It was an impulse…read morebuy at Living Root Winery in Rochester, where it was sitting on the checkout counter, and my ten-year old son talked me into it. I've never eaten a honeycomb before, and don't eat much honey in general. But the really friendly Living Roots clerk explained to us how Wixson's bees actually construct the honeycomb right inside of the container you purchase it in. So we gave it a go. When we got home, before I even noticed, my whole family dug right into it, and ate like a quarter of the honeycomb brick immediately!! I was all, "WHOA, SLOW YOUR ROLL! GIVE ME THAT." As the proprietor of the venture, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I took a spoonful of honeycomb and ... YUP, WHOA, A BITE OF BLISS. I had to cap it, or we likely could have devoured this insanely delicious local natural wonder in one sitting. THANKS to Living Roots for introducing us to Wixson's Comb Honey! And THANKS to Wixson's for your unique sweet treat! If you see this stuff sitting at a checkout somewhere that you are, do not hesitate to purchase, you will BEE glad you did! :-D

Dave's Veggies also happens to be the only place that my mother has been able to find "balloon plants" - a lovely plant that blooms with flowers in varying shades of blue and purple. We visited a couple weeks ago and didn't see any balloon plants out for sale in the yard, so my mother asked about them and one of the guys at the market went into one of the greenhouses in the back and found a couple for her. Honestly, the folks who run this operation are always so lovely and caring and they just want to provide great service. And they do! For me, I love buying as many veggies here as possible. It always depends on what they have available, of course, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased. Quality is always high, and I love being able to support a local market like this. Highly recommend!

This is a small family run business, the flowers and hanging baskets were amazing, the selection was vast and the prices were so fair, I paid 1/2 for a similar item I purchased from Lowe's the week before and it was so much nicer. $15.95 for a glorious hanging basket of the most beautiful deep purple flowers. This farm also grows a huge variety of produce and I am kicking myself for passing on the asparagus and rhubarb. In season they sell beautiful strawberries and tomatoes. I highly recommend Cassim's Farm for you gardening and produce needs.
