tried were all fresh, and always from ripe fruit. Pitaya, papaya, maracuya (passion fruit), and peach were some of the ones I've tried. If the juices are too sour, they conveniently have sugar and a liquid 0 calorie sweetener available. They accept visa, and the workers are extremely friendly. Our concierge recommended Copa Lima when we asked for recommendations for some good acaí. What a great place! It's a little stand on a corner street where locals go to for coffee, snack, breakfast. I definitely would have gone back again if I had stayed in Copacabana longer. They have a lot of pastry options too. We tried the pão de queijo and it was delicious. Cheap prices, and amazing quality for everything we got. There's no indoor or outdoor seating, since it's more of a quick stop corner stand. We took our açaí to the beach and enjoyed.
