For some background, I had a large tree I needed cut down and Urban Tree Service gave me a quote to break it up into two jobs. He asked I call him the next year to get it done but I held off and didn't call him back until the second year. During this two year period I really helped out his business that just started by getting him a bunch of referrals which he thanked me for. Initially he quoted me $1,500 for the second job but when he came this year he wouldn't honor the initial quote and increased his bid to $3,500! That's well over double what he had quoted me just a few years back. Called R&J and they cut it down today for $1,200. How quickly people forget who helped them out by the referrals when they needed them. Will never use or recommend Urban Tree Service again.

Bill did an excellent job cleaning up our overgrown trees and even took off some branches of a forth tree as far up as second story window to ensure it would no longer scrape against the roof and building until we decide to have that one worked on. He and his employee were very friendly, answered questions and completed the entire job quickly. They stayed completely to the price quoted two weeks earlier and it was a very reasonable price compared to other professional tree services. He also let me know that for the next trees we were looking to have done in the future what the quote was per tree and that it would be good through fall. I also felt that this was completely reasonable since the market fluctuates year to year and wouldn't expect a quoted price to be the same a year later. I appreciated his being up front with his pricing and this was also something I was told by all the other companies I received other quotes from earlier. I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have trees trimmed, cut down or for stump removal.

When Ryan showed up for the estimate, he was on time, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He pointed out 12 trees that needed to come down and said that my oak tree would be a lot healthier if he took off two of the branches. Plus, he said he would grind down the main stump on the one BIG tree that I was concerned about after removal. ALL for $6000 Ryan's crew of men were extremely nice, polite and respectful. I was impressed with the communication at all times with what was going on and I really really appreciated the video phone call from Ryan showing me that they needed to pull the equipment out and stop the job because the with the snow and sudden warm weather, it would've damage damaged my yard for them to continue. In the meantime, on a Sunday, his crew came out, raked the whole yard and used a very powerful blower to clean everything up! On April 7, Ryan and his crew came out and completed only part of the work. They cut down approximately half of the tree but left the trunk standing. They also left a significant amount of debris in my yard. I had to send multiple messages before one of his employees finally came back to clean up the mess. Ryan repeatedly assured me he would return to finish the job. I wasn't in a rush, so I gave him plenty of time and never pressured him. On multiple occasions he told me he would be working nearby and would stop over. Each time I made the effort to move the vehicles, he never showed up. After the second time, he stopped responding to my calls and messages altogether. What makes this even more disappointing is that I treated Ryan and his crew with nothing but kindness. I paid my portion of the job promptly, tipped him an additional $100, and even provided food for his workers while they were on site. I expected the same level of honesty and professionalism in return. I made every effort to resolve this privately before leaving this review, but Ryan refused to communicate or work toward a reasonable solution. After looking into other customer experiences, I found reviews describing situations very similar to mine--partial work completed, payment collected, and unfinished jobs left behind. I wish I had done more research beforehand. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. If you choose to hire this company, only pay for the work that has actually been completed. Don't rely solely on promises that the remaining work will be finished later. DO NOT PAY UP FRONT.
