Incredible park - its more like a nature preserve. What I found most appealing about the park was that all the visitors had respect for it. Nobody threw garbage around - don't remember seeing bubble gum on the sidewalks. Incredible and clean. The beautiful British Columbia - just as it says on all the vehicle license plates here. No joke - so much beauty in every direction you look. The park is almost entirely surrounded by water with views no matter which way you look. I'm not a park person and I love this place... in fact I think calling this a park is just wrong. Parks are places to bring your dogs to take crap... places where homeless sleep. Maybe a place to bring your kids so they can exchange germs and head lice with all the other little snot nose children. I rename this place the "Stanley Nature Preserve." Your welcome. read more

Oh Canadians, I am super jealous of the fresh air and opportunities for leisure you have in Vancouver! I stayed in Vancouver for 3 days and spent about 2 hours enjoying the park via bike ride. I didn't have the time to walk the park nor the energy to run it when I had 2 other things on my itinerary that day. For those visiting by car, there is metered parking. I opted to rent a bike off-site and bike towards the park. I didn't get to see the entire park, but I did bike the entire seawall. I am super jealous of all the runners out there who are enjoying the sunsets near 8pm and the cooler temperatures (ideal for running weather!). I guess I will need to resort to my sunny, smoggy running scene weather in Los Angeles ;). read more

TL;DR the best way to enjoy all of Stanley Park is via bike. I don't ride bikes (long story) but I recognize that's how to optimize any sightseeing trips in Vancouver. Personally, I went on an extensive walk. I went from the Vancouver Convention Center to Stanley Park, grabbed a bite to eat, walked to the beach, then walked back to my hotel by the Convention Center. Probably should have brought better shoes, but it was totally a worthwhile solo adventure. There are so many sites to see, specifically around Stanley Park. I didn't get to see EVERYTHING, nor did I have the stamina to do so before the sun went down, but they include totem poles, gardens, and lakes, all with their own histories. While there are many giant patches of dead grass in Stanley Park, it's lush and green for the most part. Lots of benches to sit on and meditate or generally contemplate life. Super peaceful, minus the occasional screaming child. If you're going with a group and coming from out of town, I would definitely do some research on what you want to see and do in Stanley Park. The City of Vancouver website is fantastic for this. In my opinion, it's tough to do everything, though I might just be super inefficient with my sightseeing. I should have taken the "Stanley Park Train" for the ultimate VIP experience. Oh well, next time! read more

This is a gigantic ass park, it should have it's own zip code. There's something in it for everyone so make sure you look at the map ahead of time to plan out what spots you want to hit because I doubt you would just want to park and walk through the whole thing, not even sure if it's even possible to do within a day. But Stanley Park is one of those tourist destinations that pop up when you Google, "things to do in Vancouver". There's magnificent views at certain areas of the park, paid parking lots all around that you pay by time so you can move from parking lot to parking lot if it's going to be a drive to the next destination. So there's a dog park, rose garden, few restaurants/cafe around, boat launches, a lot more. The park goes in a big circle in one direction, be careful of running into bikers. This is one of the loveliest parks I've been to. You really have an oasis away from the city when exploring this park. We only got to go about half an hour around but the trails, the park house and statues. We just loved walking around and wish I had more time to go deeper into the trail. We saw some horse mounted police officers on the trail which seemed very fitting. And all the different type of trees was just beautiful. I would come here any time of the year. read more

Ummmm.... Its Stanley Park!!! I love taking strolls along the sea wall with my children in the summer. The Aquarium is there too. The fish, tortoise, shark, seals, etc are incredible to see. There is a great playground near the Teahouse. Even just a nice place for a quick scenic drive. In the summer months, definitely check out the mini-golf. The trees are stunning. I wouldn't go there outside alone at night though. There have been some issues with coyotes. Otherwise, its an awesome place to visit. read more

Wow, what a treasure. Bigger than Central Park. We only covered a small portion of this lovely park right next door to the city. When you get there, you'll forget the city, you'll feel transported. We got there by foot from downtown. Excellent trails that go around and inside the park. It's very active and people of all shapes, sizes and age are out there enjoying the phenomenal park. You can do everything by foot and there are also options like horse drawn wagon or the Hop on, Hop off buses. the scenery is epic everywhere. We focused on the Totem Pole Park area. There are a couple of small beaches and a public pool. Picnic areas, vast expanses of grass and trees to rest or play, great for families too. If you are in Vancouver do not miss this treasure! read more

THE best of the best parks! I have been going to Stanley park ever since I was born and even to this day it doesn't get boring! With the world famously known Vancouver Aquarium within Stanley park and the beautiful scenic roads that stretch across and around the perimeter by the shoreline, creates the kindest natural environment that is far from comparable to any other park. Absolutely stunning and kept/maintained with beauty. This park is so huge! I'd recommend walking the seawall (8.8km), going to the aquarium, looking up deadman's island while walking past deadman's island, reading about the totems, getting lost riding a bike in the maze of trails. And there's much more! You can walk to Stanley Park from downtown, it takes about 25minutes. You can also drive and park but you'll have to pay a parking fee. The views are great and there's different places to dine around the area. read more

Yes, there are plenty of reviews for here and mine is just one more. I walked about 2 miles of the park and enjoyed every minute of it. Love that they separate the paths for walkers and bikers since we all know that is an accident waiting to happen. The walk along the shore is relaxing and calming at the same time, occasionally stopping to sit on a bench and enjoy the view. Badges going by or seals in the water frolicking. After our lovely walk we jumped in the car and drove the circle. The only gripe was I wanted to see the totems and missed the turn off. Once u miss the turnoff u can't turn around, you have to drive the whole loop again to go back, hence me not doing that and seeing them. Bummer. One side has a lovely view of north Vancouver and the other the city. See all views and enjoy your day! read more

Stanley Park is synonymous with Vancouver - you just cannot miss it, even if you are only in town for a day. The park is HUGE - definitely do your research on the areas you want to explore before heading in. I recommend walking or biking a portion of the seawall loop, the totem pole park, and the various gardens. Beautiful park. We were tourists and rented bicycles to ride around the park. It was peaceful until around 12 pm when the park got really crowded. There are beaches, food options, totem poles and gorgeous scenery to enjoy. Be careful of the pedestrians if biking, many tend not to walk on the bike path and I saw a few almost crashes. Vancouver is one of the most bike friendly cities I have been to and the bike path goes all around the city. read more

This park is an attraction in itself it would probably take a month of weekends to see everything. They have the sea wall which is an excellent beach side experience itself, but you can tour the park via car, horse drawn carriage, bike or whatever you fancy really. The park host the aquarium and many other attractions there were too many trails to count. They were doing a movie in the park the day we visited and the place was packed. The gun sounds off at 6 I believe didn't have my watch but it was extremely loud. We bought the city passport at the skyline and it had many discount we could use here 1/2 price bike rentals and kayak rentals. I would definitely purchase the Vancouver attractions Passport book when you arrive it gives plenty of ideas for your vacation and gives you a great value for your money. I suggest renting a bike and riding the seawall it gets you through the park more effectively and your time is spent well. The fountain was off, and they are doing some minimal maintenance but I can't wait to come back. read more

Such a beautiful and scenic park. We decided to walk around the park on the outskirts by the water and attempt to do the entire walk. We didn't quite make the entire walk only because it was in the afternoon and the sun was beaming down on us. It got really hot! The scenery was amazing, lots of nature and greenery that you don't see much of in the city. This was one of the places that was on our checklist. We are glad that we went to this place and wish that we rented bikes to ride around the park. Next time we come back, we will rent bikes and ride the route. The walk was very nice still, maybe next time if we do a walk again, it'll be either earlier in the day or later in the day when the sun is not beaming on us. The bonus was that we found the bar and grill place to cool off at with some tasty appetizers and delicious drinks! Review of the bar and grill to come! read more

The seawall is one of the largest in North America and the trees and everything here beautiful views are second to none and the park is a great place to come and visit!!! Stanley Park is amazing. The one thing I would love to see is more acknowledgement that not only is this unceded Indigenous territory but that people were forcibly moved from their village to establish the park. Xwayxway is the original name. I believe that there can be a better representation of the first nations, as current, living, societies that are still the rightful caretakers of the land. I am not sure what, if any, ceremonies are practiced there, but I believe that the Indigenous have the right to use that land as they see fit. read more

This is for the visitors to town: DO NOT leave valuables in your car. This park sits next to a major metropolitan city. We have criminals who will prey on any ignorance they come across. We don't have a high rate of attacks on people (not saying it doesn't happen) but we have a very high rate of car break-in and theft. Busters Towing has a storage lot where you can pay to safely park a vehicle full of valuables and then walk to the skytrain and enjoy the city all day knowing your passports, computers, and camera gear are safe in the car. This is a great option if you're not able to check in early at a hotel, or store bags there after checking out before leaving town. All the best and enjoy our great city! read more

Great place to take a walk. The park is designed very well and you can easy do the loop yourself. Lots of good things to see on the way. There are historical artifacts, Vancouver skyline, a lighthouse, beautiful views of the waterfront, mountains along the way. Walk, jog or bike but make sure to check it out! read more

Huge 1001 acre park with lots to do and explore. It's got ocean and fields and forests. The brewery in the park is a great place for a beer and a bite. The Tea House is a nice upscale dinning experience. They have a great brunch. There are lots of quick concession stands for drinks and food. A pool, many playgrounds, a water park, a lighthouse, lots of trails with hidden gems to discover tucked away in the trees. There is also an aquarium. read more

Biking the Vancouver Seawall is a perfect way to view all the coastal scenery, but the inner trails are wonderful too! We had a pleasant twenty minute stroll from downtown to the Vancouver Aquarium. The walkways are wide and the park is rather clean. I was also thrilled at the newfound sight of all the black squirrels running around the park! read more

Yes, it's touristy, and yes, it's almost a must to visit when you're in Vancouver. It can get crowded, but there are many parking opportunities throughout the park with pay kiosks. It'll run you about C$13 for the day. I parked in the Aquarium overflow which is adjacent to the rose garden. Wear comfy shoes for a lot of walking or grab a bike. I really like that there's 2 walkways: one for pedestrians and one for cyclists. Enjoy the Seawall which gives you great views of the city skyline, water and bridges. Every city needs a park like this! This place is amazing! It has lakes, pathways for runner/walkers and bikers, loads of greenery, and cute animals. Although I didn't get to venture too much into the park, I could tell how grand it was and how the rest of the park would feel. I'm just so glad I was even able to experience some of it! Ok, so the main reason why I ended up here was because I heard it was a Charmander farm (Pokemon Go reference). Yes, I did catch some, but glad it brought me here. Next time I'd like to rent a bike and go further into the park. I think that's possible because I saw some bike rental shop near the entrance of the park. I can just imagine how awesome that would feel. read more

An iconic park in Vancouver with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, North Shore, West Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver. My favourite part of the Stanley Park is the seawall, and it's perfect for walking, running and cycling. The air quality is mostly excellent with an abundance of trees (Douglas fir, western red cedar and western hemlock) that surround the park. I do miss the Stanley Park Zoo and the various animals roamed freely beside the seawall within its fenced area especially the pink flamingos. Note: there is no free parking in Stanley Park which is the reason why I rate it four stars. read more

This was one of my favorite things in Vancouver! Stanley Park is just stunning and it's huge. I recommend going around sunset. I really appreciate that they have separate lanes for walking and bicycling. I went on a run around the park and I loved that as I was running I could look over and see the water. The park is so green and lush. There's lots of place for you to stop and sit to take in all the views. I wasn't able to find any free parking. We had to pay for parking. Great for dogs and for kids too. They had a playground for kids. Near the playground there were bathrooms. I wish that I had something even remotely close to Stanley Park where I lived! read more
