The greatest staffing company I've ever dealt with. Grace, Anj and everyone there are the definition of hardworking and caring people. I am a recent college graduate and I was introduced to Grace through a relative of mine, she said that "Grace and everyone at Stansbury really care about what you are looking for, and go out of their way to get you in a place where you feel you can grow." I definitely agree Grace has been very encouraging of my endeavors and really pushing me to look beyond what's in front of me. Stansbury was able to get me a job interview within the week I met with them, and by that next week I had a job in a great company. The job wasn't in the field I was looking for, so Grace informed them of my future goals and the HR manager wanted to help me transition from the position offered to the field that I wanted. After a week I was unfortunately involved in a tragic incident that caused me to be in the hospital for a week and out of work because of the severity of the injury. I would expect an experienced recruiter in the valley to possess the qualities that they are looking for in their candidates. I would think that that most working professionals in the valley would be savvy, efficient and relationship-driven. Not the case with Stansbury Staffing. In 2013, I never expect this sort of redundancy. I accidentally came across Stansbury Staffing when I applied to what I thought was a job on Craigslist. After playing phone tag with Emily for several hours - we were able to connect. She was very kind, and we agreed to set up a time to meet face-to-face to talk about the opportunity. I agreed to drive down to San Mateo from San Francisco. She said that she would send me an email to confirm -- and when she did, an "application" was attached. Emily insisted that this application must be competed before we met. I open it, and it's 5 pages long. And it basically asks every question that's already clearly answered on my resume. Phone Number, email, job history, references, etc. The spacing was terrible - the layout was bad. It looked like something you'd fill out to work at Starbucks in 1996. I immediately lost confidence in Stansbury Staffing. This looked very amateur. For example, they wanted to know how many words a minute I type. My shorthand ability. If I can use Quark and Word Perfect. (Do companies still use WordPerfect?) The best part was this: "What are your goals for the next two years? ___________________." Really? You expect me to write out my goals for the next two years on a line that is about 2 inches long. "Where did you hear about Stansbury Jobs? _________________." You know where I heard about it. You were masquerading as a legitimate job on Craigslist. You found me. I didn't find you. Honestly, everything on this ridiculous application could be garnered from a conversation, more importantly, a connection could be made and trust could be built. I would expect the recruiter to take down the necessary notes during that conversation and get back to her client with the things that are important and relevant. Stansbury Staffing is probably good at placing people in low-paying temp jobs, but when it comes to sourcing talent for C-level/Partnership Executives, they really don't know what they're doing. read more

Grace & Fran are fantastic! Stansbury Staffing is a small recruiting agency in San Mateo. I've been working with them on and off for over 6 months. They spend the time to really get to know you and only suggest jobs that you are highly qualified for. The job market has been tough, but they did send me on one interview, which was great. The difference in the customer service speaks volumes at Stansbury. This smaller firm takes pride in who is representing them and it shows. I have used Stansbury Jobs in the past when I needed office help (and a kickbutt assistant). I've also referred several well qualified, reliable but unfortunately out of work friends here. Why? Because I knew they'd be in good hands. I personally shun huge staffing outfits because they typically care for only short term profitability. Stansbury Jobs is the opposite. A couple friends have now successfully been hired full time from the temp work they were offered from Grace Redman, who is the sweetest and one of the sharpest female business owners I've ever met and whom I have a ton of respect for. She has consistently been a pleasure to deal both professionally and personally. She takes the time to pre-qualify applicants so she can place highly competent people according to their skill level. Friendly enough staff but the onboarding process left me puzzled. They wanted me to do multiple phone calls, an onsite meeting and 3 hours of computer testing for roles that are rarely over $20/hour. My time spent scheduling, talking to them and taking computer tests accounted for about a day of work, and I didn't hear from them during the process - no follow-up. The whole thing fizzled out after about three weeks and I decided to let it go. Other staffing firms are doing video calls in lieu of onsite meetings, which I think would be effective for them. It shouldn't take more than a day or two to get someone into the pipeline, and there shouldn't be so many steps if you provide a resume and articulate what you want. On wages in this area, I can't imagine working for - or paying someone - such a low rate. At one point a recruiter asked me if $14/hour was okay. Tradespeople are paid much more for construction, landscaping, cleaning, etc., so what they are offering is truly poverty level. I got the feeling that they wouldn't speak up to a client for more reasonable wages or market a candidate's value, so pay attention to that. Overall the firm is friendly and traditional: they take what they can get and expect you to as well. read more
